errr so what does that game offer over Hell Let Loose - the obvious contemporary comparison with stuff like logistics, vehicles, command and control etc.
@dblancha65 ай бұрын
@@johnbigelson7471 DH is very out dated as far as graphics and player movement there are many negatives about the game but where it shines is the vast amount of content and unique game play quirks. If you have an interest in comparisons with Hell Let Loose I've made some here. Taking a look at Hell Let Loose it seems to have some kind of cosmetic dress up system and XP grind to unlock stuff. in RO Darkest Hour you wear the uniform of your class appropriate to the time period and location the battle takes place along with weapons correct for that battle and role you pick. HLL seems to have only 3 factions, DH has British, Americans, Germans, Polish, Russia, and a few more along with sub factions like playing as the Volkssturm, with limited ammunition and crudely built guns. DH has many more vehicles and types of them from jeeps to open top tank destroyers, vehicles have component damage like engine fires, tracks turret rings and sight telescopes can be taken out. DH has more complex hit models for players. guns can be shot out of your hand, non lethal hits to the head knock off helmets, shots to the legs cause you to drop to prone and takes a bit of time before you can run. DH has hundreds of maps HLL looks like it has 7. sorry for the long post, try the game out, check for peek player hours. its not the best game ever but nothing modern has the amount of map variety and content.
@millitron36665 ай бұрын
@@johnbigelson7471 More realistic vehicles; armor angling and range actually matters. Some vehicles get smoke, white phosphorous, or canister shells. Way more kinds of vehicles, like dozens. Bazookas and panzershreks can be reloaded by teammates; pretty cool to be an actual AT team like that scene in Band of Brothers where they kill the Stug. Squad leaders can use radiomen as mobile radios. You can brace your gun on things to stop weapon sway, which makes the game more about positioning and intelligence, and less about raw physical FPS skill. Maybe I just suck at HLL, but there seems like way less walking and more fighting/fun. I prefer the way old graphics too; I find HLL -too- detailed, it's hard to see things to me.
@johnbigelson74715 ай бұрын
@@millitron3666 I can definitely agree with that last criticism- at times HLL (and most modern FPS also) feel like more of pixel hunt than anything else. It's the problem with modern realistic graphics but not realistic sensory input (the resolution and field of view of our eyes)..

Dude the BFBC2 hit me in the nostalgia spot hard. Such a good game, that and the first one had one of the more fun SP campaigns I can remember. I'm gunna have to check this project out.

BFBC2 was the first online game I played online. I even remember the date (23 Mar 2010). I ranked around #2 or usually around the top 5 during each match. But playing this game was long ago. Seeing it for the very first time in so many years in this video was quite nice and brought back many memories ! ! ! If I had known then how to have saved my gameplay, I would have uploaded it to my old KZbin account but I had no previous experience with that. In 2013, I had joined the Army and was later wounded in action about a decade ago. Thanks Rye for the video ! ! ! 🤗🤗

The first game brought back memories red cruicible 2 I used to play that on a website that had flash games and stuff like that on google. You didn’t even need to download it. But omg that game was so good back then.

I already seen a video on "war of rights " player, and seriously it getting me on passion for them. They look very implicated and seem to have their own world. I don't want to join them because for sure I haven't enough discipline, but I like to watch them

I am, or i guess, was a part of the people that kept Bad Co 2 alive. Those guys were a blast to play with, and I'll miss them.

You should continue this kind of series when possible. I first started playing PC games in 2002 and have so many fond memories of playing MOHAA, COD, Battlefield 1942, CS, Unreal Tournament, and the list goes on. Like you said, it would be nice to restore some of these games with bug fixes and improvements and big influencers like you could host a game for everything to hop on or simply create a couple of servers for a few weeks for people to try out some of these old gems.

Watching you play old games keeps me feeling young but then you pulled up Bad Company 2 and made me feel old. Game is a LEGEND though.

If im not wrong, Wolfteam might be also a "dead" game, i dont remember how many people still played it, but it wasnt much, and it was a couple of years ago.

"War trigger classic" was just sooo familiar-looking, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then the words "Red Crucible 2" unlocked some hidden memories.

Rye, I've been loving your videos recently. Three games I recommend you try out are "blackwake" "the legend of pirates online" (which is the least dead, with probably a few hundred people still playing) and islands of nyne battle Royale

Glad to see you enjoyed playing War of Rights, and especially playing the Historical Rules Event! War of Rights is a small community by most standards, but the regular events and battles that take place on both EU and NA based timezones are some of the most immersive experiences you'll see in any FPS. Maybe see you again in one of our events :D -1stLieut. T. Parker

Man, the nostalgia... I used to play War Trigger classic alot as a child. It used to be called Red Crucible back in the day, it was the first shooter I'd ever gotten involved in.

There was this game on the Microsoft store a long time ago, around 2015 or 16 (when i started playing i think it came out before then) from what I can remember, it was a fps shooter game and it was sorta like call of duty and other r6 mixed together but just a lot worse, It was called "Modern Combat 5: Blackout" I just remember being younger and having gotten my first ever computer and that was one of the first games I ever played. I think it'd be cool to see a video on it considering I've never heard anyone ever talk about it. Kinda felt like I was the only one who played it. Much love and I enjoy watching these a lot keep it up!

Fun fact, before 'War Trigger'' entered steam it use to be extremely popular game. You could play it on web, and it was perfect. So many people, so many stuff but then it just died. Same goes for Verdun and some other
