David Phelps has the most amazing tenor voice that I've ever been blessed to hear. The Holy Spirit fills my heart and soul and blesses me each time that I hear David Phelps sing. I know many have given their hearts to our Lord Jesus Christ through his songs. Thank you Patrol Nation for playing these blessed songs. Gaither Vocal Band is truly anointed by God as it shows in every song that they sing. I love all of its' past and present members. But my absolute favorite all-time members are Bill Gaither, Guy Penrod, Mark Lowry and David Phelps.

When David is singing, they show a guitarist. His name is Wesley Pritchard who is a former GVB member. These guys all sound good, but David reaches the stars with his voice. Beautiful!

This makeup of the GVB was known as the Gaither Vocal Reunion. Marshall and Guy left to do other things and Bill had been contemplating getting some of the older members back. He was able to get Michael English to come back as lead, Mark as baritone and David as an additional tenor. He and Wes would switch out between 1st and 2nd tenor parts or sing the same when the tenor part needed the extra power. It also gave David the freedom to do “his thing” to ad that extra ooomf that only David can add.

No one does harmonies like the Gaither Vocal Band, of course David is the added bonus that we all love. I would recommend you take a listen to 'Through' by the GVB, David was not part of the band then but Guy Penrod as part of that group. Some absolutely beautiful Harmony hits in that song. As other commenters have mentioned I also want to thank you for staying on the Phelps bandwagon and keeping David and the vocal Band on a weekly basis, very much appreciated by a lot of people 😊

GVB harmonies are over the top, but those sweet Issac siblings…I think they’re my favorite as far as outrageous, tight harmonizing. However IGVB’s ability is truly wonderful and I could, and have, listen to them all day long. Hope you have a beautiful day!❤️

Absolutely the best tenor alive today!! Saw him again in person in Mesa, Arizona last week and he still never ceases to amaze me. Might keep him in your prayers as he has been on tour toward and up the West Coast but had to cancel last night's concert due to catching a bad cold on the trip and basically losing his voice at the moment. Apparently, he also had an accident last November at his farm where he had a 1000-pound steel gate fall on him, and he is still in recovery with some nerve damage. He never stops unless he absolutely has to!! Thanks again, Lyle, for your reactions to David. Absolutely love them!

We did see this lineup of the GVB at the time of this taping, it was my favorite lineup. They sang "The King Is Coming" , also, incredible!!

One of my favorite evolutions of the Gaither Vocal Band. Ive been around all the way from when it was Bill, Gloria, and Danny as the Bill Gaither trio, then Terry McSpadden, Then Michael English. My Favorite was Bill,,Mark, Michael, and Terry Franklin, Then Mark, Guy, and David, then Mark, David, Michael, and Wes. As much as you like the Harmonies, There is a Gaither video called Harmony in the Heartland. It is very special for me because it was Michael English's Return to the Fold. If you ever read his Book The Prodigal Returns, you will read about his addiction to painkillers, and his runins with the police, and infidelity and basically his fall from grace, but Bill stayed true and brought him back into the fold of people who would love and pray him back to grace. Anyway two songs of note on that video are Michael singing Lord Feed Your Children, and Mark, David, Guy, and Michael singing House of Gold. Id love to see you react to those. Also, there is a video of GVB live from Praise Gathering where Michael sings his signature song, I Bowed on my knees and cried Holy. In the choir who backs the band there is at least 1 future GVB Tenor. Anyway, i love seeing you react to the Vocal Band. Keep it up my friend!

Right now I’m lying here in bed in the dark and the tears are rolling down my cheeks as my precious husband sleeps peacefully beside me and the realization rolls through me of how very blessed I am to have had parents that took me to church and taught me about Jesus. How easily I could’ve been born to lost souls who knew nothing about Him! I’m so thankful for what He did for us that dark day on Calvary’s hill. I can never repay Him but I can try my best to witness for His goodness and his love. Sorry, I didn’t mean to rattle on, but this is just what I needed before I close my old eyes to sleep.❤. Prayers for David as he was unable to make his last concert in Washington state due to pain in his back. Back in November he had an accident that injured his back , nerve damage. Plus he picked up a bad cold that really made it difficult for him to sing in Salem, Oregon. He’s gone home to rest and heal! 🙏🙏😔

So glad you have persevered with David Phelps, and are including plenty of his singing with the Gaither Vocal Band. One of my favourites is a hymn with quite old fashioned language (still a great message) but a wonderful chorus with David and Wes giving their all - it's called Glorious Freedom kzbin.info/www/bejne/laLdqaluer56ea8.
