I have s9 also 6s and my g6 out performs both phones . Although there are a lot of things that I like about the S9 and the 6S but as a whole performance wise on every day basis the G6 out performs both of them .

I got the G6 and i love it! And i think the rest is just preference of what you like. I don't care for curved edged displays and prefer a flat screen and the G6 has a better grip point on it and it has military standard compliance and the wide angle lens, but the Samsung's​ S8 is a beautiful phone!

Dean Yap No it's not, because i only shoot in manual mode for work with it. Realtors call me in to shoot for quick sales of homes, rooms and landscaping with the wide angle lens. And i email them right after i take them from my phone for them to post.

In technicality it's all preference. But the s8 is factually overall better. And anyone actually believing that lg is using real mlg standards on an all glass device really needs to up their game on how naive they are. You drop it and it's as likely to crack all around as much as the next glass phone. This will not compare to accrual mlg standard phone and devices.

Good Question...sorry in advance for the bit of a rant on the subject. No one is doubting that on paper (if that's what matters to you, the S8 takes the win, but in my opinion by a slight Margin. Yes the S8 has the larger engine under the hood, heads will turn when you take the device out of your pocket at a bar, and if that's the sort of thing your into, then congrats you find your phone. If you think about reason you chose to purchase an android device rather than an iPhone, it was most likely for the fact you can make the device your own. can you make the S8 your own, yes, but to me Samsung is heading in the direction of apple (Just my opinion). When it comes down to it, I made my comment based off of daily use if the phone. The S8 design model was "Big phone, little footprint". It does check that box but for a phone that your supposed to be able to reach across the screen while not compromising screen size, j find more case then not I'm activating the edge of the screen. I also the the fingerprint scanner is almost rendered useless due to its uncomfortable position. Considering most security is going the way of a finger print scanner, that's rather important to me. lastly would be the overall feel of the phone in hand (extremely well built but delicste) and the cost. If you want a lambo to flash to your friends and family then by all means go for the S8, you'll love it, but if you want want to save a few bucks without compromise and are happy with the BMW, go with the LG G6, you won't regret it.

VelronTech but the galaxy s8 is better, I am coming off 2 different unreliable LG G series phone that one was brand new & the other was excellent conditon & never again going back to LG was garbage, the first one battery burned super fast & has swapped battery & even replaced battery still trash, the next G phone GPS stopped working & phone was under warranty but without purchase receipt LG don't care about you lol.... I had trash g4 & g5, & now I own a galaxy s8 & it is beautiful I feel bad for LG users...... Oo yea when I got the G5 the camera was good & I feel like they did a update to purposely ruin it lol but I switched phones isntead of getting another LG scam phone & thats why LG is way cheaper because all the problems

As an s7 edge owner the curved display, even with a case, left my edge vulnerable and is now ~$360 replacement and I lose water resistants. Otherwise I love OLED screens. Bottom line: PLEASE GIVE ME BATTERY LIFE = neither. I hope the V30 or note will be the answer.

not sure, but Samsung AMOLED displays haven't had burn in issues in years, even on the older devices, whereas LG's newest phone has suffered. Not to mention that Samsung actually has the most pleasing and vivid displays that are also the most color accurate. I guess LG is just lazy and keeps OLED for their tvs

I really like this review video. I've seen a lot of these reviews but this really seems to hit on all the most important features. With that said, I still haven't taken my brand new S8 out of the box yet, but now I kinda wish I went with the G6. I like the sharp crisp pictures of the G6, along with the better battery life, the better HDR, the better speaker, the lower price, the wide angle secondary camera, the WAY BETTER finger print scanner, and the faster charging.

This is truely difficult. Both have their slight flaws and I wish the s8 had the fingerprint power button scanner like the G6 and the dual camera options are amazing even if its just for bragging rights. I was going to say s8 but i keep going back and fourth. Im going to check them both out in person soon and make my decision then. Im trying to stick my guns to the LG as I love the few smaller options they offer, like knock knock on the screen and the power button is such a better option. But damn that s8 aesthetically looks like the better phone hands down.

Philip Myer hey! this is literally the exact same dilemma I am having at this moment lol I keep going back and forth between these two phones. the S8 is more aesthetically pleasing... honestly the biggest flaw with it is to fingerprint scanner placement I just don't know if that can work for me. I really like the G6 but the camera doesn't seem that great for me and that UI seems boring.. But on T-mobile it's only $500. I currently have the Galaxy S7 now. What did you decide?

Excellent comparison. Loved the feature by feature camera comparison. I will still buy LG G6 since I am currently using LG G5 and was impressed with their water resistance feature (not documented). The phone fell in the lake and I kept it to dry and it was working the next day after keeping it to dry.

Nice review the only thing I dont like is the curved sides on the s8 to me feels annoying I never really got it when I had a note 7. Makes more slippery and texting harder. I have a v20 and prefer the straight edges so much more. You can see the whole screen it doesnt melt away on the edges lol.

Ive used Samsung for years and being a Nikon photographer the LG wins hands down. Samsung pictures are always over saturated and the Pro Camera Setup on the S8 and Note very disappointing especially at their price point.

