for the record she was born in u.s. until the age of 2 her parents went to u.k. of cause it's her first language growing up .then her parents came back to the states ,,so she is an American and British accent.

I think its because Scully was a strong independent intelligent woman she never slept around was loyal to her partner even though he didn't know she felt that way about him and she had a good job as a fbi agent and a good career as a doctor / surgeon/ Medical Examiner and she knows how to handle a weapon witch is hot thats the hole package and kinda sexy the amounts of woman and men that have approached her to say thanks because of her they are now working or studying to be in medical field or work for fbi or just new they where gay & came out the closest because of her the actress from snl kate Mckinnon was obsessed with her dressing up as her for Halloween then getting to be in a movie with her that be awesome

+dill dirk Actually she grew up in the UK she only came to the US when she was 11. So I think she considers herself more English than American. She often states that she was made fun of when she was little because of her accent and stuff. So when in American she speaks American and when in the UK she uses her English accent. She also stated she missed the UK in interviews which is why she probably went back as she stated as a kid they would go back and fourth and then eventually just settled here.

Lexicaitlin She actually regards herself as a Brit.She has a British and American passport.Her first natural accent is English,& her kids are British with English accents.You can see she gets pretty pissed off with the question now It was on Leno or one of the other big US talk shows where she described herself as an English girl.And that should settle the matter.Her humour and her primary influences and the way she talks are British.Kim Cattralls always asked the same question.And she to replies that she is English.
