I just got it around two weeks ago, very very satisfied! Its accuracy is surprisingly good, almost as good as my Casio and Seiko quartz watches. Most importantly, the dial is extremely enchanting. I look at it very often to appreciate its celestial vintage beauty. However, don't put too much hope on the three metal or canvas straps coming with the watch. Get ready to replace any of them with your own bracelet or strap. (You can see a cute panda on the case bottom!)

Got it for 38€ total (including shipping and insurance). It's apparently possible to size the bracelet but also a pain, so vintage brown leather it is.

@Patrik Pongrácz yes, it is possible. takes a lot of time and effort tho. It's similar to a speidel twist-o-flex watch bracelet. There's a few resizing tutorials on KZbin.

De overeenkomsten met een vintage horloge van mij, gemaakt door de Shanghai Watch Factory, zijn treffend, tot en met de caseback aan toe. Ik vermoed dat een van hun horloges model heeft gestaan voor de 'Red Star'. Verschillen zijn er ook. Het origineel had geen rode ster op de wijzerplaat, de oude uurwerken waren 17-steens en tikten @ 18.000 bph. Het uurwerk wat in deze Red Star zit is het 'Chinese Standard Movement', ook wel bekend als Tongji. Het uurwerk wordt zowel gevierd als verguisd. Gevierd omdat het een zeer goed ontwerp betreft, verguisd omdat het door honderden fabrieken in China wordt gemaakt. Sommige van die fabrieken malen niet zo om precisie en eindcontrole. Uurwerken uit laatstgenoemde fabrieken vindt je terug in horloges van dubieuze herkomst die op AliExpress $10 kosten, inclusief verzenden nota bene. Ik ben er inmiddels achter dat Merkur een goede leverancier in de arm heeft genomen. Geen zorgen dus.
