Art History nerd here! The renaissance painters that she's talking about, specifically big names like DaVinci and Michelangelo, for example, generally worked on the patron system. Basically somebody's gotta pay for the art, and the biggest patron of the era was thee Catholic Church. It was all money. Michelangelo was actually so pissed at the Church when painting the Sistine Chapel that he painted one of the bishops (among several others in hell) having his balls bitten by snakes in hell. That's how much he despised the job, it left him with permanent physical injuries. So NO! Most religious artwork was commissioned directly from the Church, which you guessed correctly is why we have white Jesus. There was no divine influence here. Also "Heaven is a place on earth" is a song, it's not from the Bible. She mixes up media SO often and knows SO little about almost everything she talks about.

She's still in a Manic state. She may feel better than she was and/or may not be hallucinating anymore but just by the speed of her speech pattern, she's still manic. She cannot establish what's reality/sanity and what's not. The fact that she cannot recognize that discussing the murdering of young children and how that can be offensive in it of itself but then going off on a tangent about how her crazy views is another red flag. She's still posting in mass, like beforehand, but excusing it as explaining her previous episode that she's never had before. Girl please...if anyone has a clear pattern of behavior it's Gabbie Hannah. The only one who can't see that IS Gabbie Hannah!!!

As someone who does have bpd. Pls stop acting like u know exactly where she is mentally. Only a therapist can say the stuff u do. diagnosing a celebrity who uses attention for financial gain isn’t your job n you stating it liek you know is wild. If you care abt mental health u wouldn’t say stupid stuff like explaining HER “manic” state. Stop spreading false info, you don’t know her, n u don’t know how her manic states present, plus she blames social media for mania so stop commenting on it. as GABBY SAIDS it’s ppl like u who talk abt her “mania” that’s she never had (although ppl like u kept screaming n crying mania) that cause he manic states. So if she reads this just know you’re why she’s gonna have a manic episode and that’s from her not me
@olive92
@olive92 2 жыл бұрын
truth; when i was manic, i have no self -awareness of it at all, and would be confused at people getting upset with me. When I finally came out of it, i was mortified and had to make so many apologies. It almost felt like it was a completely different person, the disconnect I felt between who I really am in my right mind and the things I said while manic. The fact that I kept saying I "felt great" and "never better" and "this is the clearest I've ever been" were all part of it. I was wrong, and so is Gabbie. It's why seeing professionals that know what their doing and are willing to disagree with and confront you is so important. You can never see it when you're actually IN it.

honestly it's terrifying that Gabbie might look for a "spiritual" therapist, who could just nod along and be a yes man for her, and she might go untreated and unmedicated because she believes actually manic episodes where she emotionally damages other people are "gifts from god" or jesus, or whathave you. As a spiritual witch who takes a cocktail of pills all throughout the day, mental breaks are NOT visions or gifts, and being medicated is NOT something to try and avoid when you genuinely need it

definitely agree. so long as she is still smoking weed and hasn't proven stability for a consecutive extended period of time, she shouldn't be alone. luckily when i had my manic/psychosis episode i was living with my parents and my oldest sister was helping care for me during that time. but i was sober for a long time before i moved out, even then i had a couple relapses (that's part of sobriety) & eventually i found my bearings and have been sober for 5 years & can live alone just fine. haven't been manic or psychotic since i quit smoking cannabis. it really might be the cannabis that's sending her so deep, that was my trigger.

I’ve been a practicing witch for five years now- i think that you should believe whatever religion or practices you want to as long as you aren’t harming anyone. I was raised a christian and i find that it was not good for me at all. I was never in a healthy mindset or safe environment when i was in the church. That’s a whole other conversation though- i find it very interesting to hear others perspectives and experiences with religion and spirituality so feel free to ask questions or share anything with me!

I am a Christian and I feel Christianity gets a bad rep because so many people weaponize it to benefit them and whatever agenda they have. I don’t like to say I follow a religion I just follow Jesus because religion is man made and is just a bunch of rules. If we could save ourselves and get into heaven by following rules then there would have been no need for Jesus and his sacrifice. That all being said I respect whatever other people choose to believe as long as it’s not hurting anyone like you said. Just being respectful and being kind to others and having love and compassion for others when it’s needed is what’s important to make our world better I think.

