@@donerzombie1349 really? It doesn't work on SSD? Curious.
@donerzombie13495 ай бұрын
@@lukeskywalker82 even more than that: On HDDs it actually only works when running as it pulls down the reading head inside to touch and, if it is moving, scratch the disk inside making it useless. As an SSD doesn't have that it is pretty much safe as the inner workings are quite stable and non-magnetic. Also, a scratched HDD is not a safe way to prevent anyone from getting your data as it is probably possible to polish the upper layer, as there is a protective see through layer on those disks. After polishing the disk should work again making the magnetic removal attempt a dangerously unsafe method to clear data. There is software to actively overwrite data on an HDD, which is the best way of deleting it without traces. The written data is basically random scrambling with no meaning, as to overwrite old data which otherwise would still be on the disk after "deleting" it as deleting data on an HDD actually just deletes the indizes for that data from the registry making it unfindable for normal reading operations on the disk. If you just read out all data on it though, you still could get to it, making the simple act of deleting the data useless.

I mean, an IP is generally public information, and not very useful in most cases. If someone is trying to scare you by saying they have your IP, you have nothing to worry about. They don't know what they're doing, and think they can scare you.
