You know, you all say he sounds dumb but lorewise his speech manner makes sense, he nicknames everything because he doesn't bother learning names since once he goes back to sleep he knows everything will change in the hundreds or thousands of years he'll be asleep, and the people he meet and the stuff he finds will be either dead or not there anymore. That's why he likes Poppy, because since she's pretty much immortal "She's the only one who doesn't change" as he says. And on top of it all he seems pretty profound at times on some of his quotes.

Her new lore is that she co-founded Demacia alongside Orlon and that she pretty much has been looking for the hero (who is herself) since Orlon died of age, she pretty much doesn't age so she's practically immortal as long as she isn't killed, and that makes her a couple of hundreds, maybe thousands, yeas old.

A lot of people are saying the new galio is stupid or acting out of character, but I completely disagree. Galio only wakes up when he is needed which probably isn't too often so it makes sense why he isn't knowledgeable on a lot of things like what to call curtain items or people. I think this fits his new character extremely well. Not being knowledgeable does not always mean being stupid and him liking to fight is also a part of his character as it's what he was built to do. So personally I really like galio's new character and taunts though a lot of others don't it seems like

Galio was a depressing character, his creator abandoned him, he was awoken by Poppy crying under him, he followed her and protected her and pledged service to demacia for a purpose, he became a silent watcher, wise and sensitive to magic. Now? Is being a Superman such a bad thing? He is depressing on a different level. He is "Giant Magic Eating Colossus", that has nothing to fight. He is a creature roughly size of a castle, that would like to fight something, but cant because who will invade Demacia? And when they do? Its puny armies of squishy humans. Not World Eaters, or Walking Mountains. He wants to see the world, but never be able because he is a guardian of Demacia. He is a symbol he cant even comprehend of what. I feel for the guy.

I actually like the new design more. The old Galio kind of looked odd for a Demacian champion. I get why you're ticked off, but really, is it all that bad? Now a whole lot of people will play him, because he looks badass. Besides, Galio was never Batman. Only Batman is Batman, fool. And besides, Vayne more or less fit the role of "dark guardian." Galio now fills the role of dramatic superhero, which I've been waiting for for a while.

I don't get why people are bagging on this new Galio. Sure, he's thick, but it's an endearing kind of thickness. He's a lovable goofball. And there are moments when he actually gets serious, and you get to see, just for a little bit, what it might be like to sit there, literally forever, forced to watch the world go by while you can't do anything... And then he wants to fight space again. I, for one, love it.

I for the life of me cannot figure out why people don't like Galio. The design and personality are supposed to reflect the ideals of his nation. Why wouldn't the people of Demacia like this larger than life statue that loves a good brawl? I get that old Galio had fans, hell, I was one of them. But I think they did a great job with this one, he's like Ivern in a way. His cheery demeanor makes it difficult to not have fun with him. "I love walking! It sounds like thunder!"

I think that Gallo is somewhat a Demacian counterpart of Sion judging by his role. Let me explain: they both were a statue for quite a while(Sion was contained there as a corpse, Galio was chiseled from the very beginning), they both serve as juggernauts for their armies lorewise, they both somewhat not that intellectually gifted(Sion's brain must have been halfway rotten by now, Galio is just a golem) and they have some particularly great grudge at each other(Sion also refers to Galio with something like "How many times should I fight you?!", not particularly sure), and at last both of them serve as a symbols of their nations in one way or another. What do you think?

I know a lot of people are bothered because they liked Galio's old voice, but lore wise his new personality makes sense. He's a big golem that only wakes up every few hundred years if he's lucky. Fighting is the only real constant in his life so there's no real point of learning everything. I wouldn't expect any profound wisdom from someone like that. Also Demacia as a whole is like a sunday cartoon superhero mashup, he fits in well with them.

The music playing in the background gave me an idea, whenever there's a galio on the team, there's a little radio in the shop playing it, and maybe in the future they can do the same with other champs (pentakill songs if there's a pentakill skin maybe?), makes the fountain a bit more fun :) and a radio is lorefriendly aswell! they probably have them in zaun and piltover, and the reason for the shopkeepers to have one is because they're travelling salespersons. Tbh, a small thing to play some tunes is the base is a perfect addition.

He can cetainly be a fun, new champion on his own, but he's nothing like the original Galio, personality wise. It seems like they just kept the very basic elements from Galio (Not even Gargoyles, just "Made of Stone" "Anti-magic" "Demacian"). He certainly can have a very interesting backstory which will adress the full potenial of his character archtype, but it's just not the Galio people remembered. I think other reworked champion all got their basic elements there. I don't really understand why Riot choose Galio to have a 180 degree shift.
