Galaxy TAB S7/S7+: Forgot Password Can't Turn OFF to Factory Reset? (FIXED)

Updated: if this does not work then Plug into computer or laptop and try again. 👍
I show you how to factory reset the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 or S7 Plus if you forgot your password, PIN Code, pattern/swipe password and cannot turn off the phone so you can boot into the Android recovery options menu to preform a factory reset. If you forgot your password you first need to shut off the tab but it may ask you for a password that you forgot or maybe the password just does not work. Anyway I show you how to factory reset eventhough you forgot your password. Hope this helps.

Works great! I've been trying to reset my tablet for a while now but couldn't find anything with the "too many incorrect attempts" not letting me power it down. Finally someone who understood the problem: My Mon was not using the tablet and gave it to me, but she did not remember the PW. I powered it and could not get it to shut down to do the factory reboot. Many videos out there, but none addressing the "can't even turn the thing off" issue. This worked for me on the FIRST try! Question: When I go through the setup, it still wants the password or Google account. My Mon does not have either. Any ideas? Thanks!

@@1643901 you just plug it in, that’s all that you need to do. Don’t touch the computer at all. As long as it is connected that’s all you need to worry about. Once that is done, you just reboot it with the buttons shown in this video. The only difference from this video is he didn’t plug it into a computer. Sorry, I saw this too late.

I did this along with you in your tutorial on my tab A and it worked perfectly on the first try! It doesn't react the same way as the tab S7 but I kept holding the power button and volume up button until you told us you weren't going to reset your tablet, just to make sure I held it long enough. The tab acted the same as it does when it restarts but then loaded the wipe data screen

For the S7+ you need to connect it to the PC otherwise this doesn't work. Once you do it works a charm. When you hold the power and down buttons, you will hear when it's disconnected from the PC, it's at this stage I released the down button and press the up volume button. If you do it any later you may accidentally go into download mode. If you do just repeat the process. Thanks everyone for the massive help

Although I did not need to factory reset my tablet, this helped a lot. My tablet was like completely frozen dude. It was lagging so bad and it wouldn't even recognize my four digit pin, instead thinking it was a six-digit pin. It finally worked after restarting it, without the need of a factory reset

At first, I was not able to make this work.... I tried many times, I had the tablet connected to my windows 10 laptop. Then, I tried connecting it to my sister's Mac. No previous drivers installed there, nothing. Tried the steps explained in the video again, and now it worked!!!!!!! I love you man! I had forgotten the pattern I had set to unlock. Then, after reset, I had to re-enter the username and pass of the Google account I had originally setup on the tablet (otherwise I had to enter the old pattern again)

This didn't work for me until I connected the table to the computer my wife originally set it up with. Tried a dozen times without doing that... then connected it to my wife computer and it got to the reset menu using the exact same steps. I hope this helps someone else!

Took me 14 tries. What worked for me is after holding volume down and power i would wait for it to shut off. Then I waited 30 seconds and pressed the power button first by itself and the very instant that it started to turn the screen on I pressed hand held the volume down button as well. What a pain!

I really struggled with the timing on this, then i thought about connecting it to my laptop because when you power off a device it chimes, therefore id know when the reboot had started and i could switch buttons, got it first time then!!

After switching to dex mode, it asked me for my pin. The tablet won't recognize my pin so I've tried over 10 times to try to reset it but it just keeps restarting the tabled instead. Does it need a certain charge to enter the factory mode?
