It should have ended like that but not with her burning kings landing or her losing her friends. She should have been there with her trusted advisors and they should have made a plan on who would rule after the king and queen were gone. Dany should have allowed Jon to father children with someone they selected so the bloodline would carry on or they made it a Democracy.
