You possess one of the most unique channels, even outside of the language learning strata. I rarely comment on videos, yet I feel inspired to do so. I have been learning the Japanese language for almost 2 years now. I have spoken 2 languages since birth. I have done language school formally. I have read books, searched lists, bought into programs, downloaded every popular app you can think of. I am here to say you have the absolute best language learning channel on the internet. I do not feel the need to triple check your material like I do with many other resources. I genuinely trust your knowledge. The topics are things people adore, and you break down the questions we wish we could ask. The format is what people do not know they need, and desire. Your passion shows through your effort, and personality. I say this because I genuinely hope you want to make videos until the end of time. Everytime you post a video, it receives a like from me (hopefully giving you a nice lil' boost in the algorithm). You are appreciated. Never stop learning, and sharing. You have a genuine talent that inspires people, and changes the world 🙏⚡ 恐縮です

Man I'm loving your channel so much. Thanks for all the effort you put into these videos. For a moment I thought that 立会い (Tachiai) sounded familiar. We use this term in kendo when we grade. We call it 立会い because of the panel bearing witness to the grading. Just thought I'd mention it.

The best translation for iikagen is “a good amount” in this sentence it means “that’s a good amount of sleep so get up” usually when people say iikagen! They’re saying you’ve done enough of whatever you’re doing and should stop

Dude, you are the best!! I’ve been using a combination of Duolingo and Wanikani for about a year, and they’ve been quite useful, but finding your channel was absolutely the key to putting all the pieces together. I’ve learned so much from your videos, and I have now been successfully playing a couple games in Japanese, and having a blast!! Keep it up sir 🙏🙏

Just discovered your channel today and it instantly became my favorite channel for learning Japanese. I'm at a level where I know most words I see in the game but without comprehending the sentences completely and this video helped me so much with the small details that I didn't know how to search! Also love your energy!

1:40:03 there are a few reasons why some common kanji words might be spelled without kanji on a SNES game...most likely it either A) looked pixellated all to hell and was barely readable, or B) it was used so infrequently in the game that it wasn't worth spending limited memory space on storing it. if this were published as a book, even aimed at an identical audience, it most likely would have been written in kanji

1:14:59 "I wonder if this was inspired by doctor who" Not sure, that would depend on either wether or not the devs went to the united kingdom and ended up watching classic who back in the day, or if classic who was dubbed and broadcast in japan, I feel the second option is by far the least likely of the two. But other than that, I can totally see why one would think that, the time gate animation does remind me a lot of the intro sequence for the 4th Doctor.

The script writer(s) to Chrono Trigger often use ''poetic'' way of expressions often, even for us Japanese native speakers. We find some lines aren't like the way we usually speak in daily life today. Yet we can perfectly apprehend the meanings of them. I would say it adds some special atmosphere to the game.

i think the most probable reason that 挑 isn't in there is that its position in the Jyōyō kanji list leads to it being taught fairly late in grade school. This game seems like it's written more for middle school level kanji-wise

お立合い is used when you want to gather people's attention when you do some street performance kind of things. We rarely see or hear is today, we see it a lot in Japanese period dramas.

What a subpar port of this game. You're supposed to automatically heal after the robot battle, being able to go into the first battle with 0hp is quite the oversight.

Hi, i have a question. About the 建国 part, it is mark 5 in kansodu. According to them, 1-12, 1 is most useful. Should it be rank 5 or less that we should learn? I heard that you mentioned if it 5 or higher that we should learn.
