@kingmike79655 жыл бұрын
@@GabrielTravelerVideos no dude, the current borders are actually what's left from our other lost parts of our historical country. You can say the last independent Armenia was in year 1375 AD , and there wasn't a country until the early 1920's . Everything else you said was right
@GabrielTravelerVideos5 жыл бұрын
@@kingmike7965 Yes, that's what I meant. The current borders of Armenia were created during the 20th century, but modern-day Armenia is just a small part of the Armenian empire throughout history.
@Rose_333_Buds4 жыл бұрын
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Many of those monasteries and churches used to be Albanian (yes, there was a Christian country named Albania in the Caucasus) but the Russian tsar Nicholas II signed a decree that moved all the Albanian Christians under the auspices of the armenian monophysite church. So, that's how all those ancient Albanian Churches were virtually overnight turned into the Armenian "historical and cultural heritage". The Armenia you visited has nothing to do with the Armenian kingdom and or the real history of these ppl. The place you visited is an artificial creation of the Soviet Era. That's why you won't see any really ancient ruins, old walls or citadels in Yerevan that they claim has thousands of yrs of history - if are there any historic buildings in that city, they're the remnants of the capital of the Erivan khanate, that was conquered by the Russians btwn 1820-30-s. Anyhow, it's too of a long and twisted story for the comment section. The only suggestion I'd make though - don't believe all the "Armenian history" you were taught in there. It's based on fibs rather than facts. P.S.: I visited Yerevan three times during the Soviet times and should compliment you - you definitely know how to present a boring little place, to put it mildly, as an exciting and interesting place to be discovered ;)