Hello love! I was agnostic many years and then pagan for several. I had bad experiences with the church growing up. This year I started reading scripture separately from a church, and the Bible literally WARNS us about churches and about false teachers within them. Things started aligning and making sense for me. In all those years agnostic and pagan, I was a good person and enjoyed life and loved very deeply but somehow at the end of the day I still felt purposeless and alone. The MOMENT it cliqued for me, I haven't felt the same since. I don't worry about anything anymore. 😌

Lol oh Gabi… I’m religious. Always have been and still am. I believe in spiritual experiences like many religious people. But like any sane modern person, if you know someone who uses drugs (no judgement! I’ve used plenty of drugs and am 420 friendly) and is mentally ill that is having hallucinations, you are going to suggest they get professional help not assume it’s “Jesus”. It’s 2022 girl. There are plenty of normal people that are religious and believe in therapy, meds, and mental health help. Granted I go to a very liberal church but if I went to my priest saying what she says he would pray with me but would also refer me to a psychiatrist.

Exactly! I’m not religious but do believe in God (just not in the typical Christian sense) and have had some spiritual/paranormal experiences in the past, but (this may sound contradicting) I like to take a more logical approach to things. I love watching paranormal videos and shit like that, but before I jump and say “it’s real!” I like to play Sherlock Holmes so to speak.😂 I like to analyze how the person is reacting to seeing this “ghost”, I like to rule out any possible explanations, etc. If I go through the list and can’t find a logical outcome, I’m willing to say it could be real. However, All of Gabbie’s experiences are because she has an untreated mental illness and openly says that weed makes her hallucinate. Now don’t get me wrong, I do believe even ill people can have paranormal experiences, but it’s rare. For instance, my Great Grandmother was in a nursing home for a couple years suffering from severe dementia. One day she started screaming that there was a man in her room telling her it’s “time to go.” She described him as this black figure with wings. Half an hour later she passed away. We believe it was the Angel of death coming to retrieve her. However, in Gabbie’s case, it’s clearly donto the drugs and bipolar disorder. My cousin is bipolar and before he got diagnosed (took him a year to receive treatment because he was going through a rough financial patch at the time) his symptoms gradually got worse from no treatment. He started thinking that aliens and the mob were coming to kill him and slept with a knife underneath his pillow. One time he went 35 hours without sleep because he was convinced that something was going to harm him. A bunch of family members eventually pitched in enough money in order to get him treated, and he’s doing very well now. Also, I’m laughing at the fact that you said the sentence “my Priest would refer me to the psychiatrist.”😂😂😂

It’s 4:11pm and I’m about to go to work 😭 I grew up Christian but knew I was LGBTQ from a very very young age and was explicitly told that “gay people go to hell” as a kid. I feel similar to Gabbie that a lot of my experience in church growing up was being taught to fear hell and fear life in general. I became really deep in the closet and very suicidal. At 15 I had my first suicide attempt when I came out to myself as bisexual. I thought I was going to hell and that my life was over. It took a lot of time and therapy to realize that there was nothing wrong with being queer and I later came out as trans which was difficult but easier because I was already an adult and out of the house. I’ve been agnostic/atheist since I was around 16. I was and still am so deeply traumatized by Christianity and getting out of religion SAVED MY LIFE. Love you, Adam 💕 sending you lots of love ❤️

But, she's used the spiritual narrative to say some hateful things about black families, trans people, and act like a "savior" to people who didn't ask for it. And I do think it's mostly delusional from my standpoint. I also don't think any good therapist would feed into this and if she is seeing one that is she is just seeing someone who says yes to everything and wants to get paid.

