It's 50 years since my first visit to Kathmandu. It was fascinating. Loved it so much. Been back to Nepal 4 times since. Beautiful memories. Kathmandu guest house or freak street were the places to stay. Marihuana was growing around the palace gates. Could have a hash cake made at any little corner shop. I've seen the changes over the years. Not all good.

Kathmandu is one of the oldest/ ancient city at the foothill of Himalayas... It is also called the "City of Temples" - it is the melting point of Hinduism and Buddhism - both have been living side by side peacefully - influencing one another, since many centuries. But it is very over-crowded now, & starting to lose its ancient charm.

Very interesting almost melancholy comment. How much the world has changed in not even 2 and a half years practically. I noticed some people wearing masks in the street scenes. But some people wore masks in Nepal for allergies or to protect from pollutants in the air. Little did they know it would soon become the norm.

Kathmandu has a lively vibe, it's pretty noisy and looks hectic but is chilled at the same time, the beautiful shrines, food corners, pretty shops and overall relaxed people, what I love is even just wandering around the streets for no reason is very fascinating, as a person who lived in Kathmandu for 10 years and is badly missing the noise and the crowd, I loved how this video captures the raw feeling of the streets and bazaar of Kathmandu. If only the construction work of roads, the huge mess of electric wires and the motorbikes could be managed, Kathmandu would be even more magical.

Brings back my memories of being in Nepal in Nov. 2018....EBC trek. This was a dream of mine since 1971. Unfortunately on the 3rd day of the trek I had a very bad fall injuring my right wrist, arm and shoulder. It had MAJOR swelling. Got to Namche and took a helicopter to Lukla for a trip back to Kathmandu so I could go to the hospital. Nothing like have a life long dream come to a screeming halt . It was like I got kicked in the jaw. It hurts to this day that my dream came up short. Loved what I saw...very eye opening...so beautiful

@@Swaraaz-Bhatta-Rai From my perspective it looks as if the vibe that was there is pretty much disappeared...i just think it was more authentic back in the day. I traveled around a lot back then and things are so different now, seems that everyone is enjoying traveling now and i'm happy for them but for me it looks crazy. I think that anyone that experienced Nepal and Indian in the 60's or 70's would agree it was a more wonderful vibe.

sir your video about nepal is pretty beautiful but i would like to draw your attention... you say "generally means India". why you say that? Why generally means India? Do you have poor knowledge that Nepal is a sovereign country never been colonized while india once is in British control.. while there was a country Nepal there was no India.. so Nepal 🇳🇵 is Nepal not generally means India. Don't speak such thing again
