I've been using reflex balls for about two years now quite frequently, i feel like it really helps the footwork and makes it easy to practice moving and punching at the same time :)

I flinch a lot during sparring and I way I’ve tried to combat this is throwing the ball straight and blocking or slipping it while keeping eyes focused. A more advanced step might be parrying/countering as it comes back towards me. Hopefully this helps someone. Thank you for the awesome videos! 🤙

I’ve noticed another good advanced drill is focusing on a point in the distance and hitting the ball without looking at the ball with your centralized vision. I feel like it helped me see hits that are coming from my peripheral vision and react to them with more certainty. Also to get the rhythm down I noticed that sitting down and practicing the feel of it while watching tv is helpful, because then when adding it to training it’ll be a little more fast pace after that week-month period of getting it down.

I walk down the street doing this lol.A great tool the thai's used to do this because they had a hard time affording. Equipment i like to tie it to the ceiling and hit it.you will learn to block,head movement,hand and i coordation and learn how to put your knucks into your punchs it works great.

Better late than never. Just bought one and on the box it says the elastic under tension should place the ball around crotch area. Guess it depends on the elastic/ball.

I hobby kickboxed most of my life and still i never tried this, now when gym's are closed and I'm getting out of shape it's a perfect time to try this, I'm not good at training when it's not fun but this looks entertaining.you have a lot of good tips

Thanks. It's very low on my list of training priorities but as you said now is the perfect time. Reflex ball, shadow boxing and following along with my at home kickboxing workouts is helping me stay sharp.

Bought one of these today, tried it and yeah; not as easy as I thought it would be. Watching you do it made my jaw drop. You make it look ridiculously easy! @@faiz7180 I bought padded training gloves. I knew a boxer who always criticised me for not using wraps. He was right. My hands are stiff these days and I regret not listening. Look after your hands. Also without something covering the knuckles the ball will bounce off them at odd angles, so padding helps with that.

Thank you for video. All reflex balls different. Some on amazon are easier than others because of action of elastic. The most advanced one I found is title boxing’s one with smallest ball. But making your own is great if great too.

My son got one of these on two days ago. I’ve used it so much I’m already on the “advanced” level. It’s easier to do if you wear hand wraps or gloves as the ball doesn’t ricochet off your knuckles so it’s easier to control.

My knuckles are red now. Also it started to hurt while hitting. I used wristbands and basic cotton gloves. Still this happened. I used a bit of ice but this issue makes it uncomfortable to train. Is this smth what will improve as the body/hands get used to this kind of training?

Your knuckles will get use to it but when they start getting sore use your body gloves. I just tried with boxing gloves to see if it works and it definitely does. Protect those hands.

I play the guitar and found the same issue trying to play the next day, however you do get use to it. I started with boxing gloves, then when with wraps.....still training and got my guitar fingers back. The body will heal itself and be made stronger when tested. Stay well. Stay healthy!

Hmmm. I like the tennis ball as the weight behind it is minimal. I’ve definitely been hit before but the impact is minimal. You could wear a mouth guard to be cautious. Just keep your mouth closed. But tennis ball is probably better

There is yet another level of training with this. Use this reflex ball while using boxing resistance bands. You can make those for cheap price if you find cheap resistance cords on internet.
