I've been watching a lot of KZbin clips about the fashion of Game of Thrones. I really love this episode because of what they do with her wedding dress. Especially when you compare it to her wedding dress with Tommen. There are a lot of subtle meanings behind all of the intricate details of her wedding dress. "Time flies when it takes two weeks for each video" I love when people are self-aware and make fun of themselves.

Despite Shae being one of my least favorite characters, the scene where Tyrion sends her away and treating her like less of a person always hurts me to watch, for Tyrion to direct that much false pain and insults to her as a person must have been heartbreaking for him after everything he suffered through until now.

These Game of Thrones revisits are amazing. I watch them as quickly as I possibly can whenever it comes out. It’s really the perfect recap. It’s not just because they have a great show to discuss either. These guys made me watch through Season 2 of west world. Season 1 was amazing, season 2 wasn’t nearly as good as season 1, but Kiksuya was the best episode of both seasons. I would have missed that if it weren’t for these guys. Thank you for the work you guys do. I hope HBO has an amazing show coming up for you. Or maybe you guys could do something awesome like Ozark or Black Mirror.

I can understand Bran losing more of himself as opposed to Bloodraven still remembering more of himself because he had much longer to live life and have a sense of who he was where Bran is a young child at a critical age. He's seen such tragedies and been through so much, moments like running around free again, seeing his family without being able to interact with them via visions, I would imagine it would make him more robotic as we saw last season.
@blackbird_entropy
@blackbird_entropy 6 жыл бұрын
Batshine Exactly. Bloodraven had a character that was developed over decades, experienced good and bad events and got to really grow up. Bran never got the chance to which is part of the tragedy of his character, and most of the Stark children really.

I love the shaving scene because it's such a subtle but powerful thing to show Theon's submission and loyalty to a man that tortured him so incomprehensibly. Especially when he finds out that Robb was killed, the person he thought of as a brother and who he might have considered his best chance of getting released (even by death) from Ramsey. He learns that Robb was killed just as he has the razor at Ramsey's main artery. It's such a small thing to let someone shave your face but it really does show control in great visual storytelling.

the cool thing about the family words, all of them are boasts or threats, and do have two meanings ours is the fury/baratheons, we do not sow/greyjoy, hear us roar/lannister, tyrells growing strong is a play on the flower theme, but also how they yoinked the high lord status during aegons conquest from the previous rulers after they got melted but starks winter is coming, its just a warning.. unless like the saying of lannisters pay their debts, its implying they ARE the winter, and not just an omen about actual winter and the Others, especially if they have some connection to them

They probably would have used other methods. Sending the Golden Company against Westeros would likely not yield results. Instead they would play economics. In the books, Mel burns Uncle Flurent to gain favorable winds for their sea voyage to the Wall, and in the books, while Stannis' hand of the king, he wrote a letter to Tywin saying that Stannis will surrender and that Shareen will be married to Tommen so that when Stannis dies, the Lannister's would basically get Storm's End and he did this without Stannis' knowledge, so that's treason so he deserved to die. The show makes Mel way more evil than she actually is in the books.

Paused at 15:22 to say that (imo of course) Tyrion couldn't explain things to Shay because she, as a person, has a very strong-headed & stubbourn personality. As in, she believes strongly that everyone has a choice and freedom to follow that choice if they really want it. Tyrion would say that it isn't that simple in his situation, but Shay always argued otherwise when the topic was brought up. So Tryion did what I think was his only choice besides forcing her away against her will. Just my thoughts on it, really enjoying the video so far.

I think the trope in fiction mentioned at 13:48 is sometimes referred to as "White Fang"-ing

Max Von Sidow is a master thespian... he can draw upon a lifetime of complex emotions, memories and characters for a nuanced three eyed raven. Isaac H. Wright is literally a child actor, chosen because he came across quite naturally as a simple playful child. There is ZERO indication that his acting abilities are above average at all... let alone in the range of Max Von Sidow

With this episode in particular, i'm suprised Joffrey didn't kill the guy who suggested the sword name Seems like something he'd do

I have no clue why but I could never find myself really hating Joffrey all that much. Like, I hate the things he did but I didn't have a hatred for him. I honestly find him quite interesting.

He's well written villain. One that riles you up, but you don't want to see gone.

If you shave somebody you need such sharp knives, and you aren't allowed to miss otherwise you could kill him. And Ramsay proves he broke theon that utterly he doesn't even try to kill the man who castrated him
