Managing Real Madrid is the hardest job. You’re dealing with massive egos, the president, the media scrutiny is non stop. You’ve got media outlets there printing newspapers dedicated solely to Real Madrid every single day. The fans expectations are the highest. And if you don’t win a trophy like the league or CL you will most likely be sacked, regardless of how well you may have done the season before. Winning the league wasn’t even enough for Capello to keep his job in 2007, it wasn’t enough for Carlo to win the Copa del rey and CL in 2014 and then end the season trophyless in 2015. At most clubs you get leeway if you’ve proven it at the club, there it’s what are you doing right now. Most ruthless sports institution I’ve seen

The reality of the situation is that on paper we go to tournaments with one of the best teams but for some reason we never play to our potential.

Harry Redknapp would have been Kevin Keegan mkII. Good motivator and man manager but not known for being strategic or a particularly tactical operator. The best international teams and coaches would have exposed his weaknesses.

England are always the favourites in ENGLISH bookies because ENGLISH punters lob cash on them, that's how prices are set. They ain't the favourites in Brazilian, French, German bookies etc. The delusion amount some people when it comes to England is off the scale 🙄

Southgate was given so much slsck as England manager, he wouldn't have lasted half as long in Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Brazil, Argentina, Netherlands. So no he's had an easy ride.

Don't be ridiculous, managing England is hard?, easy group draws, easy finals draws, easy pathways to finals, screw up at end, lots of time off between games, absolutely no pressure, compare to EPL manager, waiting to be sacked

this man has brain damage. you just have to not cause a massive PR scandal and the press and fans will forgive you for not doing anything of note just look at southgate.
