Poopy synergy seems really good. Big units that can always be buffed cos they will have lower attack than her. Combine that with yordle smith to have your units get bigger and have quick attack. Plus the +1 attack from poppy helps counter winters breath

Unless you pair it with some control cards from frelyord. Remember that even if you have a 10/10 unit on your side, you still lose to a swarm deck

Yeah poppy’s health and keeping her alive is harder but with this new health buff/defense and rally synergy from galio makes poppy scary. And poppy slinging 2 health and impact is pretty much making all the formidable units strike for +3 more each attacking turn.

Any tank could have this effect… but Galio is the only tank in demacia (that isn’t poppy) and gameplay wise this fits demacia more than anyone else (plus if other champions can have formidable that just means riot can revisit this at any time). Besides there’s only a few tanks in league that turn their defence into offence.

In general, it’s bad to design to make an archetype whose win con is mostly dependent on the opposing player’s actions. Control decks play reactively but that’s because their win cons are either massive units or expensive spells. A control deck would be happy with passing turns since they generally just win when they reach later turns. An anti spell archetype (or at least one based on negating enemy spells) isn’t control on its own.

Galio/Poppy, since they all have zero power she has no issue buffing them. The +1 health helps with the Formidable and the +1 power deals with the "kill it if it has zero power" cards. Add in Targon or Ionia for the survivability

I really this archetype is interesting but not great: 1.) The obvious flaw is that Fearsomes can go through them; Formidable Allie’s typically have a 0/X stat-line. 2.) Lots of Spells/Units that prioritize on killing units based on power (For Freljord: Shatter, Winter’s Breath, Rimefang Wolf) (For Noxus: Culling Strike and Reckoning) (For Shadow Isles: Kindred, Despair) 3.) Damage spells are one big counter to Formidable units (but then again Stony Suppressor could be a good anti-spell tech unit)

THe problem with winter's breath is that it will be pretty much a dead card in every other match up. SWW is unplayable at 10 mana. Shatter is ok I guess, but again, subpar in other match ups. Rimefang wolf is not a good counter at all, It is impossible to keep him alive since you cannot frostbite. It will always trade 1 for 1 if it trades at all. Also, if you want to make that Frejlord deck even stand a chance against other match ups, you will have to include a lot of frostbite cards that will be dead in this match up. Like swim said, Fearsomes will be the true competitive counter to this deck.

Entire LoR community: Formidable is cool! This is the type of card I wish Runeterra had more of! Day after the patch we're back to 90% of ladder being aggro, burn and bandle city and Riot will fix 4 bugs and change 1 card per patch. Absolute state of the game, I wish bots were smarter and had stronger decks so I could play vs them and have some fucking variety in my games instead of go wide go face everywhere

I think this deck when it have strong stat it have weakness vulnerable to spell so I think about anti-magic build around stone-suppressor and all cancel from Ionia health potion and twin disciplines will do great job. Best duo here might be jarvan 4 who survive on 6 and get buff from galio on turn 7.

Keep in mind, this card technically counters Fearsome, in the sense that Fearsome cards tend to have super low health, so you will most often will always be able to attack with this card and deal X amount of damage every time.
