The only thing I want in a new smartphone is a better camera system, long battery life, a clear screen, long update support and a good IP-rating. I don't care about fast charging, wireless charging, 90Hz display is enough for me, don't need superb speakers and I definitely don't need a telelens. Sadly, phone manufacturers have not really done good upgrades on their phones in the past three years. The quality improvements were only minor. Despite every smartphone still being a marvel of technology, I can't justify paying double or triple the price to get a 'flagship' model. It has proven that even flagship phones suffer from a lot of design mistakes nowadays.

Are we looking at the same pictures? The a53 clearly has better dynamic range and has less glare, looks overall better. A52s looks washed out at times. A53 had better image processing, the a53 is on the right. Perhaps you didn't see the text and assumed the worse one was the new one.

I owned both devices. I used the a53 as my main daily driver as I just love the color science of the a53 camera compared to the a52s. That being said, both are fantastic phones. You can never go wrong if you choose one from the other.

from my perspective as a photographer. the a 53 is much better in image quality and sharpness. a52 saturates the colors is good in some shots but the a53 convinces me more from the video to the photo.

I have the A52s 5G and I would still pick the A53 for the cameras. I am not 100% sure about that tho as I usually pick the more saturated pictures so I would like whatever phone give more saturated pictures but still, in realism. I know the A52s 5G has better performance but the fizical design of A53 5G is just smoother and sharper.

Downgrade as a whole vs the A52S. Battery is 500mah more but the endurance is barely better. The Exynos 1280 is significantly worse than Snapdragon 778G. The A53 has no headphone jack and no charger in Box. Great Job Samsung. Slow claps 👏

And Camera was a upgrade, most of things in the Camera are made with Software, so A53 5g can be better in A52s where it loses. The only thing that cannot be undone is headphone jack. :/ So I wouldn't say a downgrade, since it has all this things that I said and it will be updated till Android ~16. I would get an A53 5g if the prices were similar, but if they were not, I would get an A52s that will have a a similar performance and experience

A53 is generally a downgrade. It has Slower performance and no headphone Jack. Only advantage of a53 is the slightly better photography and video processing (mostly on software level). Let's wait for Android 13 for a52s

Cmon, Exynos 1280 can be better than SD778G (5nm vs 6nm, more efficient power usage, more GHz in total) but speed isn't just CPU, GPU and NPU, Software is one of the most important things, I believe that A53 5g will be improving later. Interesting. Id say that daytime, photo and filming, 70-80% photos looked better on A52s. When the 52 misses it really misses and the 53 shines. A53 seems just to just be more contrasty, and boosting colours a bit wich makes it down to taste, i prefer a bit more natural look. A53 seems to be better in the night shots where majoritt of photos was best on the 53. The A52s seems to over expose/brighten when it fails in the night shoots. Overall the A52s takes the photos i like, wich is a blessing since i just went and bought it. To bad the A52s dont take that good night shoots. Thnx for the video confirming my choice.

Camera is pretty much identical. A53 has slightly bigger battery and less performance. A52a headphone jack HDR10+ and less software updates as it's 7 month's older.

I have the a53 when i lost my a52 i do think my a52 was alot snappier the a53 right out of the box was kinda glitchy and laggy.. i ignored it cus i thought i needed to let it warm up but it was pretty much crap.. im stuck with a phone without a aux.. and i paid more the video quality at night is horrible i was like wtf is this? M confused why it has a bunch or lines and dots of a crappy camera.. i hope they fix that problem soon

A52s looks better to me. When looking on images quality sometimes 52s gives better results, sometimes 53. as if the focus wasn't always right... but it happens to both 52s and 53 What 53 has, is greater color saturation... which... I don't know... in my eyes it looks overdone. It should be controllable in manual mode though... if the phone has it. Or by postprocessing. But when looking on night images, the 52s looks much better.

