Many Two Notes demos using high gain amps as source. As I'm more interrested in classic guitar tones I must say YOUR DEMO IS KILLER. Thank you so much!!!! I upgraded to plus version immediately and cannot stop playing.
@thisguy29732 жыл бұрын
I think the main reason you see high gain two notes demos is because metal players can only get good tube gain by cranking them out, whereas you don’t have to do that with a lot of classic sounds. So for metal, these kinds of products are being tested to see how well they stand up to cranked tubes.

Great video, just got my Cab M and this really helped me while learning. On the stereo thing, Torpedo recommended putting a stereo reverb/delay after the cab and running it like that. I tried it and for me there was no noticeable loss in tone that way and now I have stereo out. It's not true stereo from the chain but at least lets me run into a pair of studio monitors as opposed to just the left!

Oh yeah! I've been playing guitar off an on for almost 3 decades now. I've been playing junky combo amps, messed around with some junk computer sims here and there, never totally happy with any of it. So I stepped up and got a half stack Mesa duel rec, and it was pretty good.....but the next day it wouldn't sound the same, so I would spend more time tweaking it to sound decent again. Once I got something I liked, I would want a different tone. I would lose all my other settings. Tick me off. Then I got better computer ampsims with 'ir' technology and wow did I ever get close to many many perfect tones quickly. Problem is that it wasn't like hearing a growling half stack, and having to turn on the computer and mess around with proper settings and configurations was a pain as well. All I want is to play guitar using stomp boxes with 'ir' tech and send it to a PA system (I have some krk monitors) and jam already! Can this pedal be my answer?

On the extra computation, the chips in these pedals are programmed in assembly, so you can find all kinds of memory optimizations that all kinds of capabilities. They code them that way because it’s fast and reliable.

Great video, your review about new preamp option finally sold M+ for my pedalboard platform. Great job!
@MartinKatscan3 жыл бұрын
Perfect demo, to fully showcase for what i need (and now i know it's called a 'pedal platform'. ;) Most demos for either Cab Sim pedals or for many premap pedals assume the player wants to use them together with a physical valve amp. My goal is to replace the paradigm of a one-box modeler like an AxeFX or modeling software like BIAS with a pedalboard of fx and amp stack tones tailored to my specific tastes, cut down on the menu diving and 'overchoice' of options and simplify everything into a hands-on, outboard platform for DAW recording. This box seems to turn that dream into a reality. Thanks so much!

I was on the fence about this and other bass amp pedals (bass box and le bass). I chose this, as I can use it for both guitar and bass. As your video indicates, it is a great pedal platform to build/shape a desired tone. Preamp is based on a 74 Bassman. Thanks!

Thanks, Anthony, for the demo and explanation of the TwoNotes CAB M+ for this purpose. I will certainly get that software upgrade for mine. For many players that find themselves playing in a worship band context, there can be a lot of vocalist and instrumentalists on stage. This makes it tough to hold down the stage volume, which can have several negative effects unless your amp is well isolated. Going direct to the mixing board using my CAB M isn’t quite as satisfying as it used to be with my HRDx, but it’s a really good compromise that the vocalists and sound techs appreciate. I’m excited about the preamp emulation possibilities! I use a Giggity preamp pedal right now, which works quite well. It just might allow me to drop that pedal from my board, freeing up some space. Thanks again!

I was turned off by the Two Notes Torpedo Captor X because it had no stereo return to add stereo delays or modulation fx. I use my Two Notes Torpedo Captor 8 by tapping the direct signal from my amp into stereo fx. The amp is dry. The stereo fx outputs go to a pair of Orange Micro Terrors. My other rig is a pedal platform in an amp head. I use stereo tube preamp into a Mos Valve stereo amp and ADA Microcab II. Sounds awesome with my Boss MS-3.

6:46 There are quite a few pedals considered "preamp" pedals (not that good with technicalities, but the PlexiDrive could be one).Think of the Mooer line of preamps. So you could run that, straight into a poweramp (or the CabM) then into a cab sim etc.
@Texasbluesalley4 жыл бұрын
It might seem that way, but I think you'd find that those pedals are actually designed to be run into an actual Preamp, not function as a preamp. Guitar preamp circuits do very specific things to the frequency balance of the guitar signal, producing the signature Fender/Marshall/Vox etc... tones we all know. Without those preamp EQ circuits, the tones would be unnaturally dark. The "amp in a box" pedals are designed with those preamp circuits in mind, which is why (as shown in this video) they tend to sound way too dark when plugged directly into the power amp. The EQ circuit of the pedal is designed taking the EQ changes of a guitar preamp into account, not to replace it. Otherwise the pedal would be unusably bright, if that makes sense.
@salvationlane694 жыл бұрын
Totally agree Texas Blues Alley. I am using a different Cab Sim pedal with a pre-amp and it’s a very dark sound. The same pre-amp through different sources (like the CAB M and the effects loop of a tube amp sound great). The CAB M has a better sound overall then what I am using, and I feel it’s because the CAB M has the new pre-amp feature and just a better designed eq (mic placement). So, not knocking other pedals with Torepedo technology, but the actual CAB M pedal with a dedicated pre-amp pedal to me, just sounds better. That being said though, I do like the Mooer 900 pre-amp pedal and would love to hear it through the CAB M pedal.

I think two notes removed the arcade mode (which is still available in the Wall of Sound VST plugin) from the cab m to provide room to hold the preamp code. If you use the cab m+ for amp modelling, you can probably use WoS inside a DAW to get a stereo split. Of course monitoring latency would then be an issue, double tracking the part might be a better effect; and it doesn't help if you're going into a desk at a live venue, so maybe don't bother??
@salvationlane694 жыл бұрын
Picking up a CAB M on Monday. Going to run a Diezel Herbert pedal through the CAB M and recording through the Audient I22 for studio work. Going to run the Diezel and CAB M for live stuff. I like their new pre-amp feature, but the other features make it well worth the money. Great video btw.
@salvationlane694 жыл бұрын
Also, I wanted to say that I am currently using the Hotone Cab Sim pedal. Not to bash the Hotone, but the CAB M seems more musical. The Hotone has 99 cabs, but the whole pedal seems dark. It would benefit from a better eq. The additional pre-amp and reverb makes it well worth the upgrade. When playing live I think the CAB M with reverb will make a great clean sound too, where as the Hotone without a pre-amp sounds pretty bad.

I just want to record my marshal and my peavey jsx from the direct out. Without being too loud. So I was going to buy one of those torpedos. But I have different ohms going on. Then I figured the attenuation feature seems limited. So why not just build an attenuator for the Marshall and buy a cab m instead and just do what ever ohms I want. So I wrote Sweetwater didn’t get a response . So it all just gives me a headache already. I’ll just jam on my cheap combo and not record at all I guess. Ughh. Maybe it’s not meant for me. Wasn’t it already the perfect pedal platform before the pre-amp update? The whole idea with the original power amp option was so that you could completely eliminate the amp and let the pedals be your pre amp. I’m just confused how adding a Bassman pre amp into the thing makes it more of a pedal platform than the pedal right into a simulated power section then speaker sim.
