It doesn't matter as far as I'm aware. It's a potential legal issue, but the ban would be nothing to do with a country's laws, it's an FA ruling. They're a business, so if they have reason to ban him, they just can. Still, we don't know yet for sure that he did it

Have you ever betted your whole bank account on caicedo getting a yellow card? I don't think so mate. This is a criminal investingation. It's known as fraud, match fixing is a form of corruption/fraud. I've watched a game where paqueta just was getting subbed off and before coming off on the sideline he was like "oh I forgot to get booked" and he was like wait is it me and stood still like a melon till the ref pulled out the 🟡

Sounds overkill but there's precedent for this sort of thing in English football. I forget the name of the player but I remember a guy that got a ten year ban & he was only found guilty of one charge of spot fixing whereas Paqueta has four.

The greed of bookmakers is repulsive. Maybe he did it, maybe he didn't but the fact is he should never have the chance. There are 100s of options to bet on the minutae of any football match, (even at high semi pro level). Of course this type of thing is going to happen. There is a gambling epidemic in football, which is actively supported by Sky, TNT, most media and all the clubs. It is shocking. When they find someone who may have taken advantage of the opportunity their greed offers, they and their pals at the FA levy out extreme punishments. Disgusting.
