@@galacticfederations No even previous tournys we did well we played boring. Its not about scoring 3 -7 goals its about having chances vs teams poorer than us. Scoring 1-2 but have 15 shots and 7 on target is different to having 7 shots 2 on target and 1 goal and we cant pass the ball forward to save r life. If we were Denmark getting results like this then who cares were not though.

3:24 what we've acheived? We are the only nation that considers losing a home Final and a quarter final an achievement. Look it's nice to go deep but let's not kid ourselves. There's way more pressure on France, Italy, Germany and Spain these are nations who expect to win stuff and would consider a semi final a failure. It wasn't really the same against the USA and Scotland. Those games were boring but they weren't shocking, the performance against Denmark looked all over the place, as did the second half against Serbia. Additionally, the substitutes made no impact. Not only the English media but the whole world watching England knows we have been poor and under performed. Let's hope something changes against Slovenia.

They have to break free of the managers tactics and try to play the football that they do for their clubs. self manage/ manage the team on the pitch. Its reminds me of the Argentina team back in 2018. If the team don't really believe in the Manager or at least feel that he motivates them the way their club manager does then its very difficult. 3-5-2 - Simple you can keep the ball longer, smaller connected triangles with more fluid movement. (Jude and Foden can both play in the center together). Harry will have a strike partner, more combination play to unbalance opponents. Pickford - Guehi, Stones, Walker - Mainoo, Foden, Bellingham, Palmer, Saka - Kane, Toney (We don't need natural wingers we need players that can keep the ball for long periods of time and can inter change.) You could even keep Rice and take out Toney and have Bellingham play off of Kane with Palmer and Foden pulling the strings. Mainoo can play as an 8 instead of a 6. Honestly. England are loaded with talent to play pretty much any formation. One last addendum: The mentality of the team overall is very weak. I haven't seen players relentless or with a the body language of a leader (That's the X factor)

Faye is always trying to make excuses for England and Gareth Southgate. All the big footballing nations have high expectations put on them by their fans/media. Sure the expectations on England might be even more intense, but that's because of badly we have underperformed compared to the other big footballing nations. We've massively underperformed. Also people always praise Gareth by saying he's the best performing England manager in decades and that is true. However we also have to be blunt and say the bar hadn't exactly been set high! Lol. I do give Gareth credit for creating a positive team atmosphere something that definitely wasn't there before. So he definitely deserves credit for that. However when it comes to team selections/substitutions/in game decisions and general tactics he is poor. He's always reactive with his substitutions rather than proactive and he looks lost at sea a lot of the time in that regard. Also saying we haven't been able to find a replacement for Kalvin Phillips was utterly bizarre! Firstly Phillips is hardly the most gifted footballer. He's not terrible but he couldn't cut it at West Ham in the end either. On top of that he has Adam Wharton on the bench who is a natural defensive midfielder and more importantly looks a technically gifted footballer. Good passing range particularly going forwards rather than just sideways and backwards, which is very important, and he looks very composed on the ball Michael Carrick-esque and yet he never gives him a chance to prove himself. So how do you know you don't have a replacement for Phillips if you don't give them a chance?! He undoubtedly would have said there was no replacement for Maguire aswell, before Guehi came in and has probably been England's best performing player so far. Finally Faye then tries to compare Englands "slow start" with Man City which was utterly bizarre. Even Stones laughed at that comparison. I think I've been pretty balanced with everything I've said. Btw I'm not a deluded fan that thinks it's a given that we should win this tournament as Germany, Spain, Portugal, France and Belgium (when they're firing) are very strong in terms of the players they have. If we lose to any of those teams whilst performing to our full potential then that's football. However if we perform in a very mediocre fashion pretty much every game and then get knocked out I don't think that is acceptable.

I'm sorry John but having to watch this generation of talent be wasted by management is one of the most soul destroying experiences I have had in the past 35yrs!!!