Yes, her therapist could definitely be listening to this and not judging (because that’s her job) but she wouldn’t just push something like that to the side. @@Anna19093 right, I mean it doesn't mean it's schizophrenia, but she could very well have undiagnosed schizoaffective disorder which is a comorbodity that often appears with bipolar disorder. So, I've wanted to mention this and I could be COMPLETELY wrong: Gabbie mentioned recently she doesn't take her ADHD meds anymore, right? As someone who used to abuse them to lose weight AND smoked weed + drank alcohol on occassions, not only did I develop anorexia, I went completely manic. I also experienced psychosis. These drug combinations can cause this. Rehab was the only thing that helped me to realize it. At high doses it can distort your perception on reality. Especially if you up the dosage more. (my body got used to it pretty fast) My point here - I'm not assuming she's lying or anything. I'm just concerned this strangely looks much like the moments I had in addiction. (Emotionally wise. I couldn't imagine saying SUCH offensive things.) Anyways, it's rough to watch. And I've noticed she's barely sleeping and she's lost more weight. It's just, ugh... Hi from Austin, just finished the video so now it’s 5:21. I’m a practicing pagan and I think you should believe and do whatever feels best for you in a current time or place, whether it be spiritual, religious or non of the above. It shouldn’t be on anyone to dictate what is best for you. Also holyyyy shit Gabbi. I’ve been diagnosed with c-ptsd and osdd-1a and later DID, even her “with best intentions” explanation is incredibly triggering and still undermines and can invalidate people with DID and other disassociative disorders. I can sort of understand where the “reframe your illness as a power” comes from but even that can be extremely damaging because of various stereotypes and the entire fact that you have this “superpower” from intense sustained childhood trauma. And I can also understand where she came from with the “it’s just your body forcing you to meditate” as for me disassociating feels almost out of body, but that is often because i find myself in dangerous situation and it is my body’s way of trying to protect me.

This answers all questions you asked us to answer in the video: I’m from downtown Chicago & it’s currently 5:09pm I am not religious, I grew up in a religious cult & it was very harmful for me. I don’t know if I will ever be religious or spiritual again, I’ve never experienced something spiritual before, never have believed it even when I was apart of the cult.

She's 100% still in a manic state, and I hope once she's ok she actually apologizes for everything she has said here, the fact she didn't even mention what she said about trans people makes me so angry, but also how she talked about the girl who SH'd, you do NOT laugh at someone who SH's, even if you're nervous speaking about it and you use laughter to show it (which I doubt about Gabbie she was HYSTERICAL about it), you contain it since it is such a sensitive topic. I hope she actually seeks help and gets off the internet, enough is enough.

Reminder that Gabby Hannah's mental health issues are an explanation for her behavior. Not an excuse. Especially when she doubles down afterwards rather than apologizing. Yes people say shit when they are manic but they still must hold themselves accountable for the things they do while they are manic. Shes needs support and a reality check from liscensed professional... not to be coddled. There is a difference. It is possible to be both empathetic but also constructively critical

As someone with bipolar disorder - I’m 1000% sure she is still manic but BELIEVES she’s no longer manic because she’s a little more aware that she was in a manic episode the last few weeks so because she’s aware it almost makes you feel like if you’re aware that you must not be manic anymore. I don’t condone her behaviour, and I hope people don’t see her behaviour and think every person with bipolar disorder acts like Gabbie & Kanye during manic episodes (since they are the media’s depictions of bipolar disorder), some of us actually get help to manage these symptoms better and take a super active approach so that we aren’t harmful to ourselves & others.

as someone with bipolar 1 and has suffered from manic episodes with hallucinations, I am not a fan of Gabbie Hanna and have not been since the Jessie Smiles situation. with that being said I really do feel for Gabbie right now, I believe she is still in a manic episode. I can’t really keep track of her story and she is a story teller. The inappropriate laughter is something I heavily relate to when manic I will find the most awful stuff from my episode “funny” but like its not it’s just still so confusing for me i laugh. This whole thing has also made me see how many people still don’t understand mania. I created a literal birds nest out of my hair and live-streamed every second while manic. its sad so many people see it as something to laugh at, again, i don’t support or like Gabbie in general and i can empathize with her as a bipolar person too. (side note: i am also a big stoner and i seeeee the shade adam but i love you anyways)

