It's kinda funny I'd been looking at the fold 3 for a little while now watching vids. The other day my phone died died and so I'm taking the bullet. Decided I'd use the spiegen tough case cause there's no bulge when in tablet mode and would give decent support in and outside the mg-x Then I'll use a otg cable because it's bluetooth for added storage, or movies, not sure if I could launch things off that way. But if I can I might add a small plastic case to the mg-x's back center bonding it. Probably heavy, but if it all fits I'll be happy lol

It is very interesting to see the input lag on xbox game pass. I only use gamepass to play games, I had a moga bluetooth controller that had the exact same latency problem. BUT, an actual xbox controller via bluetooth had zero lag, I then got the razer kishi that connects via the type C port also causing no lag issues. So it seems to be the combination of some bluetooth controllers and gamepass, not just a gamepass issue.

The z fold was meant for streaming with stadia...the screen aspect ratio is perfect for full screen gameplay with xcloud and stadia

Any clue if I can just hook my xbox/ps5 to my Z Fold 4 using a usb-c to hdmi adapter. It works for Samsung Dex and shit like that. Rather hook my xbox up to it with the hdmi cable vs trying to stream games

@@MrSeanman30 well to be fair if ur ganna hook ur zfold up to ur consoles u might as well play the consoles lol. But I suppose it's possible if u can find a way to broadcast it on ur phone in its own dedicated channel. I'm sure there's a way...but if ur ganna do that I'd grab the Galaxy tab S7 or S7 plus or the 8 bigger screen

@@Vauntik my TV broke and I'm not buying a new one until after Christmas. I don't need to play my xbox but I'd rather have full games I can play on my console with my phone for the time being lol. In my experience most of the streaming games I can get on my phone are always half-assed games, and that's "IF" it works! My Z Fold 4 was $2k.... the least it can do is allow me to use it as a monitor lmao. Phone cost more than a damn 4k OLED TV of almost any size!

@@Vauntik that's a good point. Anytime I've bought tablets or iPad they just collect dust since I can do everything on my phone that I can do with the tablet, minus the larger screens. They just end up collecting dust and then I sell them while I can still get decent money for them before the next model comes out. At that point I'd get one of the folding 24in portable gaming screens

@@MrSeanman30 yea they sell pretty decent portable monitors on Amazon for a fair price. Might be your best option. They have the refresh rates and the 15-17 inch screen. U can go 4k at more money or stay simple and save. But if I had to choose. Me personally I'd get a portable monitor until I can replace my old TV with a 'proper' TV

Change the resolution of your pc monitor to the same as the phone screen. Boom full screen.

the point is to take the joysticks out to prevent stick drift, look at the DJI Mavic series of controllers, should be done by everyone. or ofcourse hall effect joysticks

Thank you very much for this review, finally someone that really goes trough the product and explains and test everything. It is finally the nice but still portable gamepad for the Fold lineup. Game sir X2 was really a let down, it feels cheap, makes weird noises and does not work with phones in cases (Fold 5 has only non easily removable cases avaliable). TlyDigi Wee2 is amazing, but it was made for small phones, not behemoths like Folds are. Backbone looks amazing, but again, no cases allowed, and it has USB port on the wrong side for use with Fold.

No USB port to me also means that I can still use an USB BT Audio dongle to get low latency BT Audio out of the phone using a codec like aptX Low Latency that the phone doesn't natively support (IIRC Samsung phones still don't even support aptX Adaptive that other Android phones support) or a USB headset.

great video!! I have fold4, and im so new to using controller like this on smartphones and i am just getting into emulator and roms. I just cant stand using on screen controller. there are so many sdifferent controllers out there 😵‍💫 i am very interested in this controller. its not bulky sideways too much. just feature-wise, I am noy sure gamesir or other ones.. hard to choose for newbies haha.. i know that its a no to gamesir type C usb version because of screen position..!

Also have a z fold 4 and I think I either go with the x2 rather than x2 pro since the usb-c position being on the right and I don't want the zfold to be hanging downwards. X2 Bluetooth might be another option since you can center the zfold instead of positioned too high or low.

Eggns now allows other controllers so I switched from the gamesirx2 to the MG-X since I play Xbox gamepass more than eggns. I've been running it on my zfold 4 and super smash runs between 40-55fps .

I rarely game but when I do it's mainly on aethersx2 but was thinking to get that controller just in case I decide to try any switch games
