@@Mexican_Rangerexactly, a weakness turned into an unexpected strength is so much more satisfying. Especially because with things like you mentioned, Jon being in direct arrow fire for 10 mins straight and not getting hit isn’t really satisfying, it’s highly unlikely and it isn’t overcome logically, he didn’t do anything he just got “lucky” which is kind of annoying to watch as thousands of other people get shot around him. With Jamie’s golden hand it makes sense, of course a sword isn’t going to damage him if he’s blocking it with metal, but I just didn’t see it coming because we automatically viewed a lost hand as a weakness in battle, and he discovered it in a natural way (reflex). And then… he never used that metal hand as a combat strategy ever again for some reason😞

@dantejordan484711 ай бұрын
@@joeysalazar98And you could totally make it work. Jon’s chosen to be the one true king or survivor or whatever you wanna call him. He’s chosen by whichever gods: the Lord of light, the old and/or new gods, etc. Jon does not take any pride in that whatsoever because he feels that this means that those around him are going to die no matter what and that he has no power to stop it. If it’s meant for them to die so he can live/prevail, then it’s meant to happen. He has extreme moral dilemma over this. Hell maybe he even gets reckless about it by trying to do more things alone, thus resulting in even more people dying. Or even trying to save people from death only to accidentally overlook something else that results in more death. All of this comes to an arc for him where he has to realize the true meaning behind his importance. He has to realize why him prevailing over everyone else creates a balance. If you look at Jon throughout the show, he was never just straight up cruel or soft. He was understanding and forgiving when he needed to be and he was strong and just when he needed to be, never being too weak and soft, or too cruel and apathetic. Hell, he helped dwindle the conflict between the watch and the wildlings. Not only that but that, while yes people will die, they died for him. That fighting to protect the living means having more people alive to fight FOR. Idk I’m a dumbass and it’s midnight, I just think it would make for a good moral dilemma and character arc for Jon, if done right😂😂

Definitely more of use than a golden hand, but he'd lack the necessary wrist movements to fight properly, so chances are, he'd be better off training with his left hand either way. Any idea how much the wrist is used in battle? It'd be almost useless. What wouldn't be useless iss a slightly larger round surface that would function a bit like a buckler. It still wouldn't be as effective as a handheld centergrip shield due to the same lack of wrist movement, but it'd actually be tremendously effective at deflecting attacks. Get a 2lbs arming sword or broadsword and a buckler for a hand and you'd legit be a menace, especially if you armor the right arm even heavier, especially the forearm. Can even get an entire gauntlet. You'd basically have this ''Haha, fuck you very much'' waving around in your opponent's face every time they try to slice you.

John snow is the only where he was supposed to have "plot armor". It was supposed to be like something was protecting him.

Brother if there wouldn't be any plot armor, there wouldn't be any show left beyond a few seasons.

And it's a specific plot point in the books that Jon thinks the Wights are likely intelligent. "Can they talk?" asked Jon Snow. "I think not, but I cannot claim to know. Monsters they may be, but they were men before they died. How much remains? The one I slew was intent on killing Lord Commander Mormont. Plainly it remembered who he was and where to find him."

The “plot armor” argument is just so stupid, the writers put them in that position to begin with expecting the same result that they could’ve get to in many other ways.

I'm actually fine with Jon being luckily saved during the bastards battle because it shows even though he is a great warrior, he can't survive war without luck. Making the white walker punch him instead of stabbing him on the other hand is just bad fight scene writing and makes no sense because it's just made to "look cool". Make him barely parry with furniture, or dodge and fall, he will look weak but alive in a more credible way.

Those wight battles of beyond the wall and specially long night look even more ridiculous after you read the battle of fist in 3rd book. A wight just grabs some guy and twists the head. From that battle it looks like wights are very strong but not fast. In show wight's abilities depend on the situation and what plot wants.

I could imagine that the white walker knew jon was about to grab dragon glass weapons, so he wanted him away of it asap and not possibly attack him one last time before dying. Probably not the case here tho and more plot armor like in the scene afterwards

I never understood why Jamie didn't switch to a lighter sword he could wield with 1 hand but still fought with his heavier 2 hand sword

"Season 8 has so much plot armor". Other seasons:

Not to mention The Moutain who was cut and wounded multiple times, then pierced in the chest by a spear, and after like one minute of agony lying on the ground and loosing blood, was still able to put Oberyn to the ground and crush his head...like, ok he's a beast, but he still got internal organs, right? No? 🤷

Jaime stopping the sword with his golden hand was clever as hell, not plot armor. Now the plot the scene existed in? _That_ was garbage. Edit: Also, Jaime sinking in full armor (right at the edge of a river, too, where the water should be relatively shallow?) only to be miraculously rescued by Bronn was definitely plot armor.
