Yes, the stealth 600 gen 2 doesn't have separate mic and audio. So if you lowered the volume for audio to try to listen to just the people talking, you won't hear them.

It picks up both whispers and soft talking. Just tried again to confirm :) I recorded an audio clip where I whispered softly and it still picked it up and played back clear enough to hear it easily.

I'll never understand why TB decided to do away with the fiber optic connection to their USB dongle which gave PS4 users the ability to control chat volume independently from game volume. The Stealth 520's were amazing (aside from their piss poor durability) but now they're discontinued, and every successor to the 520's is technically a downgrade IMO without the fiber optic capability. Not to mention, the 520's would tell you which EQ setting you're in as you switch thru modes. The 600 just gives a series of beeps....Yet another downgrade.

I found out a problem that has to do with cutting out you need to keep your head up and make sure it’s not down test it out on the “adjust microphone level” on ps4 and charge it fully to just make sure it’s not that either

3d audio is sonys thing. It's similar to 7.1 surround sound but kinda different.

@@devizesolstice4617 Thanks for the reply. I just wish they announced official specs on it. I had a Turtle Beach in the past (I want to say stealth 600 gen 1) that the plastic snapped on it. I liked that headset a lot. I actually considered getting the Astro a50 but couldn't justify the price. I ended up getting the Sony pulse headset and I'll say it's ok. It seems to have no bass at all and the battery life is pretty short compared to the turtle beach I had. To be clear I'm not wanting to have crazy bass or anything but this seems to have basically none at all. Can't complain much because it was cheap but I hope it'll sound better when I can finally get a PS5

Lol for the most part it is indeed good. Mic is a bit sensitive and clamp force is a little strong so it depends on your head size and environment (how noisy it is). Hopefully you like it!

I had the Gen 1s for a long ass time then it snapped at the part where it extends from the head band and ear phone, were the long stick part is on the left side. Then I replaced them and the same thing happened on the new pair on both sides this time. I only had it for less than a month, so I hope they improved the sturdiness of them. I personally feel that it is sturdy. The way they molded it is different than the gen 1s to where they are a lot more study. Then again, your definition of sturdy may be different from mine.

I've used three pairs now and none have cut out. Where is the transmitter being placed on your PS4? Try a different USB port. If you have a lot of neighboring 2.4 Ghz networks that could be increasing interference as well.

Audio mix will not work with PS5. Sony got rid of the dual audio stream output via USB so no USB headset will have chat mix any more. Sucks that Sony did it, but that's where we are unfortunately. You have to adjust chatmix in the PS5 menu when playing.

You can use it while charging but the supplied USB-C to USB-A cable is very short. I end d up using a 4ft one I had bought and it's much better. Included cable is maybe two feet at best

I liked Steel Series on PC but not so much for Xbox. I prefer the wireless stability of the TB Stealth 600s, but the Steel Series may sound better bass-wise. I think the 600 sounds good enough where it counts (for competitive gaming).

Bass is incredibly distorted on pc for some reason. It's a dac issue. Occasional disconnects where you need to unplug the transmitter and plug it back in for the headset to be detected on Xbox. When it works, it's very comfortable with great battery life and good bass (on Xbox). I'd take the LucidSound LS35X or Stealth 700 G2 over it for sure. The stealth 600 isn't as comfortable or as bass heavy but does work well for gaming. The Stealth 600 mic is very sensitive with no noise gate though.

@@GadgetryTech well maybe its usb controller on the board for the PC, iv heard with audio is outputted via USB it can be a little troublesome in so many ways. i know I have a pair of speakers that sound just awful on my new computer, but sounded much better on my older hand me down PC I gave to my brother. and the only real difference was the motherboard. and first gen ryzen compared to a second. was kinda tempted to buy a USB expansion card to see how that worked out, but never did.

Got the stealth 600 gen 2 for Christmas and tried it with all different settings on the ps5 (I also made sure to update the firmware of the headset) and there was a noticeable humming static sound both in game and In the menu. DO NOT BUY THESE. They are compatible with ps5 BUT THEY HAVE NOTICEABLE TECHNICAL ISSUES. GET A HEADSET THAT IS MADE FOR PS5 NOT JUST "COMPATIBLE".

Not on the 600 no. Game Volume + Mic Monitoring Volume knobs. You have to adjust chat volume through PS dashboard.

It does sound better. The Xbox wireless system works better than most competitors and allows for really good mic quality. The same happens with most headsets I've tested, but not all.

YES i noticed that too!!! i thought it was me but i think i am right i just feel better for canceling my ps4 version of this headset bc i was going to use for my pc and i didnt want to buy the xbox adapter but noticing the mic quality is incredible reduced so i decided to get the xbox version and buying the adapter. I mean... the main reason what i was buying this headset is for its mic.

I get the 700 in the next couple days then I will work with TB on when the embargo lifts and update as soon as I can. We should be one of the first ones with the 700 Gen 2! I'm really looking forward to trying it out.

Okay so I have two huge questions, does this headset interfere with your internet? I bought it two days ago, works fine, and i noticed today that I wasn’t lagging at all when I got home, I didn’t have it connected, then as soon as I connect it, I lagged out. Or is it because I have an original PlayStation 4?

It never did with me, but I have a seen occasional comments stating the same issue you had. Can you connect to your 5 GHz wifi network to see if you have the same issues? Perhaps setting your 2.4 GHz channel to a different number could help as well

It ended up being reversed by PlayStation and TurtleBeach marketing! Sony got rid of game/chat mix support and forces you to use the adjustments built in to the Playstation 5 user interface now. Sucks but that's how it is with almost every headset for PlayStation now.

I bought this the day it came out. Sound quality was good, but it was a tight fit and I don't have a big head. Also the wireless cut out on PS4 a few times while gaming. I ended up returning it.

That's really odd. Are you surrounded by a lot of wireless networks by chance? I tested this extensively with a high gain 2.4 and 5 gHZ wireless access point about 10-12 feet away and had 0 cut outs in my 2 weeks of testing. Sorry to hear it didn't work out.

Those are the HS2 stands from Turtle Beach. They are a bit pricey but very hefty and made of real metal. $30 on Amazon
