Galactic Contention is a star wars battlefront mod for Squad. Squad is a mil sim game. Meaning galactic contention is hyper realistic mil sim star wars battlefront. And it looks stunningly beautiful. Galactic Contention is magical. My squad of clones got wiped out by two droid AAT hover tanks, and it was just me and one survivor cowering in the ruins of our fortification. We are crawling slowly away on our stomachs, trying to avoid the deadly tanks and regroup with our own defensive lines, when my comrade, my fellow clone, by brother, goes, "Bruh Im so fuckin' blitzed out of my mind right now, what are we doing?" Truly the immersive Clone Wars experience I've always dreamed of.

GC is one of the few mods that I enjoy more than the base game because of how well done it is, and the love put into every detail, from B2s and clone commandos both being terrifying if they get the drop on you, to you and the people around you frantically digging up a shield while an orbital strike is going off over head just to survive.

Speaking of star wars, the Contractors Clone Wars mod was updated recently. This time, they added: - Clone Marines and Droidekas (each having new weapons) - Battalions for Clones and Droids (You usually spawn as a random battalion, though there are some maps where it has a specific assigned battalion. For example, on the Chancellor's Office map, you will always spawn as a Coruscant Guard)

For some games like this you can live with it since you already have to be so deliberate and accurate with your shots so it's not that bad. That said stuff like Overwatch you can feel the difference between 25 and 50 ping easily on heroes like tracer where you need to track

Literally just got out of a game with this mod and saw you uploaded this video. It's amazing so fun glad it's getting the attention it deserves. Disney should be paying these guys to do whatever they want because what they are doing is incredible. It's a different subgenre of shooters than SW Battlefront but it still scratches that itch of the concept

I actually know a guy who used to host a server for this and the Sandstorm mods. I think he spent most of his time trying to get them to uncrash because of how constantly and intensively they were running until he gave up on both and did just the Sandstorm mod

One of my favorite Galactic Contention games was when I joined a team called Hell Jumpers where we all went jet trooper except for our LA-AT pilot squad leader and then we would jump from way above objective and obliterate the droids from high vantage points.

One big thing I will say about this mod is PLAY THE TUTORIAL FOR SQUAD BEFORE LOADING IN, understanding the game and how to put up FOB radio's, and build HABs, is vital to having a good experience and not getting steam rolled.

It is REALLY, REALLY important to note that Squad, while a realistic milsim, is basically ARMA 3 lite. It has that milsim feel, but is much more accessible for those that don't want to have to go through actual BOOTCAMP. A mix of arcady gameplay with military simulation.

I live in the middle of nowhere in Idaho and used to get an average of 200-300 in a lot of games when I had my really shitty old internet provider that charged us like $60 a month for 15 megabits/second, any time someone else in my family was using the internet I would gain hundreds of ping. It wasn't uncommon for me to be trying to play on west coast servers and still get over 200 ping. I have a way better provider now and get like 50 megabits/second so unless like 5 devices are downloading it doesn't affect latency. I now get

Wow is hilarious hahaha, ex-Squad dev here! So Squad was made possible because of Project Reality, which was a BF2 mod. Some devs from PR went to make Squad. EA on the other hand released a Battlefield skinned version of Star Wars, which is modern Battlefronts and there is a Squad skinned version of Star Wars. So its a former mod's mod's vs mod (Ofc Galactic Contention isn't offical but its nice that its there) :D
