I didn’t have a lot of trouble with synapse. it crashed once while updating. But then it updated just fine. Got the headset up on synapse and altered the mic and EQ settings just fine too! It worked greatly and I’m happy. For me - I only use sound canceling and sidetone on the mic. Every other mic setting is turned off. I would recommend making sure that noise gate is OFF. Trust me, the sound cancelling is enough! I’m on PS5. My friends say that my son sounds really really far away even when he is talking to me normally in the same room. Other mics would sound like he is on the mic too hahaha. My friends tell me that it is the best most clear mic they have ever heard me use. Happy! Satisfied! Everything! Thanks y’all! I hope this helped you decide!

My question is, can you adjust the microphone settings without using Synapse ? Lol. I have a MAC and Synapse isn’t available on MAC. My Blackshark V2 Pros arrive Wednesday so I’ll be curious to see how it goes.
@bystander7114 Жыл бұрын
@@ScubaProDiver you’ll need synapse in order to get the options adjusted and saved onto the onboard memory chip in the headset. I do not know much else to help your question tbh. I use this for PS5 solely. Yes I can Bluetooth to my phone or use it on windows but I don’t do it often. Just ps5. If I were you, I’d borrow a close friend or family members windows and let them know you’ll uninstall the app when finished. Also, I googled about it - looks like synapse 2 can be installed on Mac, but I don’t think this headset with be detected on synapse 2? No idea. Best of luck :) it’s a great headset out the box anyway it has some EQ’s pre installed, and the mic is wonderful!

5:15 I am so happy you are mentioning this. I cannot stress this enough - comfortable headsets for glasses are SO rare. I'm currently wearing Black Shark V2 + usb sound card (wired) and my rabbit chewed the cable, so only one side works, which is why I'm looking for the wireless option. These are SO! INCREDIBLY! COMFORTABLE! Previous headsets had me tearing up because of how bad my frames would hurt my head. I couldn't wear a pair for more than 2h. Including Razer Kraken X. But Black Shark are just...the best. By far the most comfortable headset I have ever purchased. I just wish there was a pink option for these.

Yeah, for this reason only, i have underwent a LASIK procedure x) And then i bought the Blackshark V2 Pro... Well, at least in case of an car accident, i wont get my eyes gouged out. No for real, headsets that don't mangle your mandibular joints/push your spectacles deep inside your skull are so freaking rare. Eating with Corsair Voids on my dome was a nightmare. The Blacksharks just feel like nothing's on your head. And they cling to your head just enough, I could comfortably workout with them at home during covid era. And i heard the 2023 edition is even more streamlined with the earcup filling. I'm drooling for the updated version. If anyone's wondering, after 28 months of daily 4 hour (at least) use, the battery still holds up well. Iam at 18 hour regular volume use time. It sounds puny but still, that's at least 2 days of heavy use. With more volume, this drops drastically. Should not be a problem on the 2023 edition with USB-C charging WHICH IS WAY FASTER. The old version takes about two hours to top up. Well, there goes another paycheck x)

I've had this headset for two months (2023 edition), and I'm not recommending it, I've also had the squeaking noise from the vide, and it turned into the plastic just disintegrating where the yoke meets the headband, that's where the noises came from in the video as well. Not a user error, as I did not threw it around the room, when it was off it sat on a headphone stand and the desk. This seems like a QC issue to me, as the plastic did not broke but disintegrated into small pieces/dust, even the screwthreads broke inside there. Apart from this it sounded great, and mic was good as well, with great battery life, and never had issues with synapse.

