I feel like it's so important to be talking about this and airing it. You're brave for speaking about it and broadcasting it.

Online slots are very addictive. There are loads on twitch who stream slots. I don’t trust them anymore, they’re affiliates with the online casinos. Thanks for sharing George.

Gambling is an escape from reality. Best is never to start and to face all situations and to tackle the problems. Think only of the good memories, enjoy your moments and to drive forward All the best

Love the honesty here. This style of interview is very relatable and therefore more valuable in my opinion contrasted to some of the other classic “self help” style. Great job 👊🏻

Another great guest 👍 On the point about gambling addiction being a taboo subject I do think sometimes people don't think it's a 'real' addiction and it's just a weakness in your character. Because there's no substance your ingesting I can see why it's hard for people without the addiction to understand chemically what's going on in the gamblers brain. There was a good panorama documentary showing the different effects gambling has on the brain in an addict. Think its still available on KZbin if you haven't seen it. It's with a widow who's husband took his own life due to his gambling addiction. On the subject of casino streamers most have affiliate links to casinos whereby if someone clicks on the link and signs up to the casino the streamer either gets a set amount of money or a percentage of the players losses. As you can imagine this can be very lucrative if you manage to get thousands of your viewers to sign up through your link. Hence the rise in casino streamers.

More education and awareness is needed amongst the public IMO. Once people have understanding, like they do with alcohol and drug addictions, then the perception will change. (All a bit pie in the sky, but we can all hope and dream!).

Have also seen the Panorama doc. Was incredibly enlightening. I couldn't believe the effect on the brain is practically the same win or lose!

That's fair enough and apologies if I was a little short. I am sure that more can be done re problem gambling and that the industry itself needs to look at what they can do. I was just commenting in isolation on his opinion that operators certainly allow punters to win at the start. I am sure George will be in a better place when he is rid of gambling and that he can prosper in his career and I wish him all the best.

The minute he starts chunnering on about them letting you win at the start is the time to switch off. Complete and utter horsechite.

@@THEINVISIBLEADDICTION Of course. In this case, it is my opinion that he is talking absolute nonsense if he thinks that games of chance are adjusted by the operators to ensure that punters win at the start. He says that it "certainly" happens without any knowledge that's the case.

@@gurney2931 Gotcha. The Podcast was recorded shortly after George openly revealed his gambling addiction. I was always bitter towards the gambling industry in my early days, but softened as time went on. It would be interesting to hear George's thoughts 6 months down the line...

When people say that it always makes me wonder if I should keep gambling because I never won at the start, I didn't win in the middle, and I haven't won at the end. So surely I must be due a win? Of course, that's how they get all your money. You look at online slot videos from people like Bandit and he may have 2 bad sessions followed by 8 winning ones. I'm lucky if it's the other way around. Most the time it's 9 losing sessions and maybe a winning one that gives me back 10% of overall losses. So then the chasing begins and you lose that back too.

@@DavidSmith-oy4of Sorry David, I don't understand why you are replying to me but no problem. I wouldn't certainly wouldn't encourage you to continue to gamble David. I can't say I have any proof but I'm not convinced that The Bandit is gambling £100k per session on line but he won't be around for long if that is what is he doing. All the best with whatever you are doing David but I would never send you down the online gambling route, all this b0110x about how a slot has "potential", they have potential to pay you back 95% of your stakes and keep the rest and that's about it.
