9:45 I know you don't normally spend early unit's health to clear barb camps, but that was an archer in the camp near the city state? 2 attacks would have cleared it and saved you future headaches.

why don't you settle near the gem and do a four city start? there's gem, banana, sheep, river, hills and later jungles. seems like a pretty reasonable settle.

Two years later but it would be a big-time forward settle on Egypt. I think since he wanted to setup wonder spam in his capital (HG into Petra) he didn't want to encourage early aggression from Egyptian Chariot Archers.

What is with his social policy trees being arranged differently to how they are in my game? When I play civ the first policy in tradition is between the 15% for wonders policy or the no gold maintenance for a garrison policy, whereas for Filthy here, he has a choice of three different policies straight away, policies which are much further down the tree in my game. Is this a part of the NQ mod that he uses?

It's the early version of the NQ-mod, I believe. If you look at some of his later games (game 180+) there's quite a couple things that a different and not just the order of social policies in Tradition - you can see Filthy opening up Piety there on occasion and so on.

There was a civ patch that changed the tradition policy tree to slow it down a little

SomeGuyWhoHasAnUnoriginalName Alexander is right. It’s a balancing mod changing the shape. It’s a different shape than vanilla civ, even with the latest patch.

@@alexanderabramov2719 I know this is a old post but why did they feel the need to buff tradition this way? In vanilla you have to at least get the useless free upkeep while in cities policy before you can get the good ones. Why would you need to buff Tradition when 99% of the time people pick Tradition already and Liberty is pretty much trash already in comparison... I really don't get that.

@@SomeGuyWhoHasAnUnoriginalName But it doesn't slow it down. it makes it easier for them to get free monuments, happiness and growth. You only have to take that useless free upkeep policy when you finish Tradition instead... It's just a straight up buff when Tradition is already way stronger than the alternatives...

Wow. Here filthyrobot settles 8 tiles away from his capitol, whereas in other games he has gone on hour long rants about someone settling that far on him. Now as Cole is a friend who knows that him winning the game is not the purpose here, he lets Filthyrobot settle the wonder. Afterall to play in a ton of games with Filthyrobot and pick up a little stream/youtube fame. Cole knows his place. He's a good friend and knows his job is to laid down when its time. If needed. In this game Cole's job is to keep the others away from Filthyrobot, not attack him, and then let Filthyrobot talk a possible winner into giving up by promising a future game with his select group of friends... This game ends with no war at crossbows and knights. All the while Filthrobot attacks Egypt to the north, a likely stream buddy who acts like he doesn't see the huge army Filthyrobot builds and then just gives the Civ over to him. Of course Haggai went off script and wiped out Rome, so Filthyrobots' buddies Cole and Tank have to end the game claiming Filthyrobot the winner. Looks better in stream. Afterall if they listened to Filthyrobots rants in his early games when he was losing (before he got friends to let him win) the others are suppose to gang up on the top leader and play for first... never play for 2nd. Here Cole and Tank were willing to be 3rd and 4th. Cole is such a good friend in letting Filthyrobot win he refuses to even use China's top unit against him...

@@albert4860he’s very good, was the civ 5 streamer for a while, and is pretty vocal about when he believes unfair shit happens to him. not a combination conductive to universal love
