GAGANCHUKKI AND BARACHUKKI WATERFALLS:
Together know as Shivanasamudra, shiva's third eye these two water falls offers as an best picnic spot from Bangalore with in 150 km radius. located in mandya district of karanataka these two falls gives spectacular views during and post monsoons. Barachukki is at an height of 69 mts and gaganchukki at an height of 90m gives you breathtaking views during monsoon with roaoring sounds. There are two routes from banglore and we happen to take mysore highway route. the road was decent enough till the waterfalls but Google maps location isn't appropriate, it's better to ask locals.
barachukki has one viewing point where as gaganchukki has two. 1) one is dargah view 2) mandya side view. between there is dargah near the falls and it is after Hazrat mardane gaib. many people were seen with families coming and cooking at this place and offering prayers.
Most of the shops were selling fish on the either side of the road, we didn't try..if you guys had let us know how it was?
There is an construction work going on at gaganchukki, also considering heavy flow of water entry is restricted till last point.
weeknds were busy, if possible try to visit in weekdays.
please be careful of water. do not attempt to get into water at any point during monsoons, as the flow is dangerously heavy.