As someone who is a huge nerd when it comes to video game accessories and spends too much money on these things I can give my two cents on a few of the “top” headsets on the market right now. 1. SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless - fantastic headset. Sound quality is great but if you’re a console gamer I actually wouldn’t suggest it. What makes the headset so great is the Sonar software which isn’t available for console. You can use the included DAC to make 1 custom EQ profile and use the built-in EQ profiles and that’s about it. Still a great headset. 2. Turtle Beach Stealth Pro - Pretty much just released at the end of April and this headset is a gaming headset. Especially for console gamers. No need to use the software on PC/MAC since they have the Turtle Beach app and everything you do on the app transfers to the headset for use on console. Create a custom EQ for sound and your Mic and you even have their “Superhuman Hearing” which I say put to “footsteps” mode and lower it to 30-40% for best results. If you want a headset for single player games and FPS and you are a console gamer this is probably the top headset to get on the market but has a steep price tag. 3. Audeze Maxwell - don’t own this headset. Don’t plan on owning it. Not my style of audio but have watched a couple reviews on it and can see that it primarily excels at music/movie listening with gaming second. Software/app not as user friendly as Turtle Beach. Also not readily available to purchase. You can drop $400+ to wait for your headset to drop in June and who wants to wait that long 4. Razer Blackshark V2 Pro - my pair is arriving this Wednesday so I can’t speak on audio quality but Im curious to see how these “pro EQ” profiles sound and if they’re any good. Pretty much purchased it for that and the incredible mic quality. Notable mentions of headsets I own but didn’t talk about - Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX, Sony InZone H9, Astro A30s. All great in their own way but definitely none of them are the top tier in gaming audio if you want FPS but all pretty good for single player games. If you read all this then you made it to the end ✌️

At first I thought +34 mins, no way...but now I'm happy I stuck around. Really complete to the point review. Could've done with some deeper thoughts on the in-game surround sound experience though, because I find that much more important than the microphone (which I barely use). In comparison, the Logitech G935 I had for a couple of years was super at 3D positional audio, but the SteelSeries Arctis 9x I recently bought (and immediately sent back) was horrible. Still not sure if I should go with this 2023 Blackshark V2 Pro 2023.

Just got one of these from Amazon (came in yesterday). Downloaded Synapse and got the latest firmware for the headset (from July). Regarding the usual complaints I see from some commenters every time someone talks about these: No Synapse software crashes at all over several hours of messing around with it, no strange hissing sounds when using PS5, no issues connecting to Bluetooth on an Apple TV unit, on my PC, or my PS5, no issues with latency, no issues with connecting to the dongle from 5 feet away on either my PC (I also sit on the couch when gaming on my PC and use wireless keyboard and MMO mouse from there) or the PS5. They sound GREAT and are as comfortable as everyone says. I might have gotten the Logitech G Pro x2 Lightspeed headset instead, but I didn’t want to spend 50.00 more after already spending 200.00. I got an extended warranty simply because some people always complain about these headphones, but it seems there may have been quality control issues in those cases. I love mine so far, and I’m glad I made the purchase.

Got this and I agree with you mostly , the mic is very good, sidetone is bad although not as bad as yours seemed to be but you can instantly hear that initial buzz from it, vocal clarity is great and so is mic noise cancellation. I had no issues with the software as of yet. The initial sound on it is a little spikey and uncomfortable, I had to tone things down, not as much as you did but close. It feels lighter than I thought it would so thats good. Overall i'm happy with it so far, the main disappointment for me is the slight muddiness that seems to be there most of the time but I havent fully played with the eq so I may get it to a level where its not too bad. When you're listening to music there is some nice airyness and instrument separation but it lacks any clarity and punch otherwise to make it the headphones I'd go to for any music listening session.

@@Jack_80 there’s minor frequency changes you can make to improve the sound but you don’t need to, the standard eq setting sounds really good overall, although it is free and easy to use synapse on a laptop/ pc and can make it sound like a whole new headset quality wise (Just follow a KZbinr doing it on theirs) I use a shitty little laptop and it went from sounding already good to extremely crisp and clear, better than any headset I’ve used, most newer headsets use some kind of eq software anyway but these take it to another level and youl appreciate it if you dive into it. Can't believe they removed the 3.5mm jack. Now doesn't work with Xbox at all. I hate when companies have headsets with wired USB charging but don't support wired USB audio. Doesn't make any sense. Also there is no listening benefit to 24 bit depth audio. It doesn't hurt but it doesn't help either. And high sample rates above 48 actually hurt the listening experience. There is no benefit. SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless looks good but a bit expensive for me and I don't want to have any additional stuff on my table. I don't care about bluetooth or ANC, I will use it only with my PC via dongle. Mic is pretty important as I play mostly shooters with teammates and I don't plan to buy an external mic. Also I need to be sure that I can go to another room without any issues with sound (~15m radius). Budget is about 200 Eur. Now I'm choosing between SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 and Razer Blackshark V2 Pro 2023. How do you think? Or maybe there is some other better options? Thanks in advance👍

Thanks for the detailed review. I come from using studio reference headphones (e.g. Sony MDR-7506 and JD Audio IEMs), but have been looking for a wireless headset with mic for couch gaming on PC only. Which brand and model would you recommend that's the most hassle free (i.e. minimal or no software) and balanced frequency response that would be a good fit for a discerning listener like myself?

