I'm a big fan of Liam but I think he's a massive underdog in this one. Recently Liam has looked like age has started catching up to him (no disrespect, it happens to everyone) whereas Nong-O is somehow looking sharper and sharper every fight. I think Nong-O's defence is too tight for him to get caught early (although it's always possible) and he'll figure out Liam's timing and probably stop him in the mid-late rounds. That said, very excited to see these two legends go at it!
@vyronphillips45682 жыл бұрын
I don’t mean any disrespect by my comment why didn’t you accept the offer to fight Liam it’s honestly a fight fan fight to make. Both of you are legends in my book. Again I meant no disrespect, I got TKO against Roy jones jr in my professional boxing debut so There’s no way I can troll you.

There is an instructional video by him somewhere on how he executes the low kick .... You basically nailed the theory behind it .... The only thing he elaborated on was the timing, namely he waits for his opponent to step forward therefore placing most of the bodyweight on the front foot ... He knows this split second makes it difficult for the opponent to raise the leg to check.

Wow! I had no idea about the history of you two. What a true gent and professional you are for doing this Gabe...especially a week before his big fight. That’s true warrior spirit and respect there, and I hope Liam sees this video. That’s some genuine homage from one champ to another. ✊ Honestly? I think Liam’s probably a little envious of how ‘clean’/nice you seem Gabriel...and how solid, balanced, and ‘easy’ your upbringing appears to have been. 🤷♂️ I could be totally wrong, but I feel that Liam’s had a tough life...and perhaps he might feel like he’s ‘earned’ his toughness more? That’s purely my gut instinct on it. As a guy from an imbalanced upbringing myself. You’re both absolutely amazing, and BOTH super tough motherf😲😲kers. Probably just irritates Liam that you’re so damn good AND tough, and you’ve had a great upbringing too...but I could be totally incorrect too. 🤭✌️🙏

Gabriel you say you don't like the expression go out on your shield, but do you know where it comes from? It was a spartan phrase. The shield was a soldiers most important piece of equipment as it was used to hold the shield wall, and as such it was of vital importance for not only the protection of himself, but also the men around him. If a soldier came back without a shield the rest would know the battle was lost, and he had fled throwing away his most imporant asset. If one came home with his shield he was a victor. If a soldier came home upon his shield he died in battle which was the highest honor. Since you are a strong advocate of making sure your defence is on point before you start competing, I though it would be a phrase you would like.

Off topic I train Muay Thai and one of the teep drills are to stick the teep out and hold for 3 seconds. I can’t get my leg to decent height level. Is this a mobility issue or just keep doing teep drills? Thanks
@jasonofathens22542 жыл бұрын
I also train, and would say it's both. Part of it is your core, another is your hip flexor, another is your quads. If you insist on doing it properly, even if you can't do it as much, it'll get better. Do you try pushing with your core to get the leg up, and also move hip forward when you teep?
@LizardK19832 жыл бұрын
@@jasonofathens2254 I do try with my core and hip. I can get the teep up if I’m sparring or throwing it quick but when I have to hold it out for a few seconds in drills it’s so low. I’ll stretch my quads out more and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the reply
