Man that is a sweet ass device. No replacement for the SPen once you learn to include it in your 'flow'. I went back with the OnePlus 12 (Previously 1, 3T, 5T) this go-around after about 5yrs with Samsung (N9, N10+, ZFold3, ZFold4). There are a few little Good Lock tweaks that I miss, DEx is not replaceable, nor is the SPen. But for literally 1/2 the price this OP12 is dead-on phenomenal. Full Stop. Butter smooth, lightning fast. It makes my ZFold4 feel...old already, and it isn't. Still carrying a Note9 for work. And definitely interested in what Samsung may do with the Zfold6. But for the time being I'm happy as a clam with the 12.

I don't care who has the best camera or is the fastest phone in benchmarks. Every flagship smartphone takes super pictures and video's and is blazing fast. 97% of all smartphone users don't even see the differences. I'm a SMARTPHONE user so I want the best screen (dpi/brightness/anti-glare), best battery, best/most usablility and productivity options, best gaming- and multi-media experience, best personalization options and best innovation. I want DEX, KNOX, S-PEN, call recording, multi-tasking, multi-window, fingerprint scanner, best screen, widgets, themes, integration with windows, the biggest eco-system (Samsung SmartThings), fast charging, fast wireless charging and I want AI. On all these aspects the S24 Ultra is destroying the iphone 15 PM big time. So why keep people buying these antiquated, restricted and very very limited iphones?

Great review. Your videos are always genuine, honest, and extremely detailed and thorough, which I appreciate. I have the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and I love this phone more than any device I've ever owned in my life. I can only imagine how much better the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is.

Great content. If you think the s24 ultra is big, just wait for the iPhone 16pro max. It's supposed to be 6.9 inches, which is bigger than the 24 ultra. For me, I'm keeping my 23 14:58 ultra until the s25 ultra comes out.

I really like the ultra line but I need a price reduction (in Brazil it's a little more expensive) because I won't even use some of the resources, it's more for the "dream". i am happy with s24 or plus...sometimes thinking about trying the z flip.

what about the phone as a phone. ie text, email, phone calls. how are they? how does the phone fit in with the Apple stuff you use.
@TacoTechTalk7 ай бұрын
In my experience the phone works great as a phone. I’ve had no issues. As far as how it fits into my Apple stuff, I’m still able to use my AirPods if I want to use them. For my MacBook I don’t really FaceTime or text much so I don’t care for that loss in connectivity. Same with air drop, don’t often need to transfer files between my laptop and phone and if I do, I’ll add it to my google drive.

Nah the screen is still great, but I could not ignore what could potentially have been a major issue for some people. I am not bothered by it since I never have my screen brightness set to a low setting and or in a dark room. Other than maybe at night but even then I dont even notice the grain in everyday usage.

Technically, it's one of the best devices you can buy. Still, I really don't care for the design. When I think about a premium looking device the last thing that crosses my mind is a flat screen. Once more, the perpetual right angles add a lot of bulk and make it difficult to hold comfortably. Curved glass isn't just about appearance. In fact, it's about ergonomics. I'm not trying to be snarky but, I often refer to phones that are designed like this as flat slab Flintstone phones. This may be great for fred, Barney and the gang down in Bedrock but, I'll pass on the iPhone clone and take a device with curved glass any day. Truthfully, if I were interested in purchasing a Samsung device I would actually choose the Samsung Galaxy s24 plus over the ultra this year. In the past, the plus models have been under equipped and completely overpriced. However, this year the s24 plus was given some serious upgrades in the form of quad HD display, 12GB RAM and much larger battery capacity. Frankly, unless you need an s pen and a gimmicky titanium frame why spend the extra money? Especially, when the plus model comes in around $1,000. The base model of the ultra starts at $1,300 and tops out around $1,600. Personally, I passed up on Samsung's offerings the last few years. This year I decided to purchase the OnePlus 12. Moreover, I'm very glad that I did. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and it is an absolute beast. I've owned many OnePlus devices in the past and I've never been disappointed. In addition, I was able to order it at the pre-order price and get it for $100 off. In addition, they also allowed me to trade in any old phone in any condition and I received an extra $100 off. By the end of my purchase, I only spent $700 plus tax. In my opinion, it's a far better value than the Plus or the ultra. Best of all, no sharp perpetual right angles. LOL
@TacoTechTalk9 ай бұрын
Thats a very fair take, but I can see people who see it the other way as well. Where they prefer a flat slab of glass over a curvy and rounded off designed phone. Its definitely up for own taste to choose your preference. For me the boxier and slab feel of the S24 Ultra is easier to grib albeit at the expense of comfort. Vs my OnePlus 12 is not as easy to grip but by far more comfortable to hold. Of course using a case helps, but again its all personal preference.
@dr.fitprofessor19709 ай бұрын
@@TacoTechTalk indeed, it is about personal preference. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Moreover, they absolutely should be entitled to that. On that note, I will say that I've always been a fan of Samsung devices. However, I really don't care for their designs anymore. Truthfully, the s24 ultra is the ugliest phone I've ever seen. Between the perpetual right angles, pointed corners and lack of imagination it makes me think about caskets. For a price tag of $1,300 and up, I would like to think that Samsung could design a device that doesn't summon up visions of a funeral home. Anyway, that's my route of thinking. Again, others are welcome to theirs.

News Flash. The latest software update didn’t do much to improve the screen colors. My old S22 ultra still has better vibrant colors.
@de-luxe4919 ай бұрын
The purpose was for pple to have better accurate color viewing experience. If samsung did this years ago and pple never had the s21 or 22 or any other ones with those massive saturation, people will be fine with it. That screen looks beautiful and acurate colorwise. After few days you'll appreciate the cool look, and your eyes will adjust to it.

There is no grain issue. Those are just people that can't afford the phone (or Apple users). What you are doing to see grain isn't anything that you would do with normal use, that's bullshit.

Never mention Reddit that can disqualify you as a reliable tech reviewer. Nobody I've ever seen has ever mentioned any "grain" issue.. you're the first. Weight ..who really cares? Edge corners squared.. it's not gonna hurt it's non-issue.
@TacoTechTalk9 ай бұрын
I agree Reddit is definitely not a reliable source, but I see Reddit as a place where average users/consumers can talk and share their experiences, the average person probably isn't going to make a full youtube video about it. I always read reddit posts with a grain of salt. In this case I decided to test it myself and I do see the same "grainy" display that other users were seeing. And compared to the previous the S23 Ultra and other phones, its definitely grainier. Now does that affect the everyday experience, no it does not, the S24 Ultra still has a fantastic display that really shines in the every day experience.

Well clearly you don’t read reddit or tech websites, its a issue and for a expensive phone it’s disappointing, like its not samsungs first phone and its a hardware issue.