watching from france at around 7pm!! edit: i'm a Muslim, was raised in a family without a religion and found my islamic faith on my own as i grew up. i think organized religion can get really out of control lots of the time, no matter the religion or the branch. thankfully i reached out to my city's islamic centre and explained my situation of being a muslim in learning who struggles with communication and meeting new ppl because i'm autistic, and i was welcomed with open arms by generous and kind people who accepted me as i am and did a lot for me. i don't have the knowledge that someone who was raised in a practicing muslim family can have in terms of the quran, hadiths, and prayers, but i think the simplest way to answer your question is to say i have an Islamic faith, believe in Allah and worship prophet Muhammad PBUH.

Sometimes when having a mental breakdown or your mental health is not the best; you can suffer hallucinations. :/ I have had to find a new psychiatrist because one was just downplaying my struggles. Gabbie got high, listened to Belinda Carlisle and binged a bunch of Doctor Who. She isn't religious or philosophical. She needs direction because right now she's a bit aimless - she just knows she wants to be relative to social media in some way or another. It's unfortunate the term "any press is good press" is still relevant as not 'all attention; is good attention.

As someone who was raised Christian, found myself leaning atheist for a long time, and in the past five years has rediscovered spirituality and religion to the point that once I am more settled in my life I plan to convert to Judaism -- everything she says about spirituality leads me to think she's definitely having some kind of mental illness act up. People who have hallucinations can be fully aware that they are hallucinating. Just because you are questioning what you're feeling doesn't mean that you're not still having that experience. None of that is like normal or healthy connections with divinity lmfao

My dad played the organ in church and all of my aunts would sing hymns! But around 15-16 I started to question things, I noticed my mum and dad had stopped going to church as well and they weren’t as religious anymore either. I still went to a catholic school and learned the same stuff but ever since I left school, religion has absolutely 0 place in my life, it’s really trippy! Considering it was such a massive part of my childhood, I hold no ill will towards it though :) thanks for the great video mucker ❤

It's 3:30 pm, I'm in the greater Vancouver area, Canada. I'm an agnostic atheist, and I was raised christian. I'm also gay, so the religion caused me incredible amounts of emotional strife and self-loathing. Leaving was one of the best decisions I've made for my own health and happiness. I'm not spiritual, but I suppose when I'm in nature I feel something akin to what most people would call 'spiritual feelings'. I personally feel wary of most spiritual/religious 'groups' and of being manipulated into believing/practising them, like I believe I was with christianity, so it's unlikely I will ever consider myself spiritual or religious again. I have no issue with people who are spiritual or religious, except if they use it as a weapon to convert or harm others. In my humble opinion (I'm currently at 21 minutes in the video), Gabbie doesn't want to seek adequate treatment for her bipolar because it allows her to create situations/stories so she can get enough attention on her personal projects. I fully believe her manic episodes are real, but her using her religious beliefs and her mental illness in this way is vile.

I'm watching in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. I'm an atheist As are my parents. My grandparents grew up in church and left it behind as adults. I believe I'm a spiritual person with a strong moral compass. I'm interested in religion in an anthropological sense, but don't really want it in my personal life. There's a freedom in being brought up without being forced to grapple with big ideas such as god, heaven, hell, sin, guilt, etc! I believe most humans have a natural morality (those with properly formed empathy, anyway) and treating others as you wish to be treated is sort of a universal human tenet; regardless of religion. All you need is kindness and respect for others to get along in life. Not God. But I also am unbothered, for the most part, about what other people believe.

I was raised Christian but now I just don’t practice any religion. I don’t consider myself an atheist, but I’m just not really religious anymore. I grew up going to church every Sunday and Wednesday, but once I got to high school and in college, I haven’t had any motivation to continue going to church. I think it is because my mother is so religious that it’s overwhelming and she almost pushes it onto me. I don’t care that she is still very religious but I just don’t like talking to her because everything I say she will respond as if she’s my bible study leader, but not as a mom. I believe anyone should be able to practice any religion they chose or don’t chose, as long as you do not harm anyone who might not belong to the same religion as you.