I got a Samsung A52. In Less than a month after a very very very slight fall, i am needing to change the screen for 1/4 of the purchase price. I doubt i ever will go for a Samsung phone again

I have both. I use A52s and my wife use A53. A53 win on camera quality, 5k MaH battery, and 4 yrs OS + 5yrs security support. But overall performance, A52s still the best. I prefer a52s. Just 5 cent 😉

@@DariuszTech bro.. i just found something interesting. I didnt know either this is just coincident or its really because of its hardware.(i didnt know techical). This few day, our internet connectivity is unstable. I use same provider for all home wifi and gadget. My internet speed for wifi plan is double my phone plan. While internet is too slow, all gadget with wifi and A53(which is using same plan as my A52s) cant even load any media social apps, but my A52s still can run Genshin Impact - off course with some little lagg-but its keep connected. Is this because of Snapdragon chipset are more stable on connectivity? Can you please check for this? *sorry for my bad english*

My wife has been using a52s for over half a year now and found it too slow moving from Poco f3. I upgraded her a52s to s21 fe Snapdragon 888 version and it's a very noticeable difference in camera and performance overall 😊

Hi there. After the very latest updates recently I wanna ask which phone does photos (skin tones, sky, cars, pavement, food, trees) closer to in real life? On the rear main camera which offers less of that noise or over sharpening when zoomed in or cropped? Which one offer a better selfie photos in general? (skin tones, HDR, stabilization) Cheers.

It's not an easy choice as it's a lot down to software. Pixel 6 do a pretty good job keeping skin tones accurate. However stabilization is only ok. On the other side Vivo x70 pro plus was shooting incredible natural pictures on the main cameras but the selfie were only ok.

People tend to forget everything intangible. A52s only gets 2 major updates, starts at Android 11, end with 13. A53 gets 4 major updates, starts at 12, ends with 16. More updates = less e-waste. They mjst get money to support the update so, you missed aonething to get something.

I think most people change phones every 2 years anyway. But for someone who keeps it for longer it's definitely something to consider 😉

@@DariuszTech no... it is not about changing after 2 years. It is about using it longer. If you change your phone, it is either being sold away or there as trash. By providing 4 years of updates, it means you either will get more money when selling it or the next person can enjoy the whatever benefit left. It is why iPhone's second hand value is really high. People know that they can still enjoy updates with it. The only problem with Samsung is We don't know if Exynos chip will survive anything thrown to it after 4 updates. I am saying this since the market price of A52s and A53 in my country is similar, only $20 apart. The only thing that I can't argue is SD is way superior than Exynos in every aspects. A52s package is definitely more complete but in 2 years, it will have 30% of its value. While I think A53 might retain 50% of its value.

Both of the performance benefit can be enjoyed if you play games in your phones. I don't and I believe a lot of people only want decent phones that can be used reliably everyday. The easiest benchmark of a phone is performance since it has the numerical value. A lot of the reviewers forget about the experience itself: the display, the UI, the haptic, sounds, and the stability. I understand since it is hard to test and expensive to test.

I get it if the flagship S2x series has its headphone jack removed, but the midrange? Really Samsung? You also removed the charger in the box which is not really an environmental impact in the first place. Thankfully, I have my galaxy A52 in my pocket, really a worth it device and I bought it for only 19000 Philippine pesos (around 400 dollars).

what about the fact that a52s will get major updates until 2024 and security till 2025 while a53 major updates are till 2026 and security till 2027? Please reply with your opinion as this is the last thing that will determine which I'm gonna buy for my dad. He don't buy phones so often even though he's a doctor. I don't really know much about the software updates as I never pay much attention to it as I change phones every 2 month's. It would be worth checking if with Samsung in your country to compare the difference. Sorry that I can't help

My main concern that I would love to hear your opinion about is my dad's case, not about the differences and features. Which is that he don't change the phone a lot, plus the need for a stable performance throughout the upcoming years. Which I'm thinking could be solved with the extended 2 years difference updates

Samsung guaranteed software updates abd said that exynos 1280 (a53 chip) will get many updates and its performance, quality, graphics and many other aspects will be improved, and its new so we need to give it time, when the a52s on other hand is alot more older and got many software updates for both the phone and the chip, a53 will definitely be better soon.
