Hi Gabriel, I'm a 30 y/o former couch potato who started boxing/kickboxing almost exactly a year ago. Your channel, tips, tricks and tutorials helped me so much to make consistant weekly progress over this whole year. Yesterday I was able to kick with my foot on head level for the very first time, also thanks your high kick follow along tutorials. So, fitting for this occasion, I just wanted to say: thank you for your channel, you are great and you have another fan. Greetings from germany.

Hi Gabriel I was wondering if you could do a video on Feinting whether it's how much of your training should be spent on them or just some general tips. Keep up the good content as always been following the channel since around 2020.

Great channel! Can you do a video on the use of straight knees in sparring? Controlling them when things escalate is really hard. Especially when facing new partners.

Hi there, I'm training muay thai since 1 month and watched tens of your videos. 8 days ago another student kicked me hard on the back of my left leg, just above the knee. After 8 days the pain is almost as much as the first day. Is that normal? I'm not limping and I can pretty much do anything, but when I flex my leg or say seated for a while, it really hurts!

I was limping regularly the first 3 months. One time couldnt jog for 2 weeks (missed my bus because of it lol). It will go away on its own due to conditioning. You can cool it with ice in a plasticbag or use cold showers

I had similar issue after three point blocking a kick, but the pain was on my forearm. It went away after a few weeks but if it persists or gets worse consider getting it checked out. Stay safe!

I have such a hard time training myself to keep my head away when I do roundkicks, I instinctively keep my torso straight and wish I had a good way to train keeping it back.
@GabrielVargaOfficial Жыл бұрын
Probably need to really focus on hips and shoulders staying in line. Try slowing down the round kick technique and use a chair for balance as you do it.

Hey Gabriel, I just got into Muay thai about 2.5 months ago. Your channel has been a true source of great info. I have a question about distance for tall guys. I am about 6'2", most of the people I spare are smaller. And lately I have been getting knee checked in the shin or my knee while throwing round houses. My coach said i might be too close while throwing. Just wondering what you think taller fighters should focus on during sparing? Is my leg length a disadvantage while close up with a smaller fighter? Thanks, man.

In light sparring do you close your fists when you punch or leave hands loose?
@ancientdarkness3102 Жыл бұрын
Ive always kept my hands pretty loose when light sparring, except when i go for the body (hitting an elbow with your relaxed knuckles is not a good idea)
@whoknows8223 Жыл бұрын
Always close to not injure hands. Just not that speed and most important not so much follow through.

Hi Gabriel! I have this question for a long time and i have been always thinking to myself what's the best answer. You could really help! I usually have my hands open when i'm guarding my cheek but after puching, i somethimes come back with an open hand and sometimes with a closed hand. It feels really weird sometimes and i feel like it's taking away from my speed. I'm very self conscious about it and i lose my focus training because i don't know if i should come back with it closed or open! It feels much better to have it open, i feel more protected. It's awkard for me to shadowbox with it closed too, i feel like hands closed are protecting nothing and is getting my muscles too tense. And visually!! I find it so much more satisfying visually to see people with open hands

What are the best ways to condition your legs for tip number 4?
@AlexN2022 Жыл бұрын
For *solo* thigh conditioning - at gym or at home - you can bounce one of those maces, 10 or 15 pounds, off of your thigh. The correct technique is not as much to hit your thigh with the mace as hit the mace with your thigh. And you can really hit all the angles and spots you need.
