If you are going to press you have to RUN. Kane has spent the last two games strolling around the pitch. The last game, against Denmark he touched the ball ONCE in the opposing penalty area. Shouldn't be in the squad let alone Captain. His rant against those who slammed the team against Denmark was a disgrace. He should take a look at a recording of the match taking notice of what he did, and if he is honest, he would not only apologise to the pundits and retire from international football. A captain for any team should lead by example, he was the worst of a very bad display. If he had wandered around like that for his club he would have been dropped. But the idiot, Southgate will select the same team, half of them out of position.

I never envisaged Trent Alexander Arnold as a holding midfield player. I always imagined him as an attacking midfield player in later years. Junior moved from left back for Brazil in 1982 to attacking midfielder for Brazil in 1986. Paul Brietner moved from full back for West Germany in 1974 to attacking midfielder for West Germany in 1982. Leonardo moved from full back for Brazil in 1994 to attacking midfielder for Brazil in 1998. Arnold will not get into the England team as an attacking midfielder at this stage but it seems only Southgate envisioned him as a defensive midfielder. Very strange. Gallagher is an average footballer who would fit more in the Scotland team than an England team who want us to believe they are one of the best teams out there.

Southgate problem is he probably overachieved in WC 2018 & Euro 2020. And now he cannot make use of the talent that he have, so down to him. He also seems not to know good player is better than average player. Take TAA for example, when he in good form few seasons ago, he not play him and this season, TAA not in great form, he play him. Good keeper can help win a trophy than average keeper in Pickford.
