Merkur-1963 Red Army Mechanical watch

no way! i was just looking at this a while ago. If you look at Merkur's website they actually call it a "WuXing" homage. Wu xing translates to Five Stars, which is the name of the first prototype watch that was made almost completely from China parts in 1955. It isn't related at all to the 1963 which was exclusively an attempt at a chronograph. If you want to see the original that this is an homage of, google "Seagull Five Star". as for the Chinese on the dial, the top text says 19 Jewels, and below that the three characters say "China made". Good review! edit: the bracelet has a perfect retro look, but i think this would be even nicer with a red nato!

Adjust the band by preening up the side, two places, remove unwanted segments, slide together, preen down. Done.

Sizing the watchband properly may help with hair pulling. Slight gap between segments.

The band is adjustable. There are 'u' shaped pins holding the links together - you access the pins by bending down the sides of the band on each side and then remove the number of links needed. It's so 70's.

@@OFD it's very basic movement but for the price it's not bad. Cost about $5 but they will be paying about $3 because they bought in bulk. Hope your keeping well. Crazy what's going on there and not just the virus.

Nowadays that red star is a little is cause for concern. I do have watches with Chinese parts I’m sure, but I ain’t gonna advertise it.