So what do you think is better to use the new blackshark v2 or the Rocca syn pro wireless headset.

@GadgetryTech Жыл бұрын
Stealth Pro has better sound than the Blackshark V2 Pro. Blacksharks have a bass boost but it makes the mid range kind of dark and doesn't seem to have as much detail. The Pros still have some nice bass but are much more clear sounding.

I bought this headset and returned it a few days later. For me it just doesn’t get loud enough. Tested on Bluetooth and 2.4. Left me wanting another 15-25% volume. Everything else was great.

I don't think anyone else mentioned that they have removed the 3.5 mm headphone jack, that's kind of a bummer even with bluetooth.

Bought these and have an absolutely horrific static noise when no audio is playing. Sad since there seems to be no fix even though there are forum posts going back 3-5 months. Returning these tomorrow and truly dissapointed that this white noise issue keeps persisting. I had the same issue with the Logitech Pro X wireless too... Just sad for a 240€ (local price) headset.

Do anyone else notice white noise all the time, when the headset is turnet on? I can't figure out how resolve it. I read something about the audio-knop being the problem, because it only adjusts the windows-sound and not the headset seperatly...

Just found you recently and had to see your review on this one. Great job on breaking it down like all other videos and glad I did pick this one for my headset at home. I been loving it and the mic quality is the main thing I wanted. Now just gotta see how this mic compares to the new headsets coming out lol. Some can tell microphone is not better but seeing in comment for the astros 5th gen and X. So can't wait to see how those are since I use astros a50s at work. Which I was not as impress with so hoping the 5th gen and X do. Especially at those price ranges

Awesome vid as always man, never aplogize for giving us knowledge on headsets man, I always which your entire vids, very informative. One question, well a request, can you make a dac vid for the ps5 or xbox consoles, like the G6 or the shiit one, if you have them. What ever you have, lol. I am not a big fan of wireless headsets. Also dont know if you have seen the new Astro's A50's pic leak, looks the same but the the base station has 2 hdmi ports, no more optical. Anyways great vid as always man.

The issues with cod are probably related to the in-game settings of call of duty. Go to the mic settings in call of duty and make sure that your mic is maxed out.
@GadgetryTech Жыл бұрын
It was maxed out at 100, with open mic threshold set to zero. I appreciate the tips though, as you never know! I tried 3 other headsets that same night, and none of them had the same issue as the Blackshark which was really odd.

I also commented on your Steal 700 Gen 2 Max video, but just in case you don't see it....I am looking to upgrade my headset to either the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max, or the Razer Blackshark V2 PRO Wireless. I don't have an XBOX so I am not too worried about compatibility with that since I have a PC. I know they are in the same price range. In your opinion which headset is overall better in audio quality and practicality? I would be using this headset for PC gaming and and work conference calls since I work remotely. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Great video! If you had to choose between the blackshark v2 pro 2023 and the epos h6pro (open) which one would you choose from a sound and mic standpoint? Have the bsv2 pro and not sure if I should return it and switch it for an epos.

@@DeadCard First i went with the razer but i don’t like closed back even if it is a great headset. Would totally recommend. Then i bought the h6 pro and it was horrible. The sound is super bad, volume too low, mic good. I went back to my old sennheiser game one which sounds amazing compared to the epos h6 pro. Go with razer if you need to choose between them.

Awesome review, you really deserve more subs! Do you have any recommendations on Discord settings when using your Mic eq?
@GadgetryTech Жыл бұрын
Honestly I haven't done too much on the mic EQ lately, but it can also come down to how your voice sounds (deeper vs higher pitch). I typically reduce low bass, add 2-3 dB to the 100-125hz region, reduce 1khz and 2khz by 2dB, and go from there. That often takes away the nasal sound most gaming headset mics have.