S8 takes it overall but the G6 is a solid phone. in the UK it's priced at 649 which isn't far off the s8s 689. mistake by LG in my book. they needed a more competitive price than that.

well you get dual cameras a little better battery life, better speaker, practical fingerprint scanner location, Dolby Vision, better use of the 18:9 screen, faster charging with the LG G6 and its cheaper. Id say the G6 is the winner over all

S Saini​ The Primary Shooter Of The S8 Is Markedly Better Than The G6s. Particularly in lowlight. The S8 also has better software. Does the g6 really have better use of the 2 by 1 screen? Because of photo thumbnails in the camera app? Not sure about that. The s8 also has the better oled panel. S8 go fingerprint reader isn't as bad as folks make it out to be. Plus you've got other options. Then the s8s design is just class leading. Then you've got the 835 vs 821. S8 wins out in the most significant areas

tony okoro​​ no smartphone camera is good in low light they are all pretty bad tbh. Daylight shots are very comparable, OIS is better on the G6. 4k video is limited to just 10 mins in the S8. Using both software and OIS on the S8 results in chopping panning. It's really a toss up. 835 vs 821 equals no real world differences. The type of panel is completely preference, most of the s8s I have seen have a red tint

S Saini you're wrong there. They're getting better and better. In fact I'd say the s8 has very good lowlight quality at all but in the darkest environments. Don't want to debate it. I know cos I've got one. Currently doing an expensive comparison with the s7e and I can tell you the camera is much improved across the board but especially in lowlight

tony okoro sorry again smartphones are terrible in low light. It's seems you haven't used a proper camera, in low light a smartphone can't hold a candle to an SLR or a decent point and shoot. As far as smartphones go the s8 is better in some low light situations but still bad. The concept of a good low light performing smartphone is ridiculous to begin with

for the g6 to have such a slower or older processor it performs almost just as fast as the s8 and the cost ratio is not worth it so LG g6 For me All day. I have the G6 right now and I love it. I use to be a spec person but now I see the difference in spec to cost. Sorry Sammy No Deal.

The specs never matter when the phones first come out. They only matter as phones age. That's why I got with the devices with higher specs. Especially with Android phones. They don't age that well.

Don't know if it matters to you much but there was a speed comparison with g6 and s8. G6 was obnoxiously slow in comparison and had trouble reloading apps ( when multiple apps are opened consecutively kinda test) Not hating just stating some tests I've seen. Either way it's a good phone.

Doesn't really matter in this case cause Samsung always develops terrible lag over a period of time. Performance over time is usually not measured through clock speed but through file management system and other software elements.

I just got the S8 and I LOVE it. Absolutely incredible phone. I was thinking about getting the G6, but when it comes to software, it's the same as my old LG V10 (obviously) and I'm just not a fan. Yeah, I could use Nova, but meh, there's more to it than just the launcher. It's been since the S4 since I've owned a Samsung so I felt like going back and I have no regrets. The S8 in my opinion is the best smartphone ever made, period. I've owned and used many smartphones from the old Droids to the Nexus series to LG and Samsung etc, so I'm no fanboy. Regarding the fingerprint scanner, I personally like the location because of the symmetry. And honestly, I have not had a problem with touching the camera lens. Once you gain muscle memory, you won't have any issues. But, for those of you on the fence, I highly recommend going for the S8.

Sorry Danny i cant agree with you, G6 all the time dude, i love samsung phones but i cant agree with those useless edges, so fragile look and brother come on, 2017 with only ONE camera?? come on man the G6 in the sunlight you can see very good not as much as sammy but who its on the sun for longer than 20 mins, still you can see very good on G6, Nobody prefer using eye scanner than finger scanner, Snapdragon 821 was and is still powerfull and good procesor on any phone that it is using it, no lag or nothing that cant handle, 32gb still enough space for just the phone thats why you have Msd Card on the phones, stop doing the negative on the phones and choosing one side when the 2 phones compete almost equal in everything, let the people choose, simple....

For many people the distortion and reflections on the edges, the hideous Pentile matrix distribution of the pixels that affects sharpness, the horrible icons, the ridiculous fingerprint placement and the small sound stage of the audio, is a deal breaker, so sorry Danny but I guess the overall better experience is quite subjective, for me, the S8 is a horrible phone, you really can't compare full RGB matrix distribution and Pentile, sharpness wise the LCD is so much better

Almost all of S8's shots were warmer than the LG G6. Like the sky, it looks blue on the G6 and not on the S8. I like the blue skies better.

props for this very fair comparison. i have the g6 and am very happy with it it, but appreciate the s8. i just love the wide angle camera and the sturdy feel of the g6. and the battery life is v good IF you lay off the always on display, which you mentioned.

Thank You for this video. It helped me a lot choose which phone out of the two is better and also is more to my liking. The LG G6 is more of my type of phone but the Samsung Galaxy S8 is really good too. The wide angle lens on the camera of the LG G6 can really help me when I'm taking photos with family or friends. This video is by far the best I have watched. Please make more of these videos and keep up the good work.
