I've thought about how you could do what Star Citizen does and handcraft the star systems that are important/inhabited, which might range in the dozens or hundreds, but then the rest of the billions that are just empty/used for resource gathering only could be procedurally generated. Then have the gameplay itself be totally open world and maybe similar to Skyrim like where you can do whatever you want, be whoever you want and join whatever organization you want. you can choose what attributes at the beginning of the game to have like force sensitive or better with blasters. Imagine that with modern day graphics and VR... I'd set it during the Old Republic Era so lots of people can join the Sith and it would still make sense.

Uh, look at all the untapped wealth of possible stories and characters and histories. Yet Disney keeps wanting to rehash the 'Skwyalker Saga' and things relating to the original trilogy. I get that they have a special place in many peoples hearts but there is so mch out there to write on and make films about. I really hope they choose to branch out and have different movie types on different characters, or commision more novels so we can explore this amazing galaxy.

I don't see how it makes much sense that the entire galaxy isn't explored. It seems like you can get anywhere in the galaxy in a matter of days. The emperor was able to get from Courscant to Mustafar between the time Anakin got his limbs cut off and before he died, and there's no way he could have survived more than a day with those kinds of injuries. So if it takes a day to get fromm the core to the outer rim, how could the entire galaxy not be explored.

Besides the already detailed answer, hyperspace routes were discovered by trial and error. And not many were willing to randomly click "Go" on their hyperdrives if that meant the possibility of crashing into a star or ending in the middle of nowhere and no possibility of going back.

Hasnt been completelt drafted as i've been busy with actual work but also having a bit of writers block can impede on progress. but having small bits of info like this really help because i know alot of EU enthusiast love thier geography outside of whats cannon.

For those of you who don't now if Earth is in Star Wars, it is, but it's almost 300 million light years away from the Star Wars Galaxy. This could mean that the events of Star Wars take place within the Andromeda Galaxy, a real galaxy in our universe. Han and Chewie have been stranded on Earth once, somewhere in the North Pacific.

That story was non-canon, but I like to think of it as something that COULD have happened. Maybe it even is canon for Indiana Jones, who knows? I still love the Unknown regions as it gives content creators as my self to work our magic. I have so far been working on two factions in the Unknown Regions one a single planet known as Nun a sea planet where the Nuni a race of celestial fish as i have to call them live and have a Celtic-ish culture and religion. And a mini(in Galatic therms) Empire known as the Ralms of the Black Star. A empire that spread both a Culture and Religion witch made them Indipendent from rest of the Galaxy so they dint do mutch until they ran into the Firsht order who tried to occupy one of their planets only to learn that it was a Holy Planet so they got the Consta Ordo Militia and Knights up their asses. Basicly see a Teutonic knight in full plate armor then replace the armor with Power armor and their weapon with a Energy sword and a shield made out of metal that could take a hit from a blaster canon. For weapons both dint use blasters but Energy projectiles that made their firearms mutch more fears and deadly

0:28 Isn't 'Wild Space' the term used to designate the largely unexplored space in the galaxy? Whereas the 'Unknown Regions' is the vast area to the west of the galactic disc, which hasn't been colonized or properly mapped out due to navigational hazards, but is generally believed to contain various civilizations, such as the Chiss. And then there's also this: "Pablo Hidalgo explained in Rebels Recon that the borders of the Unknown Regions were known (thus should be visible on the map of the Galaxy) but what were within the regions were unknown. Contrast this with Wild Space, which were outside the known map of the Galaxy (in other words, 'off the edge of the map').[4]" I don't mean to be nitpicky, but I think you got that part wrong.

Wars... So we would develop a Map like this one but what's striking is, that these maps over thousands of years would change... Cuz the Galaxy as a whole is changing constantly, Star move about in their respective orbits, and also further away stars move much faster from closer stars, so imagine having to figure out what is going on in a world like this!

Why technological progress stop in Star Wars?
@citylightsish8 жыл бұрын
It didn't, as a quick example, blasters from the Force Awakens appear considerably more powerful and advanced from previous films.

I ask about progress, not about upgrade. Why SW cywilization do not go to next level?
@somerandomguy37007 жыл бұрын
Nothing in star wars makes sense. and the fact that blasters were the only things that got upgrade gives me the idea that this galaxy is built on war

I was just looking for a map yesterday and the information about the rims.

Thanks for this video! Star Wars geography is very interesting to me, and also very confusing seeing as many sources (such as various video games) have conflicting information :P

This is an very interesting topic, could you tell more about the "special" territories (Hutt space, Mandalore Sector etc...)

Do you think you can do a video like this, but for the Star Wars Canon?
@bobfreking8 жыл бұрын
I honestly don't know anything about this, but is there a creation story and an end of the world story / prophecy to Star Wars? Or God thing to the Force?
@originalmin8 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on the different cultures in the Starwars universe. In terms of prophecies, Anakin Skywalker was, as I'm sure you know, the chosen one, and the prophecy claimed that he would bring balance to the force and destroy the Sith.

+Bob Freking in TCW there's an arc about the planet Mortis, where the force is "home." The 3 people who live there are the son, the daughter, and the father. The son represents the dark side, and the daughter represents the light side, and the father is there to basically keep them out of trouble, because if one of them becomes dominant over the other it could potentially end the universe. When the son kills the daughter, they have to kill the son to balance it out. that's all I know

Do you have the story of all 3 Death Star
@anonymouschicago61428 жыл бұрын
***** Because there is 1 Death Star in new hope...The 2nd Death Star is in Return on the Jedi..The 3rd Death Star in After Return of the Jedi in a comic Book....i think it's my opinion it's call death star because in Star wars they call the plants star Systems so the Death "Star" destroys "Star" Systems

I really see Core Worlds As Western Europe - with wealth and influence on whole world, Colonies As Central Europe And Others Outside, Unknown regions in the "west" as Americas which are waiting for explorations

Great video (as always), but I have one question considering the map provided in this (an some other) video(s): Since Thrawn came fromthe "Chriss Ascendancy" to the empire. Why was it assumped (by Palpatine?), that he has knowledge of the "Unknown Regions", when the Chiss Ascendancy was outside of said region? Did Thrawn take a reroute via these regions until he joined the Empire?

Why is it the the worlds closer the galatic center are better of than those closer to the edge?

Great video! I was curious if you were going to mention that Illum on the Legends map is labeled Starkiller Base in the canon map in the TFA visual dictionary. Both are at the same exact spot...

Do you guys think that there may be earth somewhere out there in the unknown region? And it would be sick if along the World Between Worlds there were other universes in SW.
