He was great! But apples to oranges. Wishbone was mechanical right or left due to match-up, hand off or pitch or keep. But passing game is extremely complex. Lots of moving parts going multiple places depending on coverage, timing on passes depending on distance with blitzes etc etc etc etc

The Big 12 had two teams that recruited in the top 10. OU and Texas. That's it. In the SEC Oklahoma is currently somewhere between 4th and 6th in recruiting with several other SEC teams on our heels. OU is absolutely being disrespected and underrated. But don't make that same mistake and underestimate the SEC. The level of athletes in the SEC is a major step up from the Big 12

just a random thing to mention, but for all OU fans go watch the spring play by play, and look on the offensive line. jake sexton is an abosulte terror. no one got passed him. he has first round potential in my opinion along with nwewu.

Being an unashamedly Oklahoma homer, I have been chomping at the bit for any talk of Andy Bass. Hopefully his recovery/ rehab is going well. I’m really looking forward to seeing him in the RB rotation.

Andy blew his knee out in the state championship game. Hard to imagine he'll be a factor this season.

@@OK_Breakdown, I knew about the knee, but I’ve heard nothing regarding his rehab. Watching some film of him in high school got me amped up towards the end of last season. I just hope he makes it back bigger, stronger, and better. I had 2025 in mind when thinking of his contributions, as well as Mr Hicks.

Jackson Arnold is less important than the success of our running game. If we dont run better than we have in recent years, he’s gonna killed no matter how well he plays. Look at Stafford the Lions. Had one thousand yard rusher in his time there

Oklahoma HS track and field does it the same as the Olympics. When I was in HS our Regional Track meet was way out in the ridiculously windy panhandle of OK. They take the top 3 qualifiers from each region. We finished 4th but yet our times were faster than the Regional winners in other regions. So, even though we were faster than these other regions (in the ridiculously windy panhandle of OK) we had to watch the state meet from the bleachers……. Fair isn’t always fair, but I do agree with you guys 100%.

I'm not sure the whole season rides on Jackson's shoulders. That is way too much pressure put on him. I think our defense can take some of that pressure off him. It's not like we HAVE to score every time like back in the TBOW days.

As a big rugby fan I appreciate the attention it’s getting! As far as popularity, there’s kind of an interesting split between the southern hemisphere and northern hemisphere teams. In the southern hemisphere the big teams are New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa, then the smaller pacific island teams have varying levels of success. In the northern hemisphere Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, and France are consistently pretty good (although Wales is having a rough time rn). I know they’re working to grow the game in Asia in places like Japan, but they’re in kind of the same spot we’re in. It’s not very popular and most of their best athletes pursue other sports. If you’re a football fan definitely give rugby a shot. There are a few strange rules but overall it’s a fairly simple game to follow, you can definitely see the similarities between American football and rugby.

Gabe: Your comment "If this team was still in the Big 12, the conversation would be winning the conference & going to the playoff.." - Yes, but the other side of the coin is the recruiting would likely not have put this team together in the Big 12. So many of the defensive players committing / committed are coming to OU due to being able to play in the SEC. My take is that this team wouldn't have existed in the Big 12, at least not in its current form, even with this coaching staff

I’m not sure we need A Single RB as RB-1 ?? We do have an exciting group. Several guys are great catching the ball out of back field, Several Hogs to root out those short yardage runs, Home run threats if they get clear they are gone !!! It would make it easier if a single person was our best at all if these things BUT I really like what we have as a group !!! We also need backs that can and will protect our QB and block both at the line and down field !! So again I love our group as a whole !! Using our RB’s as a multi-headed Monster may also help reduce injuries and help keep them fresher fir the season ???
