@@warbler1984 that's relegated to about a minute of screenbecause there are more important things to think about. in the last two seasons, they have relied a lot on subtlety and things happening behind the scene. the same old politics that have been seeing for so long, would have got repetitive. to me, it's easy to see that. maybe, behind the screen, they did have an argument. The more important stuff is the Dany's plot and how real it seems when you consider historical regimes whose tyrannical rules have premised their rule on destiny and "saving the world". It's actually brilliant to have a fast-forward storyline that doesn't get repetitive or boring, having the audience constantly at an edge. Political gimmicks(bad decisions, treachery, yada yada) have been employed and got done with, in the previous seasons. S 7 - 8 was time for some real action.

@dodo2208 but the show doesn't foreshadow it as well as the book do... with the show's sense of logic, anyone can go mad. Sansa can go mad because she nearly pushed joffrey to his death, and fed ramsey to the dogs. Jon could go mad because he killed a young boy for killing him- a boy who was only doing what the other adults around him was doing, and then there's the scene where he continuously hits ramsey, and only stops when he sees sansa standing near. Arya could go mad well, because of all the crazy stuff she's done, randomly stabbing people all those seasons ago... literally anyone could have gone "mad king/queen" it was a rush job, and the writers had to start putting the pieces together so they fit more or less... #notmydany

@JustApable5 жыл бұрын
@@zurzakne-etra7069 except Sansa hasn't been too full of herself or obsessed with her "destiny", like all those zealot Marxists who have slaughtered innocents throughout history for a "better world". And Arya never stabbed people "randomly" bruhhh. Neither Sansa nor Arya had nuclear bombs that led them disillusioned into believing that their life "purpose" and character are impeccable. Arya could have "gone crazy" but she listens to others, she listened and didn't set herself on killing Cersei. And Sansa has always been calculative, shrewd and grown from being an impulsive teenager. Meanwhile, Dany was continued to be portrayed as someone full of herself with that old saviour-complex rhetoric. Plus that shizz about how D&D are rubbish and only George R R Martin knows how to tell stories, is getting old now. Screen adaptations are different. Plus if y'all don't have taste for subtlety and realism, it's not the writers' fault.
@patgnza97235 жыл бұрын
HBO actually offered more seasons and all the screen time D&D wanted with Martin's full support. But the douchebags chose to end the series right there and then cuz they're jumping ship to Disney. Besides, can we just respect everybody's opinion about the outcome of the show? We know Dany's madness is inevitable, foreshadowed throughout the show. But you cannot deny, that this, among other things were executed very sloppily and feels rushed. It doesn't do the characters justice, turning dany mad in one episode, the threat that could destroy the world that is the mad king defeated in just the first kingdom he invades, bran not wanting to be lord then agreeing to become the king like really? Plot doesn't do the whole production justice.

Whether you’re a Dany fan or not, you have to admit, this season didn’t treat her right. Her descent to corruption was inevitable, after seeing how the direction of the show was going. We can’t deny this direction of her character anymore, but the way she goes down the path that she did was absolutely atrocious. They shoved her reasoning for mentally and morally snapping into four episodes - FOUR. As if her character development from the 7 previous seasons were rubbish and were not stable enough to slow her descent. And even so, in the end, this ending wasn’t bittersweet. It wasn’t bitter at all. The surviving characters are more or less in positions that will bring them happiness or that they’ve wanted for a long time. Sansa is now a queen, as she’s always wanted. Arya is traveling and going west, because simply settling down is not her. Sam is the Grand Maester, Brienne has been knighted, Bronn got his damn castle and is even the Master or Coin now, Tyrion is Hand of the King again, Bran is the new king, and Jon is now going to the true North to live out the rest of his life with the company of his best friend and his dire wolf. Jaime died as he wished; he died in the arms of the woman he loved. Cercei lost the throne, but at least she died with Jaime and in a way where she wasn’t directly killed by Daenerys. But Daenerys died just feets away from the very throne that she spent her life trying to get. The very throne that her ancestors forged and ruled over for three hundred years, a whole dynasty ruled by Dragons. She was a little girl with the dream of carrying out her ancestor’s legacy, by taking that same throne and ruling as the last living FULL Targaryen. And when she finally got to it, she was twisted beyond repair by the loss of the people she trusted and loved, betrayed and failed by the very person she trusted to help her get to that place. In the end, she got there by abandoning her own morales and principles. She was broken and now viewed the world in a twisted sense of justice. She was no longer herself anymore. And then came the final betrayal that costed her her life, in the form of the one she loved. And even beyond that, now her last dragon, which was her favorite among the three, is in the same position that she started her whole journey in. Her last child will now be alone in the world with no love to be given.

