I know you have watched a lot of videos that Have David and Guy in them, but I thought i would share a little tid bit of info for you. I have attended quite a few Gaither Homecoming concerts over the years. I actually got to talk to one of the sound engineers for one of the concerts. He told me that he had been a sound engineer with the Gaither Homecoming concerts for a good number of years, going back to when David first came to the GVB. I asked him about the mic settings he had to use for the group. He told me, that Guy’s and David’s voices were so strong that he had to turn the gains on their mics down to half or less than that for any other member. He also said he had to adjust them constantly during their songs because of their power and dynamic range. Even though they both knew when to pull their mic back from their mouths, Their power will still too much. Bill had to buy new mics when both of them were there because side by side they would cause problems with the others next to them.

this popped up in my subscriptions list, and i said...out loud (people at work think i'm nuts)..."oh, yeah, this is gonna be a good one. SO GOOD! he's gonna love it" i've watched this performance dozens of times, and the belting David does coming in solo later in the song causes chills. Wow, the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Colorado! Could there be a more perfect open-air venue to enjoy a GVB homecoming? Maybe heaven. You can always depend on David and GVB to have emmaculate vocals, but can we take a moment to appreciate the writing skills of Bill and Gloria Gaither? Those two are anointed writers.
