I will steal this comment from another video: "Jaime says to Ned that when Ned's father was burned to death there were 500 men that just stood and watched and no one dared lift a finger, 500 men and the room 'stayed silent as a crypt'. This scene says a lot about Jon's great character. The same circumstances, a King burning a man to death, the people feel pity towards him but no one lifts a finger or says a word, no one but Jon. This really shows how Jon is one in a thousand."

“Find the men who did this, and bring them to me.” Anyone else ever wonder how difficult it might be for subordinates to carry this out? I feel we hear lines like this all the time in fiction, but if it were me... “Uh... Okay! Right on it, marm! I guess I’ll start questioning people... And look around... I don’t really know what you want me to do, but I don’t want to find out what happens if I fail!” Like, I’d be so screwed, lol. Stannis isn't full in the books, especially since we're given a much bigger window into his mind, for instance, the scene in A Clash of Kings, Davos I where he explains to Davos why he's embracing Melisandre when he's never been a "godly" man previously: "I trusted in his wisdom and your wiles, and what did they avail me, smuggler? The storm lords sent you packing. I went to them a beggar and they laughed at me. Well, there will be no more begging, and no more laughing either. The Iron Throne is mine by rights, but how am I to take it? There are four kings in the realm, and three of them have more men and more gold than I do. I have ships . . . and I have her. The red woman. Half my knights are afraid even to say her name, did you know? If she can do nothing else, a sorceress who can inspire such dread in grown men is not to be despised. A frightened man is a beaten man. And perhaps she can do more. I mean to find out. "When I was a lad I found an injured goshawk and nursed her back to health. Proudwing, I named her. She would perch on my shoulder and flutter from room to room after me and take food from my hand, but she would not soar. Time and again I would take her hawking, but she never flew higher than the treetops. Robert called her Weakwing. He owned a gyrfalcon named Thunderclap who never missed her strike. One day our great-uncle Ser Harbert told me to try a different bird. I was making a fool of myself with Proudwing, he said, and he was right." Stannis Baratheon turned away from the window, and the ghosts who moved upon the southern sea. "The Seven have never brought me so much as a sparrow. It is time I tried another hawk, Davos. A red hawk." -Davos I; A Clash of Kings

I think there’s a slight difference between book and Show Stannis. Book Stannis shows a more “break before I bend” mentality and is very uncompromising with his ideals, I couldn’t ever see him burning Shireen because knows in his heart that it’s wrong. Show Stannis is also stubborn, but in more so he’ll do whatever it takes to fulfill his “destiny”, not even his daughter can stop that.

Everyone keeps saying the enchantment on the wall broke when Danny flew her dragons across the wall, but it has to be when Bran crosses under the wall. Minutes after the night king touches his arm his whole crew walks into bloodravens crib whereas before they turned to sticks. This is what broke the enchantment Bran crossing through the wall because he's not dead but he's still marked by the night king

33:09 "First time she calls them Viserion and Rhaegal?" Yep. It's honestly little technical script things like that which are my biggest personal problem with the show. A lot of people would say bad storytelling like in Dorne or book fans will gripe about differences... but that's all subjective. Not establishing the names of the other two dragons until season 5? That's just an objective mistake. And it's hard to see how that could have been just an oversight. They have to have thought about saying Viserion and Rhaegal's names at some point, but never cared or took the effort to do it. There were many opportunities in season 2 for Dany to say their names onscreen. But if someone were to watch this show without any outside knowledge about it, the ability to look up things on the internet, etc... they would assume the other two dragons are nameless until this episode. And especially considering what eventually happens with Viserion, it would have been beneificial to do as much work as possible to establish him as a character in any way you could, even if not as much as Drogon. The LEAST you can do is tell people their names. No extra CGI costs required. I get that they have to limit the shots of the dragons, and they focused their attention and resources on making Drogon the hero model which would stand up to the most screentime. But that doesn't mean that Dany had to ignore Viserion and Rhaegal to the point of not even mentioning their names, when she's said "Drogon" like a hundred times by this point in the series. That affects nothing in terms of saving money or fitting into a production schedule. That's just a writing decision, and it doesn't seem like a good one to me.

AWS Vids eh, I agree with you, but bad storytelling isn’t objective, and it’s noticeable. When a character’s actions make no sense in the circumstances, or when the writing is considerably worsened in the show, it sucks.

