Great reaction and great rating, this song is a bit different from their other songs, but not that different as they have other songs that are a bit more jazzy. One of things that I really love about them is that when they release a live album, they don't "fix" the vocals. When I listen to music, I want to hear the actual vocals, without all that "pitch correction" crap. Live music is supposed to be "live". Thanks for the review.

Thanks DH - this was a fun watch. When I first heard this on the 13th anniversary live stream it was so cool and different I just had to upload it so that more people could hear it. I was pretty sure you'd enjoy the jazz feel and appreciate the difference in approach - that was the main purpose of me choosing this one for the request, as well as the fact Oreo said last year this was her favourite current song to play. I was worried that you'd score it down for the live show though! Happily you ignored that on this occasion 😆 In terms of Angie, you'll get no arguments from me. Her tone is so sweet, yet she has lots of power and depth - she expresses emotion fantastically, as well as having the rap and growling aspects too...makes her my favourite singer right now

The Gacharic Spin ladies showing their diversity in song writing and importantly, the ability to play it live. As with you, I picked up very quickly on the light jazzy feel of this Rabbit Hole song. I wonder if it would end up similar to Ganbanba Dance 😃 Not really knowing many jazz bands, thank you for your revelation about the Rippingtons, with respect to this song. They are a band I will have to explore. Amazing score from you, as you did not really mention any of your usual five boxes, to help a score go up the scale. As you mentioned the bar is high with Gacharic Spin and I hope people listen to your comment about Hana's singing with respect to this particular song only. No gushing from me with respect to Angie and Oreo this time. 😍😍

The date is the 8th of October. That's when they do their anniversary shows which this was part of. For the past few years they've been streaming them live and there's a new one coming tuesday next week for the 15th anniversary. As for Angie, here official title is mic performer. I agree that she's a good singer and there are a couple of songs where she gets to shine. Mukaikaze from the previous year is one that comes to mind. Now that I think of it, that might be a good double reaction together with the original from the first anniversary.

That version of Mukaikaze is so beautiful, though I wonder if it would be too stripped down for DH - agree it would be a great comparison to the original, though I'd personally compare against the 2018 Tokyo Dome live with Oreo burger :)

Regarding Angie singing melody @David: I'd like to remind you of "MindSet" and "I wish I" which had Angie singing lead with lots of melodic parts. But I always welcome appraisals of Angie's wide-ranging vocal abilities :)

Smb mentioned that yes it is October 8th. Japan writes dates in the Year/Month/Day format.

And I'm not Japanese, but I tried to copy the format that they use for their videos!

Many of the songs of the 13th anniversary stand out to me as unusually creative in a jazzy and proggy way, but unfortunately never committed to an album (Infinity, New Leaf, Rust, Yarukkyanai, Parallell Loop, A La La). I second the recommendation of Mukaikaze from the 12th, amazing piece of soul music.
@homegnome2429Ай бұрын
Parallel loop will be on the new album at least 🤩
@tobiashammarback5301Ай бұрын
Parallell Loop would probably annoy David. That could be fun.

@@tobiashammarback5301 I actually think he might dig it, but hard to know exactly where the proggy/chaotic cut-off point is as per Nanmaida 🤣

Great review and I agree with you about Angie's singing. In my opinion, I not only feel a lot of emotion in her voice, but also in her facial expressions when compared to other singers. Yes, this song is more jazzy than the typical GS song but they do have two others that come to mind. Mirai Ronso, where Angie also takes a very active vocal part, and the instrumental "I Want to Take a Walk" which showcases Tomo-zo. GS also includes occasional jazz elements in many of their other songs. As for the Rippingtons, I had a couple of their CD's many decades ago. I think I am going to find them on KZbin for another listen.
