Tips in the video: 1. Do not throw every shot with maximum power . throw combination, a couple of jabs with 70% and then 1 shot with 100% . create angles, throw some light shots and then power shot to a vulnerable spot 2. Do not hold your breath . Learn to breathe properly when throwing combinations . Learn to breathe properly when putting up a guard against incoming attacks 3. Refine your technique and footwork . Keep refining them with shadowboxing in the mirror or doing drills . Do not solely rely on your muscles, a good proper technique {kicking or punching etc} can replicate the exact power you can throw without taxing your cardiovascular system 4. Learn to relax even when you're defending . Do not tense yourself whenever you are fighting, learn to take a step back or get in a comfortable position so you can get back some of your breath . Learn to relax even when you're defending against incoming attacks from your opponent, but do not get off your guard or your opponent can take advantage of that to throw some powerful shots through holes in your guard or take your arm away from defending your chin or body

Just being able to relax between combos and exchanges helps a lot. Inexperienced guys are typically stiff which in itself drains the tank. I love showcasing all your belts. Most impressive.

Temple steps and many consecutive rounds of sparring works for me. Once I started long distance road work it changed my life. Then I started running in the heat of the day, then with a sauna suit on in the Thai sun. I broke something that blocked my spiritual energy and now my cardio is off the charts. Now though, Temple Steps!

What are temple steps?
@UncleSamSiam5 ай бұрын
@@MarianaReinders in Thailand, many Buddhist temples are on hills or mountains and have decorative steps at their base leading up to the temple itself.

I swear I need to get into shape, ima decent striker with some good instincts but none of that matters when in 2 minutes I can feel my heartbeat in my teeth and i feel like ima puke. Thanks for the extra tips to work on that, I appreciate your videos and I got my friend to start watching them too.

I really need to work in my stamina while on defense, now that you pointed it out I think I am doing way too much and throwing too many powerful hits when I don't need to.
@aayushsangwan7295 ай бұрын
You need to not put power in every shot and sometimes go light , fast shots for a power shot. Like a liver shot . Fast 1 2 hard liver shot

Bruh Im fat as fuck and got the same problem. Dropped out of muay thai classes because I felt like throwing up after every time. Pretty much most of Google and YT says you need to do zone 2 cardio (walking, running, backpacking, cycling, rowing) for like 2-4 hours a week. HIIT is also important once or twice a week. Keeping lean and eating healthy is obviously a big factor too.

me too man... I get so fucking mad at myself when i gas out, its frustating 😅

From my own experience of building cardio for combat competition. It's always how you handle your mental state first. Being nervous about cardio itself tires you out. It will take a certain amount of time to build a decent reliable base of cardio and you have to accept that first and work and experiment on your own to improve. Being great at running long miles sometimes doesn't equate to being great at combat cardio. A grapplers cardio and strikers cardio is also different. Developing a calm methodical mindset in all levels of fatigue is to me arguably harder. You've accepted the fight will be hard and it may go distance. You and your trainers and coaches should develop a system to get you there.

Totally agree! You can be used to running marathons but still gass out quickly because of stress and panic, resulting in not relaxing and breathing in between. As you said, it all starts in the mind. In my experience, being exposed to a level of pressure and danger you can still handle and then lightly increasing the dose each time you drill or sparr, is a good way of getting used to it and staying as calm as possible = consuming less energy and getting enough oxigene into your system.

That’s great advice about your mental state! I started kickboxing 2 months ago, severely out of shape. I think my background in yoga helps. Hard punches in spurts, then slower punches/kicks, while taking a deep slow breath and using my mind to slow my heart rate.

My coach told me to pick my power punches, not all punches should be thrown with power. Some are to for set-ups etc. Like when you throw a jab, it depends on your gameplan.

Fast, crisp strikes at 50-75% speed and power still hurt and they add up if you land a lot.

Sparring rounds are deff the true test how my cardio conditioning is . Very exhausting compared to just drills n pad work.. Great tips here. I need to better understand energy output during strikes and moderate which ones should have more power over others.

Depends on the padwork and drills, though 😉