"Daenerys has good intentions, but not good decision making. And we see that over and over again with her but she's learning. And she's put into a tough situation, I mean, to learn to be a ruler, unlike "Young Griff" who's been raised to be a King, she needs some time here, it makes sense why she keeps making these poor decisions." The sentiment behind THAT statement Is precisely my point; why Daenerys has never been wasting her time or just "spinning her wheels" in Meereen. As so many people suggest. Not only does she need to be at the height of her military power before she can even consider trying to take the Iron Throne, she needs to have spent enough time making all the mistakes and bad decisions while she's essentially "practicing" being a Queen in Essos. Otherwise, even if she can manage to take the Throne, she would have next to a zero chance of holding on to it very long at all if she shows up an amateur ruler. In all reality, she couldn't have ever left for Westeros until the end of season six, at the very earliest. Because it isn't until then that she has her Army of Unsullied, her company of Second Sons, her Horde of Dothraki Screamers, her Dornish and Ironborne Westerosi allies and her three full grown Dragons. It isn't until then that she has a fleet capable of getting all of her power and entourage to Westeros, AND most importantly of all, it isn't until after season five and six that she has all the hands-on experience necessary to be a competent ruler. Sure, she could have set sail at the end of season two or three, and she may have even been able to put up a good fight with her Unsullied Army, but there's no WAY she'd still be Queen by now, if she had even managed to somehow win the Throne from the Lannisters. We all spent YEARS getting all excited about her finally leaving for Westeros. Our patience wearing REALLY thin at some moments lol but it really isn't until we have the perspective of hindsight that it's possible to understand why we had to wait so long. There's really no point in suiting up or stepping out onto the field if you don't know how to play the game.

I have always felt that the Dragons reacted that way with Daenerys because they did not recognize her. She was afraid, of them. That whole Arc in Mareem was a little test of what it would be like to rule Seven Kingdoms when at that time she ruled only three and she was afraid of all the events that were happening during her short reign. It wasn't until the end of season 5 where she decided to faced the trials head-on. That's why I love that scene when she rides on Drogon towards the Armada and Viserion and Rhaegal just bust out of the Tomb with no help required, knowing that their Mother had truly returned.

I get Mance is decisions. He only got these people through respect and a promise of safety without compromising their freedom. If he knelt, they wouldn’t follow him as a King. The Wildlings don’t want to fight to put a southern king on the throne that will expect to rule over them. They’re much like the Northerners. They’re willing to die for their independence. Jimmy Dean Bowl I disagree. I don’t think he truly bent the knee to Daenerys and that whole scene was just off. For me I think he’s just doing everything he can to get and keep her north and will say anything and do anything to achieve it. But that scene was not formal or official and he made no oath like the Karstark and Umber children did that very same season to Jon when they bent.

YOOOOO That maggy the frog scene is huge. Cersei is trying to have another child because she knows the prophecy forsaw Daenerys overtaking the thrown. Hear me out. Since she also found out she would only have three children, I believe she is trying to have a fourth child because if the child is born, it renders the prophecy false, and if the child isn't born that means it is prophecized that she will lose the throne to Daenerys anyway in which I'm sure she wouldn't even want to live anyway.

Have you ever thought that the reason the show has left out certain book details is because those details aren't part of the ending of the series? Take the Young Griff storyline, for example. Maybe he will be exposed as a Blackfyre pretender in The Winds of Winter, which will explain why he isn't mentioned in the tv show. I know GRRM is a "gardener," but I think he has gotten carried away by adding too many extraneous details and characters over the years.

I don't really mind that the Young Grif storyline wasn't included. I think it makes a lot of sense, even, in a TV-show where you have a lot of casual viewers: it would feel "old" to have the revelation that there are actually two Targaryens left alive apart from Daenerys, like using the same twist twice. It's the same with Lady Stoneheart, I believe: having two main characters (Cat and Jon) brought back from the dead would have made Jon's resurrection less impactful. The show chose to concentrate on Jon rather than to follow all the storylines from the books, and the narrative choices reflate that. Whether it was a good choice is arguable, but it's at least coherent.

Marie Alexandrinne there’s a very large difference between Jon and Catelyn’s resurrection tho. Catelyn isn’t a focused character past her resurrection, where Jon most certainly will be.

At 6:40 you said Cersei was, "destined to have three children." She's had FOUR. That weird, "Maggie the frog," lady told Cersei that she would have three children, "Gold their Crowns, and gold their shrouds." but, including the child she had with Robert, her, "little black haired beauty," that died when only a few months old, Cersei has had four children. The so-called, "prophecy," was essentially rendered completely null and void the day that Tommen was born. It seems like ALOT of people forget about Cersei's first-born child. I see more reference to that supposed, "prophecy," and the, "valonqar," part that is only mentioned in the books, to support people's Incessant theories than anything else they're speculating about for the show's final season, it's like I'm taking crazy pills lol it's kindergarten-level arithmetic! Whether she's pregnant or not, and whether or not she loses the baby before it's born is irrelevant because the Maggie the Frog is wrong. Cersei has already had FOUR children, not three. "Maggie the Frog," has NOT been on the money. Not since Tommen was born.

I think she lied to Catlyn. How would she not know about the heir to the iron throne dying. I think she never had that child.

I haven't gotten this far with Stannis in the books, I'm nearly finishing the second book, but I still enjoyed Show Stannis. Even when Shireen gets sacrificed. I obviously hate the idea of him killing his daughter, but I very much defend him for it. I'll explain why when we get to that episode. Wish Mance would've survived longer too, him and Jon as allies would've been great to watch, tho Jon and Tormund is pretty good too.

Can you guys redo seasons 6 & 7, even if it means doing them alongside season 8? I would like to see what your opinions are after some time since the airing of those episodes. I kinda get the feeling that because they are redos they would be a lot shorter. Also, just putting this out there, I'm a defender of seasons 5 - 7.
