Neat trick esp on open back cabs is to put one of the mics BEHIND the cab.. beefs things up and gives you more of the room makes things feel more 3D

I personally don't have a real need for this, but it looks and sounds awesome. Only $300. Even has a headphone out. Before I got into the Helix stuff I had a big, nice pedalboard and this would have a been a good option, too. It may have even been a better option for me as I hadn't used a modeler before and I did have a hard time adjusting for a while.

Beautiful computer interface. Looks well-designed and inviting to use. A good User Interface makes a big difference.

Love my cab m. I have it in the loop of my HX stomp which makes it really flexible. The enhancer is an amazing addition to the cab m and even if I have everything else off I’m always inclined to keep that on
@MrCgar183 жыл бұрын
that what I was thinking of doing does it add alot to the stomp setup?
@timhopkins38103 жыл бұрын
@@MrCgar18I think it does personally. You can use 2 200ms IRs which I believe is the equivalent of 1 2048 sample rate IR. Therefore at worst you can double up on the amount of IRs used. Given that you also have a preamp and poweramp means that you can just use the stomp for effects instead of amp models. The reverbs and the enhancer improve the sound loads too so it’s definitely something to try out. Being completely honest, I’ve always pondered about upgrading to an iridium to use with my stomp as you can do similar things on that but have 2 other amp types that can have presets swapped using midi which is something the cab m lacks but who knows if that will ever happen…

@@timhopkins3810 im sorry if its dumb but how do you have it in the fx loop?
@timhopkins38103 жыл бұрын
@@MrCgar18no worries 😊 there’s an fx loop on the side of the stomp so you take a cable from the send on the stomp to go into the cab m and then after that either go to other effects or back into the fx return of the stomp. I’ve got a Strymon volante and flint between the cab m and fx return. Once that’s done you add an fx loop block in the preset on the stomp and you’re done 👍 hope that helps
@lushkordz66432 жыл бұрын
@@timhopkins3810 that's what im planning to do with the FX loop of my good old Zoom G9 to improve the Cab-Sim block which is kind of cool (even if very basic) N improve the killer toonzZ of my Carvin X1 tube preamp response already inserted into da loop (with other cool stomps = Ibanez TS Pro + MXR 10 bands EQ + Orange Kongpressor)

Nice video Jason. Making me want to go out and buy another piece of gear. Always great to have a bunch of options, and the studio benefits are amazing. Thanks.

This was a GREAT review. Loved how you went through many details of usage. I just bought one and this really helps prepare me for when it arrives. Many thanks and kudos for a job well done!

that hiss is because the gain on the preamp is high also the enhancer causes some of the hiss too. Keep the gain low and the hiss goes away

This is a great demo and you got really great tones very quickly. Also, your IR's sound amazing.

A "must have" for every guitarist in my opinion. Nice addition to every pedalboard, of course, but even better in combination with good real tube amps. I almost get identical - or at least comparably good - sounds from my Plexitube (with Power Amp and Cab Sim) as I get from my real Boutique Plexi with Cab Sim alone. Direct miking still sounds better, if properly done, but on the other hand, who has a dozen of really good cabinets with excellent speakers at home? Or a R121 or U67? Or different separate SE and PP power amps? I had considered to buy a cheaper alternative first, but I'm glad I decided for the C.A.B. M+. Works equally well with pedals, preamps or complete amps. One of the best features for me is, that you can adjust a lot in Torpedo Remote, but you also can change almost everything or even create new presets within C.A.B. M+ alone too.

Is there a way to totally bypass Cabm+? Sometimes a play with amps sometimes not and I would lile to easily be able to bypass it, without a need of rerouting cables in order to do that.
@numero62852 жыл бұрын
Yes you need to create a new preset with bypassed microphones and no effect.

I love my Cab M+, but since I also needed to get a load box, I’m thinking I should have just gotten the Captor X. From what I’ve seen, other than the lack of the screen on the Cab M+, the Captor X can do everything the Cab M+ can but also adds a load box in.

Hi Jason, great stuff as always. Quick question, what are your thoughts on the ir lenght subject? Thanks in advanced
@jackprice78283 жыл бұрын
I've been thinking about this for sometime now in conjunction with my HX Stomp. Since the amp and cab or amp and IR blocks take up a lot of DSP, why not use an external device like the two notes.

I still don’t get the whole idea…why should I spend 279€ (!) just for a bit more flexible IR loader rather than just load up a IR? 🤔

I wonder how it would be in a wet dry wet set up with the hx stomp? Run the xlr out of the m+ and from the 1/4 of it into your stereo post fx… Basically go 1/4 from fx loop of stomp into the m+ (dry XLR) out of its 1/4 in output to stomp for post effects. Out of the stomp in stereo?

Hi and thanks for the review. I have just purchased the Torpedo M+ and I cannot find any of the 32 cabinets listed in the manual. (the reason I bought it was for the Fender cabs). All the 32 presets are something entirely different, like custom presets with names like Chicken Picking and Texas something. There was supposed to be a preset called Silver 77 which should imitate a Fender Twin Reverb, but it’s not there. I’m really confused. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Peter
