Crazy that Jesus would say that about a Gentile!❤ It's NOT just the belief that Jesus could heal from afar. It's that a GENTILE (moreover, a Roman military man) believed that Jesus could heal from afar. Of course, the Jews who witnessed the miracles (especially the followers of Jesus) would know and believe that. Not much faith is required. But for a Roman military man, who had been trained all his life to look down on and subjugate the Jews, this was HUUUUGE. Therefore, NO ONE ELSE had faith like this man. WOW! 😭🙏

I know one memory tends to lead to another to tie things together. But i would hesitate mixing these two. Although i know one show is for comedic purposes the big bang theory is blasphemy to what THIS show is about. If the Big Bang is true, and Genesis is not to be taken as literal. What is the point of your faith? If the orgin of sin is not what Jesus came to conquer then why did he come? From the beginning of time(our humans existence) God knew he would have to sacrifice his son to redeem us from the stronghold of death and the works of the Devil and by the disobedience of Adam and Eve. Hence in Genesis, God sets up Abraham to do a head scratcher move by telling him to offer up his only son Isaac, Abraham had only one true heir and it wasnt Ishmael. But NOW looking at the Bible in its entirety we see from Genesis what Jesus came to do. The stupid and blasphemous theories of man on the origins of the universe go contrary to the Jewish and Christian faith. We cannot say God may have used the Big Bang Theory for creation because the scriptures never reveal this to us. Instead we have the Holy Spirit inspired words written by the The Prophets and Disciples of God. Let God be true , and everyman a liar.

It's been said by Brandon before, but it absolutely bears, repeating… I just love how throughout Gaius's journey, he has done basically nothing to become elevated to where he is. It's such a powerful reminder of how God fights our battles for us, and gives us the increase we need in order to bring Him glory. Gaius went from a centurion guarding a tax collector, to the Primi, to the Pretor. He wasn't "scheming," or trying to connive his way into anything. It just happened to him. I can honestly say, I am humble to have had similar experiences in my life and it is 100% GOD! God still works just like this, and deserves ALL the glory. It seems kinda weird, and I know it may be slightly out of context, but the first scripture that came to mind when Quintus was exiting and Gaius was entering was from Prov 13, "The wealth of the wicked is laid up in store for the righteous." I know its not related to this moment but, I think of "wealth" in this moment, not necessarily as "material wealth," but "positional control of resources." I love that in The Chosen God allowed the positional control of resources to go to someone who had a heart-desire to be in a right relationship with Jesus. Gaius's desire to know and follow Jesus echos His heart's desire to follow the one true God and I love seeing how, in the show, Gaius has gotten practice caring for the Jewish people (the cistern, the tent city, etc.) and even throwing some shaloms out there. Awesome to see this example of God showing Himself strong for Gauis even if he may be a fictional character.^_^ "For the eyes of the Lord roam to and fro over the earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are fully devoted to Him." 2 Chronicles 16:9a

This passage was very important to me personally. A few years ago, I was praying earnestly about something, and had been for quite some time. Then God said quietly to me, "This is done. You should pray about something else." I wasn't 100% sure this was a thought from God. I thought, well, doesn't the Bible teach the importance of being persistent in prayer? It sure does. So I texted a very knowledgeable friend about this. Is it biblical to stop praying about something? He reminded of the story of the Roman Centurion, who knew Jesus can do whatever He wants. Jesus told him "it's done." Did he keep asking Jesus after this? Nope. He was grateful, and went home. So this story gave me permission, even required me, to quit praying about that topic. And yes, several months later, the prayer was answered spectacularly. It was one of those live changing moments for me. Loved that they treated this scene so accurately, and that they had been setting it up since Season 1! Just discovered your videos. Really like them!

Atticus has been around since the beginning and we don’t even know if he really saw Jesus on the water or not. So I really kind of think it’s going to be Atticus that says it. I think the best line is the one of Commonality in Command between Gaius and Jesus. Gaius says, "With men under me I say to one to go, he goes. And if I say to another come, he comes. Anything you command in this world WILL happen." Since Gaius understands submission in a chain of command, he understands just a word makes the command happen. Speak and it will be done. Jesus marvels at Gaius' confidence/faith, but Gaius' confidence comes from being a commander, seeing its fruits and the commanded fruits of Jesus's miracles Gaius has witnessed as Lord supreme.

Domine, non sum dignus ut entres sub tectummeum, sed tantum dic verbo, et sanabitur anima mea. We repeat the centurion's words at every Mass, it's so beautiful.

A good example of how the intercession of saints may work in our behalf before the Lord to grant what is beseeched for many of us unworthy servants.

i like that you pause it, to add comments, rather than letting it play. sure, most shows need to have cur moments to upload it right, but the chosen is free on their site, I hope every future season, up to or past 7 ✝

I LOVE this episode!! And I refer to this as “The Gaius Episode”when friends and I are discussing it. “Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof. But only say the word and my soul shall be healed. Said at every Mass

That elaborate necklace is the "Offices" of his station. It's literally the source of our modern use of "office" to describe a position of authority.

20:44 I love the way in season 4 Peter is kinda in the back ground giving good advice & it shows how much he has matured. Although I do miss him being the old Peter & the way he acted but I do know this needs to happen

Yea, this is good stuff here, for sure! I like when Matthew said to Gaius, when he was crying, There, there, no need to cry! So funny 😆! I don't think Matthew new what to do there? I love the story where Jesus heals Gaius's son and then Gaius goes shopping for his family when he new, by huge faith that God had healed his son! Love it! 🥰😊😃 The olive 🫒 press and seeing Jesus as He sees it, going to his death, is amazing! Yea, Brandon, after you pointed out the, not heavy stone, for the press, it did look a little odd! 😆 I so loved when Gaius gave Jesus a hug to comfort him! A special moment there! ☺️🥲

You may want to do some more research about the candles. They were invented independently in numerous areas of the world during or before the Greek times. The Romans definitely used them. They would have been a sign of wealth. When anyone could have an oil lamp, the Romans would have wanted to show themselves above the masses.

Honestly when Gaius said "because I'm not worthy" it hit me right in the chest.

That was straight up wealth redistribution in the market with Gaius handing out coins like that. I loved it.

And don't forget (which is easy to do for those of us believers in our GOD) those lamps, and paintings and offerings are not JUST for worship, but for protection FROM those gods. An important part of the worship of the false gods was trying to keep them "happy" lest they become angry and destroy or turn against you. Greek and Roman mythology is heavy with the stories of what happened to someone or a country when the anger of a false god is stirred, and the actions of the afflicted to stop the fury or win back the favor of that god. The story of Christ is all that more impactful when we understand WE offended God, WE deserve what we get, BUT HE took the punishment and HE brought us back HIMSELF.
