A pleasure to hear Jim Gordon's play by play again. Although I was an Islander fan, I always thought Jim Gordon was the best hockey game caller in New York.

Couldn’t agree more- IslanderPride has posted part of the same game from the USA broadcast on his channel, and the difference is striking. Gordon’s call adds unbelievably to what was already a great game. USA not so much.

But they won anyway! The Islanders were better. You know I heard some Ranger idiot say that the Rangers were the 2nd best team in the league to the Islanders during those years. What a load of garbage. In 1980 the Rangers did not make it far in the playoffs, in 1981 the Islanders swept them, in 1982 It took 6 games, but Pittsburgh almost beat them (and I know that Pitt was not second best, that series was a bit of a fluke) and in 1983 Rangers lost in 6 games but so did Boston.

Ridiculous call on Trottier, nullified a goal. NHL did EVERYTHING they could for 4 years to try and stop the greatest dynasty in sports.
