This is what is so beautiful about music, the intermixing of the music of people, especially the oppressed creating something new and beautiful, there is definitely an Irish twang to Cajun and creole music, cos it wasade in the fields and the sugar and tobacco plantations by people who made music together to cheer themselves when they were opressed.

The Euro had just rolled out and you had to make sure you DIDN’T get your change in the old currency as the time to change them out had just expired. Wonderful people, ancient culture. Irish and Spanish had and have a very nice joint history, moments of honor and moments of joint struggle ... Many Irish had to come to Spain given the complicated situation that existed with England at that time. People who left their beautiful country to go to another they did not know, with a different language, very spirited and fun like the Spanish, and also with the same religion ... Many Irish people formed families with Spaniards, and fought for Spain with loyalty , courage, honor and unwavering fidelity .. In the 17th and 18th centuries the existence of numerous Irish surnames such as Ó Reilly, Ó Higgins, Ó Conaill, Mac Donnell, etc. was quite common in Spain. I hope this humble comment serves as affectionate small tribute and thanks to all those people, as well as encouraging the Spanish people above all, to study the historical links that unite both brother nations ...🇮🇪🇮🇪🇪🇸🇪🇸

@@danbytp the English haven't been our problem in decades. England as the rest of Europe are finding out very quickly that diversity isn't a strength. @@IrishRose Believe it or not I agree.I have friends here in Southern California that still have family and friends in Ireland."Diversity" to me is a bunch of bs.It's a ploy for those who have surrendered to outside idiots who don't care for the country they live in and give it away to other idiots. The gangs of anchor babies don't have any idea of who the Irish have been for centuries. It's also starting to be a problem here in the States as well with those from south of here.Don't get me wrong there ate those who have contributed to the "fabric" of the culture here.We have people from around the world as does Ireland. However, I have noticed that there is a percentage that don't care for the prevailing culture and don't want to add positively to here.It seems that our countries are being "colonies" of these other countries.I have learned that when I have visited the 11 countries I've been to is to adhere to their way of doing things. That's how we learn how great these places are to visit.I'm from New York City and have area of different ethnicities. We all get along and appreciate what they bring to the table. When these Neighborhoods have a cultural festival all the visitors are "of that culture" and literally have the time of their lives. My wife is Filipina and she enjoys my Scottish,Irish, and German heritages and she has a blast participating as such.Likewise, I have a great time being a temporary Filipino like when I was during the 5 weeks in the Philipines. My son lives in Colombia for the last few years and has no intentions of moving any time soon. His girlfriend has taught him the Culture and he s doing great. And I get to practice my Spanish when I speak with them. And I love it, too.So, in conclusion, I really hope the Irish hold on to being Irish. My Irish Grandmothet was 2nd generation and she never gave up being Irish till the day she passed at 82.God bless her!

How can 1.4K people put a thumbs down to this. Whether you like the song, the culture or the religion this video simply shows pride, love , caring, community and family. I can only assume these people have never met a caring community/nation like the Irish & Scots!!! We love all... come and join us! Xx

@Peacelily completely missed my point in my comment. Not once did I say the Scots share the Irish culture. Why would we want to share Irish culture when we have a very proud one of our own. If you're going to comment then make sure you read and understand the initial comment first.

Three of us took a trip to Belfast, Derry and Dublin a couple of years ago. The country has an interesting history and it was good to know what Ireland has been through. And the people are beautiful, charming and friendly. My Mom emigrated from England to the States after marrying my Dad during the war, so I have a great connection with that part of the world. And I never knew that many Irish immigrants to the US passed through Liverpool before embarking for America. Love from California!
