Dyson sphere cool, dyson sphere around black hole insane concept love it.

I like the models, the music and the ideas, black hole dyson sphere in particular. It reminded me of an idea I read about the last civilizations 'mining' blackholes for there rotational energy to keep the lights on after all the stars have gone out.

I remember similar concepts for the one around a dwarf star from a Discovery channel special about the end of the universe and how sentient life would cope with cosmic entropy. Once all the brightest stars had fizzled out, the only reliable source of light and energy would be the dim emissions from dwarf stars which people would huddle close to.

There is much discussion concerning the Bootes Void. What if all the stars were encapsulated Dyson Spheres? The energy available would be inconceivable 🎉. Nice one Katana glad to see the team not resting on your laurels 🎉

Well that music in no way made those mega-structures seem ominous! NOPE! Not! At! All! Where am I going?! I'm just.....heading out to get some milk, there's a nice little shop a couple of dozen universes over that carries a good brand at a nice price. Bye!

The only problem with these giant solar energy collectors is that, unless you live on them, the power they absorb really has no use. Seeing as they seem far too close to the stars that they are around, not the mention being that close to a black hole, they would not make for a really good place to live, unlike a Dyson Ring that orbits a lot further from its star. Granted, you could beam power to other planets in these solar systems, or even to spaceships, but if you have this level of technology, you would want to go star hopping - and beaming the power that kind of distance wouldn't work, One thing they could be used for, however, is to power a system of transmutation factories that would produce antimatter. This would be far more portable a power source - and since from what we know now, that it takes a LOT of energy to create antimatter, this would solve that problem. The orbital rings could even harvest hydrogen from the star as a base material to make anti-hydrogen out of. I always figured, that a society like Star Trek, which uses antimatter as their main power supply, would have large solar power stations in close orbits around various stars, where they would have the energy to make it, rather than using fusion power or something else to produce it, as antimatter doesn't seem to exist in high enough amounts in our galaxy to just go mine it somewhere.
