For these kits to be as old as they are, they are still great little kits. I've got all 4 of the main ones, the 3 thrones, and 3 astrea kits. Season 1 kits getting revives would be incredible

@@BoodyCheek honestly, they require a good bit of detail painting to make them look screen accurate. If you don't mind that, then definitely pick them up. I still take mine and pose them up together. They look good in a group. It's a little troublesome to get the gn hi mega launcher set up, but once you do, it's awesome

Something about the Kyrios' design really makes it look good. Even for an old HG kit it just really looks cool. Then again, 00's Gundam designs has always been some of my favorites alongside Wing

Got the Clear version of this kit from the 00 Season 1 set. It's beautiful as a set with the other CB Boys thinking they are bygone suits as ghosts especially when displayed alongside their upgrades in the 2nd season and the movie. Clear kits may not as good as normal kit but some of its seamlines and nubs are unnoticable. Edit: Kyrios' other missing loadout is its Hand-held Missile launchers. Same thing with Dynames' GN Pistols both of which can only be obtained by getting the HG00 (not RG) Astraea Type-F.

I used a green sharpie on the clear parts. I just let em dry a bit and then top coat with mr hobby gloss and its perfect

I usually put some white marker first before applying that red Gundam marker on darker part. In my case i think that doesn't always works perfectly but the red could become more natural.

The kyrios is a pretty good design i just wish the shield was in a different place maybe underneath the nose cone covering up the gundam head.

I sort of abandoned the partsformation aspect for the flightform. It works great, but I was never a huge fan of the Kyrios' flight form in general. I instead just sort of folded the legs back up over the torso so the feet are pointing up at the shoulders. It gives the unit a nice bit of Zeta-like bulk.

when i built the kyrios it was totally insane build..the clear gn part flew off the runner and I looked on the floor and got super bummed that I lost the part..under distress I placed my hand on my head and sighed..as soon as I felt my hair I found the clear gn part in my hair!totally bonkers

Personally for red paint I use Vallejo Model Color Bloody Red and Gory Red. Gory is better for darker red suits like Epyon and for the rest Bloody works wonders to mask 'mishaps' during nub removal. Also used it to add a bit of extra flair to Aerial; not sure if you've tried it but if not give a whirl if you can!

The red in the basic marker set is actually a clear red for some reason. Great for clear parts but need a base for anything else

Add gray colors to the tiny orange wings both outer and inner layers. Just a tip though. Sad they don't have GN missile pod attachment on its flight form just to do Dynames aerial snipe poses.

Did you notice the back side of the calves? To me it was weird during building that there are polycaps inside that have no use at all. I think the Kyrios was intended to have the that missile container and/or the booster unit at some point, attaching them securely is the most likely function of those polycaps, but according to my knowledge at least, the extras were never released. Also, the flight form has two "alternative" versions: I keep the wings on the legs swept forward, I think it just looks much cooler. Or you can attach the legs twisted by 180 degrees, then bend them forward as far as they go, which results an awesome delta shape, though placing the shield becomes a bit difficult.

The main S1 00 suits seem to have gotten a recent reprint. I've been seeing a bunch of them (blue Bandai logo) at local shops in the US. They're more expensive now than what I paid for mine in like 2010 , also from a local shop. I can understand inflation, but retail gunpla prices in Japan seem to be stagnant... I wouldn't buy these again when they're priced the same as better HGs. I swear, Bandai's acquisition of bluefin and gag order on JP bandai plamo exports to foreign countries was for them to control gunpla prices in foreign markets.

This was my first gunpla kit and I hated it so much I almost quit. I really think these first gen 00 HG kits deserve bronze tier, they haven't held up to "modern standards" in some time, which is shown in the poor ankle articulation and no waist movement. Hopefully we get a revive series of these and the SEED HG kits.

Well fuck, I guess I forgot the lil white part on the claw :(. Fairly sure I just never took it off the sprue, sigh. I think I can make it myself from scratch. Overall, yeah as you said, needs looks of painting and it's very stiff. I'm not a giant fan this kit, but still think it's worth it, price is very fair. I'm pretty sure the same design would get a better kit in the year 2023, but still, I guess we have the MG? I do hope that the main gundams do get RG versions, revives would be acceptable as well.

I had all three, and I think Kyrios is actually the best of all three. Arios and Harute use ball joints to connect the waist with the legs, and they kinda became loose and easily fell off after a while, especially if you like to fiddle with it. Personally I prefer Arios' (and Harute) fairly simple transformation (no need to replace parts) over Kyrios', but hated the look of its flight mode. Harute is very butt heavy (all the space jet parts and giant twin cannons and scissors guns are attached to its butt), but has the best looking head and torso of all three in my opinion. Harute's flight mode is huge and quite good looking, but the cannons and wings/scissors guns are too heavy that they'll droop down after a while unless you just place the kit flat on the table. Why do I say had? Well, let's just say I kitbashed all three to combine everything I like from the three into one...

The HG 00 series deserves a reboot. I’d like to see Bandai remake at least the ones from the 2 seasons and movie. I’m sure by now they can do a much better job. At least we have the MGs. Speaking of which we _need_ an MG 2.0 for GN-001 Gundam Exia and its variants. Please make it happen Bandai. 🙏

I find 2010 was the year when kits really exploded in quality, and as far as I know the 00 HG kits were releasing during this period. A lot of people tell me the S2 kits are drastically better than the S1 kits, so it’s going to be interesting to try those ones out

man the quality of gunpla has dropped so much recently that this thing is considered silver tier at this point. if he had reviewed the hg season 1 kits a few year ago then they would have received bronze at best.
