I wonder how the vignette would be with my Samyang 12mm or sony 11mm on sony apsc? Also it's weird you need the software for a Mac it makes me wonder if it only picks up in Windows or if it be fine on Linux.

Nice vid. 👍 But you showed attaching a Sigma 16mm lens and mentioned not zooming in your shot - however I think Elgato said this is only compatible with a 20mm lens and above. Are you cropping in when editing your video? Or are you using the Sony Clear Image Zoom inside your camera?

16mm at APSC which is what type of lens that is.. is equivalent to 24mm at full frame. So it’s still tighter than the 20mm limit.

@@FluidPrompter yeah from what I’ve seen it can get a bit of vignette at 22mm depending on the lens build.. but I’ve also seen if you put your camera right up against the glass you can get as wide as 14mm

I purchased a 16" Teleprompter all metal for 140.00 with the ability to accept monitors of up to 16" by 10.2" . I also bought a 15.6" monitor with 1000 nits capabilities and the ability to flip the image on Vertical, Horizontal, and Vertical + horizontal axis all built into the monitor. No need to go through an HDMI Flip Box or Software. I wanted to use the Teleprompter as a normal working monitor when not Live Streaming etc... Also normal monitors produce 400 to 700 nits and appear a bit dull after hitting the two-way mirror... with 1000 nits the image appears nice bright and sharp ... cheers amigos !!!

Superb video, if I have "freewell" magnetic filters on the front of my lens, can I still use this system?

Thank you, glad you liked it! It may be an issue if you have filters on the front of your lenses due to the fact the step up rings need to be screwed onto the lens itself. However you would still be able to use this with the universal shroud anyway

I’d take practicing to be engaging and knowing what to say over spending $280 for some plastic. Even if I needed it to read a stream chat, I could just buy a second monitor, and a monitor arm for less the price altogether!

Excellent video, and yes, I could tell you were using a prompter because of the slight left-to-right movement of your eyes. I work in the entrainment industry and occasionally use professional prompters. The general rule is to stay no closer than 8 feet away and read that should solve people watching eyes move, it also helps knowing some of the script :)

Yeah the distance you’re sitting from it definitely has a large effect, and watching this back as I edited it I could see the movements myself, it’s not awful, it’s just something you have to learn to control if you do have to sit nearer to it. Glad you liked the video!

It has a horizontal margin setting he probably didn't use. Makes the column of text more narrow and would likely have solved the problem instantly.

Literally just screwed the mount into one of the mounting points on the bottom of the prompter. You can find the software on the Elgato website

Trust me.... Desview SUCKS! I have just replaced mine with this and it's like going from a Honda Civic to a Rolls Royce. Fussing with a mobile device on the Desview bracket, and then trying to use their PoS software is a huge hassle. I will be tossing mine in the garbage soon.

⁠@@CRE8VALU 😂 I just bought a 10” Portable Monitor off Amazon that, like the Elgato uses 1 usb-c cable - cost $100 USD. And I don’t use Desview’s app, rather “Teleprompter” on the App Store.

I don’t see why not, if the ring light you’re using is sturdy it won’t have an issue with the weight. If you’re using a camera mounted on there then the prompter just sits on the lens anyway, and if not there shouldn’t be an issue mounting it due to the location of the mounting points

It has 2 "cold shoes" on top. You can slide the ring light into one of those if it's the kind that mounts onto a camera.

They totally dropped the ball by not allowing us to save and re-open scripts... and by not adding a POWER button to turn it off when not in use... but otherwise pretty great so far.

The price tag alone is absurd. You could get 2 monitors for that price that have use. The "use as a monitor" is a joke because it's small and then requires more mouse scrolling and zooming. The camera bit is weird and looks unnatural, would never watch someone that used this because it's gimmicky in a bad way. Nothing about this has value unless you are looking for ways to be like "I bought this so my stream will be better" mentality. Doesn't matter if you're boring.
