NOW ON ALL STREAMING PLATFORMS! Please share and enjoy!! song.link/album/i/1475420761 Some Piano facts and other things about the piece/my arrangement! You have here EVERY note of the original piece by Ramin Djawadi, harmony and melody. If not every, at least 99% ;) Like every other of my videos, I want to adapt the original orchestration down to the very detail, even if it involves some piano schenanigans! 0:48 - 1:07 I love the sostenuto pedal (left foot here, middle pedal in modern pianos). It lets you keep one chord ring while still be able to refresh the regular sustain. Here I use it to keep the A drone we hear in the OST 2:33 sometimes when doing my arrangement I find a technique I've literally never done on the piano, here is one: G# & A with the right thumb, very weird fingering but hey it does the job! 3:55 from this point until the very end of the OST, the tempo is set at eigth note = 119 precisely! You see me turn on my metronome backing track at that moment... Practice with metronome kids! 3:55 ... and I just realized I'm only 1 second ahead of the OST heh 4:36 and the award for the most useless accuracy fact of the year: most of the piece is in 4/4, so 8 eighth notes. But for some reason, THIS measure contains NINE eighth notes!? The OST is precisely set on a click track, you can check (might be for a ritardando effect). Well, I included this extra eigth note in my recording ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ you won't find that detail in many other covers! 6:32 - 7:53 the left hand arpeggios are note for note what the cello does in the OST. Cellist friends, you could take the left hand part of the sheet music and do the job :) 7:30 one of the truest thing in music I found out over the years is that great ideas often come from stupid mistakes. I did a test recording of the piece and I completely missed the bass chord on the down beat at 7:35. It sounded AWESOME. So I included it in the final arrangement hah! 8:08 - 8:40 alright, the great finale. Why it is so great? I'll tell you, and you should tell everyone. This entire section is based on an excquisite 4 to 3 polyrhythm. The right hand is playing strong slow triplets (and then sextuplets) based on a "3 sixteenth note" feeling: this is the main beat (the one you clap in your hand naturally). All the while the left hand is hammering down groupings of 4 sixteenth (not the main rhythmic feel), hence the incredible tension in that part (and why it is crucial to play it that way). Try to see those groupings with my hands and then try to feel them in the OST! A 4 to 3 is quite tricky to feel naturally, so practice that one!

These type of balanced arrangements are quite rare to find. One that is rich enough in detail to make it sound like the original but not make it sound like it's stuffed with too many notes. The arrangement is not awkward at all to play, just takes a little bit of practice with that left hand.

Well, there it is. I can safely say I've never been that emotional while watching an episode (or a film) for the first time. Last week's game of thrones episode was something else. Maybe it was the culmination of 8 years leading to this moment, maybe it was because of the inevitability of one's death,... or maybe it was because I was team Night King :'( Anyway, the big final scene of GoT's S08E03 was an artistic masterpiece that I'll rank in my top most poignant scene I've ever seen. Even more than season 6's explosion of the Sept for me! The never ending crescendo, the absence of words, the incredible scenery of the Godswood, the rushing thoughts of "what is gonna happen"... And the piano (i like piano). Now that I haven't slept all week, I can sit down and let you enjoy my third GoT's epic (along with Light of the Seven and The Spoils of War). Hope you like this one and enjoy episode 4 :)

Thanks Ryan :) yes, I'm not into those "synthesia" video productions. Nonetheless, I totally understand their appeal and it is definitely not an "easy way" to make piano videos (if we're talking video production). For me, I prefer a more "human" and "real" approach by showing someone (me) play the piece.