maspleben Composers often reorder scores like this to create their own musical continuity. It allows the soundtrack to have ups and downs and musical variety and exist on its own terms. Its also why a lot of the time the soundtrack won’t match the exact one used in the show, or why a lot of music never makes it to the soundtrack.

Drogon burning down the Iron Throne has to be the highest point not only for this season but also for the whole series. The beast knew that it was the reason behind all of the carnages and destructions. A dragon forged the Iron Throne and then another dragon destroying it is just like making the full circle. How iconic!

@omenxr3035 жыл бұрын
That's not even remotely true. You're just trying to project your fan-theory as truth. Nothing changed at all when Drogon melted the throne. There's still a king who rules over the other kingdoms (except the north because "GIRL POWER OMGG"). Nothing changed except the way they elect the new king now, which is arguably a far, FAR worse system in a feudalistic world. Everytime the king dies there's going to be a power struggle for succession instead of choosing the successor via birthright which eliminates (mostly) this power struggle. Just admit that the finale (and the whole season) made 0 fucking sense.
@tanmoy8225 жыл бұрын
@@omenxr303 Go and rewatch the season 6. Tyrion said Dragons could be more intelligent than men. Why do you think Drogon didn’t burn Jon? In every system, there is a ruler/king. We have presidents/prime ministers nowadays, haven’t we? There will always be someone who will rule the people. Before last episode, only one family could rule the whole kingdom but now other families have their fair chances. Now they can choose the best one fit to rule rather than submitting to a tyrant just because his/her father was the king. I never expected them to adopt democracy outright. But it's a start. At least they demolished typical process of monarchy. And do you think D&D wrote the script without the guidance of GRRM? If yes, then you're a fool & have no idea about the show. Maybe in the books, there will be more buildups before everything goes to hell but the end will be more or less the same. Dany will die, no one will sit on the iron throne & some form of democracy will be introduced.
@omenxr3035 жыл бұрын
@@tanmoy822 Yes dragons are supposed to be 'even more intelligent than men according to some maesters'. I know the line by heart. But if you think that's a good enough explanation for why a dragon wouldn't torch the murderer of his mother, it really isn't. Dragons are smart but also ruthless killing machines so when he sees his mother murdered you'd think he'd be at least a little angry and murder-y, no? He simply melts a chair and fucks right off. It's lazy writing. Yes Drogon melted the Iron throne but it still exists as a concept, only the physical thing was destroyed, which means it didn't matter. Do you really think all the lords of Westeros will agree on who should be king next? Why did Yara and the Prince of Dorne even agree to put Bran on the throne? They've never met him and those 2 kingdoms are famous for being rebellious; but they suddenly do a complete 180 (they were pledged to Danaerys only) and agree with some weirdo kid being their king? There's no way that could happen, so we're right back to war/other kingdoms demanding indepedence by threat of war. The problem with this season is that you have to fill every blank on your own and there are a LOT of blanks (Unsullied, Dothraki, Varys' letters, etc etc), and to do that you have to cast aside logic and character motivations. This isn't Game of Thrones anymore, things used to happen because of the logical choices characters made, now things happen because the plot demands it even if it doesn't make any sense.

I dont think it was ever her destiny to actually sit on the throne. Because of her actions, she did manage to do what she set out to do. However, she was like a dream, magic and fire incarnate, destined to pave the way to the realisation of peace, just not at her own hand. Every step she took chiseled away her own sense of humanity, and she eventually lost all those that kept her tethered to what remained of her innocence. By the end, all she knew was "Fire and Blood". I would burst into tears because I associated the song with loneliness I was feeling at the time and the fact I was in love with someone and it could not be reciprocated. It took almost four long years, but I healed from the emotional scars this song reminded me of, and now the song no longer holds any power over me beyond now being a favorite piece of music.
