So a few weeks ago when the new Galaxy Note 10 first appeared on the horizon, I moved back into last year’s Galaxy Note 9 and started a running list of everything I wanted changed, the things I wanted kept, and at least one old feature I wanted back. Especially with the likes of OnePlus offering displays with higher refresh rates even at much lower prices. Such arguments only encourages manufacturers to keep overcharging.

Funny enough that "zoom in audio" feature was actually introduced two years ago on the $800 HTC U11 -- they called it "3D Audio." Even in undoubtedly their darkest era, they still thought ahead.

User-replaceable battery, non-slippery back, flat sides (even the Edge still had one flat side, and a curve that was actually big enough to be useful). They used some very nice plastics. It was a pretty big step up from the Note 3, which definitely did feel like cheap plastic.

If you're talking about the standard note 10, yes. But, the note 10+ has a higher res screen, bigger battery, micro SD compatible, and more ram. The only thing it lacks in is the headphone jack. Since I've been using blue tooth headphones for years now, that doesn't bother me too much. I can definitely see why people are upset with the standard note 10 though, and that is the more consumer friendly option as well. Thy really goofed on that model, but I think the 10+ is worth the extra $100. That's just my opinion though.

@@olabayoonile-ere4773 yeah its probably just me...I have bose bluetooth headphones that I like to use, but I couldn't tell you how many times I went to the gym or out of town and forgot to charge them from last time and its not like I keep a bunch of USB C to headphone adapters laying around in my car. But what I do always have laying around are wired headphones and now I dont have to worry about non of that 😃

@@wowwow-zm3jy no there is one point to keep in mind. the XR is in every way better than the 8 (which it replaces) except for 3d touch. so you get upgraded inzernals, camera with new features, go from the old display to a stretched one, you get face Id and all that for 50$ more. now this here is a downgrade in areas mentioned in the video and they ask 50$ less than the previous model. (that's atleast how I see it but I have never seen anyone complain about this (the 10e does exactly the same as this but everybody loved that phone, but well atleast wasn't 950 but 750 or so)

Yep, hole punch, notch or anything else in my screen viewing area is an absolute NO for me. The bezels on the Note 9 are perfectly acceptable to me because they don't cut into my videos at all. I personally don't care to have a front facing camera at all. Not everyone is so vain that they need to constantly be taking pictures of themselves.

Best use of the new air gestures on the S Pen for me is when I have my Note on a desk with KZbin open and using it to go to the next or previous video and change volume. Since I have my phone hidden at work half the time and can't be seen openly interacting with it. 😹

Did they fix the Bluetooth/notification problem? If a bluetooth device is connected to previous pie devices... Notifications only come through the bt device. Countless of us want it back out of the phone (or at least the option to choose)

Yeaaaahhhhh, I guess I'll be holding onto the Note8 for a while longer. Not because it lacks a jack (I expected as much and have already went wireless knowing that) but it works just fine for me and given that I've had to set aside money for photographic equipment, an $1100 phone is not something on the cards now, especially when what I have now does the job just fine. I still think the Note4 and the Note9 were the pinnacles of the lineup for being devices with very little compromise, throwing in just about anything you could ask for. I see much of that with the Note10+ minus 3.5mm but the smol boi Note10? Eeeech
